Chapter 329
Spoiled by the President
The man curled his lips. âI said you need to master the method.â
He put down the dumpling wrapper in his hand and approached from behind her at the sight of her frowning and in frustration.
Wrapping his arms around her, the man gave her a dumpling wrapper and held her hands as he guided her as a means of teaching.
âLook, donât press too hard here or else it wonât move. Using this hand, gently steer it and a pattern will come. Remember this feeling, spin, pleat, spin, please. Isnât it easy?â
Nell was amazed to find that it was effortless to wrap the dumplings with him teaching her hand-to-hand.
Gideon held her hands and taught her to wrap the same way several times.
By the fifth dumpling, Nell could not sit still and retorted, âLet me try one myself.â
With darkened pupils, the man nodded. âSure, you try one.â
She carefully lifted the dumpling wrapper and gently pleated based on the feeling he guided her to.
Soon, she was done pleating a dumpling.
Although it was not as perfect as the way he taught her, it could at least be called a dumpling.
Overjoyed, she grabbed the dumpling and turned to him in all smiles. âLook, I got it!â
The man was infected by the young womanâs simple yet happy smile. His eyes darkened with delight.
He nodded. âYes, my wife is very smart.â
Nell was embarrassed by the sudden compliment.
Sweeping back the strands of hair by her face, she grinned bashfully. âYou taught me well.â
However, she had forgotten that her hands were covered in flour from making dumplings all morning. The hair swept back had her cheeks painted with two white prints.
She looked like a shy little kitten.
With his eyes obscure, the man abruptly pressed the back of her head and planted a forceful kill on her lips.
Caught off-guard, Nellâs mind went blank by the kiss. She then gazed around in a fluster.
She elbowed his waist and pouted. âWhat are you doing? This is the Leith Residence! Grandma and Aunt are still out there!â
Gideon chuckled. âSo what?â
Nell glared at him.
âWatch your mouth! What if someone sees us?â
âNelly, weâre lawfully-wedded husband and wife. Itâs really nothing if someone catches us kissing.â
Nell, â...â
That said, the old madam and Jean were around. Even though the old master had not made an appearance, god knew when he would suddenly pop over.
She could die of embarrassment if she was caught.
The man knew she was easily sheepish. Seeing that she was blushing to the ears, he curled his lips cheerfully and stopped teasing her.
He took off his gloves and said, âThereâs still some time before dinner. Why donât I take you out for a stroll?â
Nell glanced at the time. It was indeed still early as it was not even 6:00 p.m. yet.
Hence, she bobbed her head. âSure.â
The pair took off their gloves and tidied up the place before going out hand-in-hand.
The Leith Residence was surrounded by villa compounds where mostly descendants of the Four Great Clans resided in.
Years ago, 80% of the residents moved over here after the compound was demolished. The neighborhood seemed like another huge compound.
As the couple went on foot, they bumped into several passersby who greeted Gideon.
âSecond Brother Leith!â
âBrother!â
âBrother, where are you going?â
âSecond Brother, are you taking sister-in-law for a walk?â
It could be seen from the various greetings that Gideon was rather familiar with the people here. He was addressed differently than the outside world.
Gideon replied with a nod instead of answering, keeping up with his aloof outlook.
Nevertheless, although he kept a straight face toward these people, there was warmth in his eyes, unlike the indifference he had toward others.
Just then, they came face to face with an approaching young boy.
He was called a boy because of his blonde-dyed crew cut and body of metal punk apparel. One could tell at one look that it was a style adopted by youngsters during their rebellion period.
Like a breeze, he swished over on his skateboard. His eyes lit up at the sight of Gideon.
He put his foot down and stopped before shouting in enthusiasm, âSecond Brother! Youâre back!â
Gideon gazed at him, his cold eyes softened.
âYes, whatâs up?â
âIâm getting ready to go out and have fun.â
The boyâs gaze fell onto Nell and was captivated.
He blinked his eyes at Gideon, hinting.
âBrother, this must be my sister-in-law. When are you having a wedding? Let me attend your wedding feast and get in the joyous mood.â
Gideon smiled. âSoon.â
Nell was taken aback but before she could come by, Gideon already led her away.
Behind them, the young boy happily exclaimed, âYes! Remember to let me know then, I want to be your best man!â
The pair was already in a distance. Still in a daze, Nell turned back and glanced at the boy. She asked Gideon, âWho is he?â
âThe youngest of the Grahams.â
âHuh?â
Truth be told, Nell had heard a lot about the Grahams and rarely seen one in the flesh.
Out of the Four Great Clans in the capital, needless to say, she was quite close to the Grahams. She was also familiar with the Fosters because of Joel.
Up until now, she had never met any descendants of the Graham family.
She had only encountered the head of the Graham household, Harrison, during the gathering at Garrettâs place the last time.
It was said that Harrison had three sons. The eldest was in the army while the second eldest was doing business. Both of them were outstanding in their own right among the younger generation. The youngest seemed to be brushed aside by the family as there was rarely anything on him.
By the looks of it, the one they had just met must be Youngest Graham in the rumors.
Nell fell into contemplation but before she was finished with her thoughts, they had arrived at a nearby square.
There was a crowd of people in the square and it was quite a bustle.
Since it was New Year, there was an area to put fireworks. Although the sun was still out and fireworks worked best at night, many people still came to play due to the lively atmosphere.
Nellâs hand was tucked into the manâs coat pocket. It was nice and snug.
She saw someone selling roasted chestnuts ahead and suggested. âLetâs go buy some snacks!â
Nodding, Gideon brought her over and bought a few. Nellâs phone suddenly rang as they were paying.
She picked up her phone for a look. It was Janet.
With a smile escaping her lips, she informed Gideon before moving to a side to take the call.
Janetâs intention to call was straightforward. She simply briefed Nell about the situation in Jincheng and asked about Sunny.
Nell told her everything.
Sunny was taken care of by Karen as well as by the old madam, Mama Lindbloom, and a handful of maids who were mothers. They had a way with children so there was nothing to worry about.
