Chapter 406

Spoiled by the President

Nell was naturally familiar with the route to Leith Corporation and with that, she went straight to the office building. Some people she was familiar with waved and nodded in greeting, while others who were not familiar with her began to whisper when they saw her holding a lunchbox and pressing the button for the 38th floor on the elevator.

The 38th floor was the President’s floor. Nell’s identity was no longer a secret, and everyone wondered if she was here to bring food to the President.

The President had been a diamond bachelor for so many years, and even his past with Stephanie Garrett was just stories that the media and paparazzi caught on to. He had never admitted to any of them.

However, he was so easily taken by this woman. Although everyone was polite and respectful on the surface, there was still some envy and a hint of jealousy in their hearts.

Nell felt the eyes on her back and sighed secretly in discomfort. Fortunately, the nature of her work meant that she did not have to sit in the company every day. Otherwise, even if she did not drown in the drool of these women, she would be killed by their gazes.

When the elevator arrived on the 16th floor, the door opened with a “ding’ and Matthew Starks walked in. He exclaimed in surprise upon seeing her.

“Young Madam, why are you here?”

Nell quietly hid the lunchbox behind her back and smiled dryly.

“I was free and there was nothing to do at home, so I’m here to look around.”

Matthew revealed an expression of realization.

“You must be here for the President. He’s in the office. He hasn’t had lunch yet!”

Nell nodded, pretending to be aloof.

At the sight, Matthew smiled in his heart but did not dare to show it on his face. He could only pretend that he did not see the lunchbox that she was hiding behind her back.

Before long, the elevator arrived on the 38th floor.

The elevator doors opened and Matthew exited first before holding the door for her. He said in a gentlemanly manner, “Be careful.”

Nell walked out and the two of them stood in front of the president’s office.

“President, this is the information for the last three months from the planning department that you asked for.”

Gideon had his head lowered and was writing something. Without lifting his head, he hummed in acknowledgment and pointed to the bookcase full of documents next to him. “Put it over there.”

“Understood.”

Matthew put the report over there before saying, “Is there anything else, Sir?”

Gideon waved his hand.

That meant that there was nothing more. Matthew tactfully withdrew and thoughtfully closed the door behind him.

Nell held the lunchbox and stood there quietly, not making a sound or any disturbing movements. Instead, she looked around the office that she did not often come to.

The office was very large with floor-to-ceiling glass on two sides and hence it was particularly well-lit.

His desk was on the left-hand corner farther away from the door, next to a large bookcase filled with various kinds of books.

To the right was a meeting area where a huge projector curtain took up the entire wall. Nell had seen him talk with several foreigners there before.

Behind the meeting area was the rest area, with a sofa, a refrigerator, a water dispenser, and even a separate cubicle for a washroom.

Gideon was very focused on his work. If he had not lifted his hand to get his cup and found that it was empty, he would not have noticed her arrival.

“Nelly?”

He looked up, startled. “What are you doing here?”

Nell walked over to put down his lunch box and took the empty cup from his hand before refilling it and giving it back to him.

Then, she said awkwardly, “Aunt Joyce told me to bring you lunch.”

Gideon looked at the lunchbox on the table and raised his eyebrows. “Aunt Joyce told you to come?”

Nell nodded obediently.

Her expression looked so sincere that it could not have been true.

However, Gideon could sniff out something strange. After all, Aunt Joyce knew his habit of eating lunch at the company and had not sent him lunch for so many years. Why would she suddenly tell Nell to send lunch over today?

He realized that the little woman was embarrassed and did not have the nerve to tell him the truth, even though she was just caring for him.

A hint of a pleasant smile appeared in the depths of his eyes as he looked at her suspiciously. “Who made it?”

“Aunt Joyce, of course,” Nell answered without hesitation.

To hide her discomfort, she stepped aside and took a cup to pour herself a glass of water before she drank it carelessly.

The suspicion in Gideon’s eyes grew deeper, but he did not expose her. He simply put down the work in his hands before taking the lunchbox to the rest area.

“Since Aunt Joyce went through all the trouble, I’ll eat it.”

He sat on the sofa, paying attention to the woman’s expression as he opened up the lunchbox.

Although she was drinking water, her eyes kept flitting towards him. With that, his hunch was more or less confirmed.

A gentle smile curled up on his lips as he opened the lunch box. The dishes inside were simple, which made him more certain that they were not made by Aunt Joyce.

If it really was Aunt Joyce’s cooking, she would have made a complex and nutritious dish, not home-cooked dishes like these to fool him.

Gideon used his chopsticks and took a bite.

The taste was... Mm, really good.

Nell was a bit nervous as she saw him eat and could not help but lean over eagerly. “How does it taste?”

Thinking of teasing her, Gideon said, “Haven’t you tasted Aunt Joyce’s cooking before?”

Nell was at a sudden loss for words.

She could not say that she was the one who made it!

Seeing the man eat the food one bite at a time with no emotion on his face, her heart felt unsettled as if a cat was scratching her with its claws.

Spoiled by the President Chapter 405 Inhumane “I didn’t eat the food that Aunt Joyce cooked today.”

It was only after a long time had passed that she came up with such a lame reason.

Gideon saw this and very kindly handed her the chopsticks. “Why don’t you try it?”

Nell quickly waved her hand. “No, no, I’m fine.”

What a joke! She had tasted it when it came out of the pot and thought that it turned out alright, but she did not know whether he liked it or not.

His stomach was used to eating all kinds of delicacies, so she did not know if he could adapt to her kind of little home-cooked dishes.

She watched as Gideon finished every morsel before wiping his mouth with a paper napkin. “It tastes good. Tell Aunt Joyce to make lunch more often.”

The taut strings around Nell’s heart loosened and she immediately smiled.

She nodded. “Okay.”

Gideon was delighted at her smiling face. Was this a disguised attempt by this woman to please him?

He suddenly pulled her in and kissed her on the lips before she could react.

The kiss was really not wonderful.

He had just finished eating and his mouth still smelled like food, so kissing her filled her mouth with the same taste as well.

A little annoyed, Nell pushed him away, but he naturally did not budge an inch.

With a fierce surge in her heart, she parted her teeth and bit down on his lip.

The man hissed and let go, and the tooth mark on his lip started to ooze blood.

He lowered his head and looked at her with eyes filled with fire as he said hoarsely, “Little minx.”
