Chapter 4
Spoiled by the President
Since Nell was a child, Hayley Morton loved to antagonize her. She never failed to pick a fight with Nell.
Nell was no in the mood to deal with her, so she pulled out a few bills from her bag and called for the check.
However, Hayley stepped forward and blocked her path.
âWhy are you leaving? Câmon, show me. Is it condoms or lube today?â
She reached out to grab Nellâs bag.
Nell took a step back, glaring at her with cold eyes.
âHayley Morton, donât go overboard!â
âOverboard? Haha...â Hayley acted as if she heard a great joke. âNell Jennings! Do you think youâre still my brotherâs girlfriend? Youâre nothing now!
What are you acting so high and mighty for?â
Nellâs jaw tightened expressionlessly.
Hayley waved her hand. âYou! Go grab her bag!â
âWhatâs the point of just looking at her bag? Doesnât she sell some very mature products? Itâs already so late, yet sheâs still out making deliveries. I wonder if sheâs delivering an item or a person.â
âThatâs true, but look at how much of a dead fish she is. No one would want her anyway. Why donât we just strip her down and check if we can find any evidence? Wouldnât it help clear your brotherâs name?â
Hayleyâs eyes brightened. âOh! Letâs do that!â
The girls rubbed their hands together as they advanced, making Nell pale.
She turned and ran while they were still unprepared.
However, she did drink quite a lot, so she stumbled as she ran without knowing the direction she was heading. After blearily seeing the letters âWCâ
on the door, she quickly rushed inside.
A loud voice instantly cried out, âWhat the f*ck!â
There were two people inside. One was smoking, and the other was using the lavatory. He almost peed his pants in shock upon seeing her barge in.
It was also Nellâs first time seeing something like that, so she was stunned for a few seconds. Then, she realized that she entered the wrong door and immediately turned red.
âI-Iâm sorry! I went the wrong way!â
She stumbled and was about to exit, but Hayleyâs voice sounded from outside.
âWhere did she run off to? Where is she?â
âI clearly saw her run over here. Where did she disappear to?â
âShe must be in the toilet! Go! Find her!â
Nell grew slightly pale and looked at the two men opposite her. She had a vague feeling that the smoker looked familiar.
âSirs, m-may I hide here for a while?â
Although it was a difficult request, she had no other choice. She did not want to get caught by Hayley.
Gideon Leithâs face was expressionless. His cold eyes glanced over to Matthew Starks, who was hurriedly putting on his pants. âGet out!â
Matthew was so frightened that his heart was trembling. He bolted out as if he was granted amnesty.
Nell felt dizzy and subconsciously tried to reach out to hold something, but her legs suddenly gave out and she fell forward.
Her head lightened and she instinctively closed her eyes.
However, the pain she expected never came, and a slender and powerful arm stretched out and scooped her up.
She crashed into the manâs arms and her already dizzy head became even dizzier. Her body slid down involuntarily.
Gideon could only throw away the cigarette and hold her up with both hands. He looked at her drunken mess with a frown on his face.
âNell Jennings, just how much did you drink?â
Nell grew confused after realizing that he knew her name.
âDo you know me?â
Gideonâs eyes were calm. His emotions were barely visible from his expression.
Then, his thin lips pulled up.
âNo, I donât.â
...
Nell was carried out of the bar by Gideon.
She hugged the manâs neck with her drunken face stained red. Her eyes were also half-closed. She was very intoxicated.
Gideon placed her on the back seat and then got in himself.
Matthew started the engine and asked respectfully, âWhere are we headed, Mr. President?â
âLeith Gardens.â
âUnderstood!â
As the car drove along the silent avenue late at night, Nell was so drunk that she pressed her head against the window with her eyes closed. She did not even have the strength to think.
One characteristic she had when she was drunk was that she never made any fuss or noise. She only went to sleep.
This led to the result of her not even noticing her own situation, let alone realizing that there was a man beside her.
Her consciousness was groggy and her mind was completely hazy. There were also faint hints of pain that usually accompanied drinking.
At that moment, the phone in her bag buzzed.
She frowned and rummaged in her bag for a while before finally pulling the phone out and answering the call.
âHello?â
âNell Jennings, I heard from Hayley that you left Lihua Bar with a man?â
It was Jason Morton.
She opened her eyes. Her hazy eyes glowed with a layer of mist. âWhat about it? She snitched to you?â
Jasonâs tone was cold and heavy. âI know that I let you down today, but you shouldnât defile yourself because of this. What kind of place do you think a bar is? How could you just...â
Nell was not in the mood to listen to him and interrupted him impatiently. âWhatâs your point?â
âWhere are you now? Iâll send someone to pick you up.â
âDid Celine allow you to do that?â
âCeline isnât as bad as you think she is. She has always thought of you as her biological sister. If anything happened to you, the most heartbroken person would be her.â
Nell snorted in laughter.
This was the first time she realized that there were such shameless people in the world.
Celine was constantly lowering the bar.
âThen I bet she didnât tell you that she called me half an hour ago. She bragged that she finally stole my boyfriend and even used the child in her belly to prove her point!â
Without even thinking about it, Jason said, âThatâs impossible!â
Nell laughed in ridicule.
Jason took a deep breath. His tone gradually grew impatient.
âNell, what exactly do you want? Celine has never said a bad word about you. After she found out that you were at the bar, she asked me to call you right away. Sheâs worried about you, but what about you?
âYou repeatedly accuse her maliciously. I admit that there are some things that we did wrong, but are you completely in the right?
âYou constantly bully her by taking advantage of your better family background. Every time I ask you to accompany me to social gatherings, you make all sorts of excuses. I told you to stop working at that business, but you gave me a bullsh*t excuse and said that all jobs are equal?
âNell, Iâm someone with status and I care about my reputation. I canât let people know that my girlfriend is selling erotic products, right?!
âYou only ever think about yourself and give no regard to my feelings at all, and youâre still blaming others even at this stage?â

She never thought that Jason would think this way.
She bullied Celine?
She was unwilling to go to social functions with him?
She disgraced him by selling erotic products?
Her eyes turned red for a moment. Then, she suddenly laughed in a low voice. She laughed at the irony of it all.
âSo thatâs what you thought! Thatâs great! Remember what you said today! I wonât ever forgive you. Sooner or later, Iâll make you regret it!â
Then, she hung up the phone.
The car was plunged into a strange silence.
