Chapter 508
Spoiled by the President
Even Joel Foster could not handle her. Why would she be warm toward him? He could not fathom her enthusiasm.
The situation became increasingly more mysterious the more he thought about it.
After giving it some thought, he decided to send Joel a text in case any misunderstanding would arise in the future.
The cast and crew of the production company had all arrived.
Levi gave them a briefing before they started filming.
If the actors had real interest in acting, they were more than welcome to stay. However, if they were planning to hide behind the managementâs back and play tricks on their own, this would prove that they were being unprofessional. He would unabashedly change the actor for the character.
Levi Fernandez was not about to tolerate such games.
His words left everyone looking at each other.
They knew who these words were for. It was precisely because of this that they were shocked.
They never thought that Director Fernandez would have such strong opinions about Lucy Katz...
A few of those who were used to leeching on the benefits from influential people saw Lucyâs expression change.
However, although Lucy had to face such adversity, her face had not a lick of retaliation.
She shot an unperturbed look toward Levi while smiling, signaling that she agreed with the directorâs point of view.
Lucy had not a single sign of fear.
She had lost sleep and forgotten her meals diving into the script for a whole month.
How could she easily cave into Leviâs biased views?
Lucy believed that she would not dig her own grave.
She believed that she had the confidence and capability to prove herself to be worthy of portraying this character. She wanted to prove...
That she was not just a decoration who forced her way in through her management. She was a professional actress. An upright and righteous actress who had worked hard to get to where she was this day.
Levi could not understand her thoughts when faced with Lucyâs calmness.
All he saw was her stubborn ways of refusing to change for the better.
Levi did not understand why Lucy could muster up the courage to act this way. She had no real skills. Yet, she had the audacity to give him a tranquil look and even followed along what he had to say.
Levi was provoked by what he thought was a nonchalant response.
He did not show his displeasure. Instead, he bluntly continued, âI hope that everyone here will display their real skills. Donât let me down.â
He purposely coldly glanced at Lucy, then headed towards the cameras.
The filming had officially started.
The first scene today was Lucyâs part.
The content was about Nelly Wilson, whom Lucy was playing, having an argument with her mother, Mrs. Wilson.
The news that Sam Wilson had died had reached their ears. Nelly was angered and vowed to not let her father die in vain. The conservative Mrs.
Wilson was drowning in despair and asked her daughter what they should do next.
Nelly spilled out her overall plans to her, but Mrs. Wilson did not agree with her ways.
Mrs. Wilson felt that she was too innocent to be continuing down this path. As the only daughter of the Wilson family, she needed to show a respectful reputation for the sake of the family.
Since Sam had passed away, Mrs. Wilson did not wish to see his name being tarnished any further.
This was not what Nelly had in mind.
From her point of view, she needed to put herself forth even more, precisely because she bore the reputation of Sam Wilson. She wanted to tell the emperor, her fatherâs old department, and the enemies that had killed him, that the Wilson family had not fallen. She, Nelly Wilson, was as capable as any other men.
Finally, after much persuasion, Mrs. Wilson gave into Nellyâs wishes.
However, Mrs. Wilson had a condition. Nelly had to go to Ning Guo Temple and ask for a sign. Only then would she be more at peace.
On the way to Ning Guo Temple, Nelly faced a surprise attack when crossing a bridge. She jumped into the lake in order to escape.
Coincidentally, it was winter. The surface of the lake was covered with thin ice.
The water was frosty cold beyond imagination. The bandits thought that Nelly was a weak woman and would not survive under those circumstances.
Hence, the bandits stopped their chase and Nelly survived.
When Lucy first read the script for this scene, she thoroughly thought through the essential points of the scene.
This scene had two main parts. The first was the argument between Nelly and Mrs. Wilson. The second being Nellyâs scenario between life and death.
The first part of the plot was the opening scene. One that was of utmost importance.
In a mere few short minutes, Lucy needed to portray the characterâs resolution and her determination to avenge her father. At the same time, she had to show her disappointment toward her motherâs orthodox thinking and come to a compromise as a filial daughter.
If Lucy could give an outstanding performance even in this one scene, she would give justice to Nelly Wilsonâs character.
But would this be easy to pull off?
From the perspective of the audience, Lucy had an immense pressure cast upon her.
However, Lucy found this part of the performance quite enjoyable.
Lucy felt that it was most important to be able to pull off a challenging act such as this.
Hence, the few minutes before the shoot, Lucy did not experience any anxiety nor self-doubt. Her eyes glimmered with excitement while looking at the busy crew.
She felt that the waiting was something to be relished in.
Lucy did not realize that her expression of confidence, to Levi Fernandez, was an act to mask her fear.
Through Jada Swansonâs relentless complaints and inciting of hatred, Levi Fernandez had no good impressions to spare for Lucy Katz.
Lucy did not mind all that.
Spoiled by the President ï¤Chapter 507 Unattainable Flowers Wrong Ride, Right Lover Her only worry was when she could start to perform and work together with the production crew.
Lucy was delighted that she did not need to wait long.
The production crew were soon ready.
Lucy had changed into her attire long ago. She stood up and brushed her sleeves. Her face was brimming with confidence and smiles as she strode toward the set.
âI canât wait to see how you are going to pull this off.â Levi looked at the joyful and excited Lucy. His lips hooked into a cold smile of disdain.
Lucy arrived at the center of the set and gave her supporting actress a slight nod as a sign of her regards.
A flash of nervousness flashed across the supporting actressâ eyes. She reluctantly nodded back at her.
She remembered Jada Swansonâs orders. She needed to mess up Lucy Katzâs acting no matter the consequences. Her heart was throbbing with nervousness at these thoughts.
She did not want to take up this task.
Unfortunately, Jada persisted and blackmailed her. If she did not do as she said, she would get Levi to cut off her opportunity for the character.
She had worked hard to land this role. She knew this better than anyone else.
Hence, she treasured this chance greatly. She did not want Lucy to be the reason for her being dismissed from the production company.
Soon, the shooting started.
The moment Lucy said her first line, she noticed that her supporting actress completely lacked emotions in her acting.
She was one of the cast members for the drama, yet Lucy did not sense any acting skills from her.
