Chapter 254

Spoiled by the President

Stephanie stood at the entrance with a small suitcase beside her. Seeing her turn around, she smiled and said, “Ms. Jennings, I hope I’m not disturbing you.”

Nell collected her emotions and walked over.

“Nope.”

Her gaze fell on the suitcase beside Stephanie and said with surprise, “You’re leaving so quickly?”

“Well, I was here for some promotional photos of the endorsed products nearby. I learned that Grandma Leith was here so I dropped by. Since I can’t take many days off, I have to go back today.”

Nell nodded.

“I’ll see you out.”

Stephanie shook her head and said with a smile, “It’s okay, I only came here to greet you. My assistant is already downstairs, I can go myself.”

Nell had no idea if she was intentionally courteous or did not want her assistant to see her.

However, she did not insist and nodded.

“Then you be safe on the road.”

“Well, you too.”

After seeing Stephanie leave, Nell thought of the question just now.

The only reason Celine escaped and sent such a text message to Sally was because she had received some information.

Who gave the information to her?

Stephanie Garret?

It did not seem like it.

After all, only Stephanie knew her whereabouts besides the Leith family.

If this was exposed, Stephanie would be the main suspect but she would not do it to preserve her impression in the eyes of Old Madam and Gideon.

Then who would it be?

Also, since Celine already knew she was on Tranquil Dwelling, it would only take a few hours from Jingchen.

Why was she not here yet? And mysteriously disappeared?

What actually happened?

Nell felt as though a fog covered her eyes and could not guess the reason behind it.

Fortunately, there were no other incidents besides the disappearance of Celine.

The only way now was to wait and see what would follow.

Nell stopped thinking about it and went out to look for Lizzy.

On the other side, in the cold and wet boat, Celine woke up in a daze.

She was feeling dizzy and she struggled to open her heavy eyelids. When she managed to, all she saw was darkness.

There was a ray of light not far away and a figure could be vaguely seen moving around.

What was this place?

She could only recall eating supper not long after getting on the boat as she was famished, then she fell asleep.

After that...

Celine frowned and could not remember anything after that.

Vaguely, she remembered being moved around and finally locked in a dark hut.

Bad news!

Celine jolted awake and jumped up from the ground.

Only darkness surrounded her with some light from a door in front which was not entirely shut.

Her hands were tied behind her back and her legs were tied too. The floor beneath her was wood emitting salty dampness with wind chiming in her ears which seemed like she was on a boat.

On the boat?

Celine was slightly shocked by the discovery and her wrists were aching due to it being tightly bound.

She frowned and struggled to free herself to no avail and it only caused her wrists to be in more pain.

Her heart slightly sunk and pursed her lips, moving with difficulty towards the door to see the figure standing outside with the help of the ray of light.

That figure...looked so familiar!

Where did she see it before?

Under the moonlight, the figure turned around and walked towards her.

She was wearing a light blue casual dress and had a silver mask on, blocking her face.

However, she was tall and had a nice figure. She would even subconsciously lift her chest and head while walking which did not seem like an ordinary person.

Celine became slightly pale. When she realized that the person was walking towards the room, she quickly sat back at the place where she woke up.

The door to the boat cabin opened with a creak.

The person entering the room was surprised to find her awake.

“I thought you will only wake up tomorrow due to the heavy sedative. It seems like your recovery is good.”

Her voice was crisp and had a hint of coldness which did not sound old.

Suppressing her fear, Celine asked with a trembling voice, “Who are you?”

“Do you think I’ll reveal myself?”

Celine was stunned.

The person walked around her and said, “Don’t worry, I’m not going to do anything to you. You’re only staying here for a while. There will be someone sending food and drinks to you daily.

When the time comes, I’ll let you go. So, I hope you can be obedient during your stay here. Don’t think about escaping, otherwise, I won’t be able to guarantee your safety, do you understand?”

Celine was enraged.

She was the one who tried to track another person down and now she was the one being kidnapped?

She suddenly thought of something and turned aggressively towards that person.

“The mobile phone and the text message were from you?”

She thought that person would deny it but to her surprise, the other party nodded.

“Yes, they were from me.”

Celine’s eyes widened.

“You lied to me?”

“I didn’t lie to you. Nell Jennings is at Tranquil Dwelling but I can’t allow you to go there now because I have something more important for you to do.”

Celine was almost confused by her.

“What do you want me to do?”

“I’ve said it, just stay here for the meantime, don’t worry because I won’t hurt you.”

“Isn’t tying me up hurting me?”

“That’s only a measure to prevent you from running away,” that person said and let out a sigh.

“I don’t want to do this but I have no other choice. You already have a family that loves you, why do you still want to be so greedy?

But I can understand as you’re trying to achieve more! Even if it’s not yours, you’ll still fight for it if there’s a chance right?

That’s why I don’t blame you. I’m tying you up this time so you won’t do something I hate!

I’ll only keep you here for three days. After three days, I can’t be bothered where you want to go.

Also, to compensate for your loss, after this, I’ll find the person you’ve been looking for, so we won’t be indebted to each other.”

What did it mean by not being indebted to each other?

Celine did not contact anyone and took a boat straight to Tranquil Dwelling to ambush Nell.

However, now she would be trapped on a boat for three days?
