Chapter 528
Spoiled by the President
Chloe did not expect to hear noisy discussions coming from the living room as soon as she entered the house.
âDad, look at the time now. I donât think that sheâll be coming home tonight.â
âThatâs right, donât mind me, but you spoil her too much. You think that itâs for her own good, but youâre actually harming her! How will she get married in the future with this behavior of hers?â
âSigh! Why donât I send someone out to find her?â
Chloe was speechless.
Chloe stood at the entrance, her lips trembling with anger as she heard their discussion.
What was wrong with her behavior? It would affect her marriage?
What ruthless things did she do this time that had caused shame to her entire family?
Chloe was so angry that her face turned pale. Mama Brockman, who was the familyâs maid, was the first to see her as she came out of the kitchen.
She said in surprise, âMiss?â
The discussion in the living room stopped immediately.
Chloe pressed her lips together tightly and walked into the living room. She looked at everyone there â Shania Fernandez, Iris Henderson, Jimmy Reese, Jade Hughes, and Zayne Henderson on the couch.
Everyone was stunned the moment they saw her, but their expressions turned quickly into sneers.
âHey! Chloeâs finally back home? I thought you wouldnât be coming back tonight!â
Shania was the first one to speak, and her tone was filled with mockery.
Chloe clenched her fists and looked at her disgusting face. She really wanted to step forward and slap her, but her rationality stopped her from doing so. With a cold smile, Chloe said, âDoes it matter to you whether I come back or not?â
What she meant was that this was the Henderson household, and for that, whether she came back or not had nothing to do with Shania!
Shania sneered, âOf course it doesnât have anything to do with me. Iâm only worried about your father.â
Chloe flashed Zayne a look.
Zayne also had a slightly angered expression, but at least his eyes are not filled with mockery like the others.
Chloe sighed in her heart and walked towards them. She then passed her purse to Mama Brockman before she sat down on the couch and said with an arrogant tone, âSo it turns out that our Auntie Hughes doesnât exist and my father needs an outsider to be worried for him?â
Shania and Jadeâs expression both changed as she said this.
Since Shaniaâs husband had died early, it was not easy for her to raise Jimmy all by herself for all these years as she did not possess any worthy skills that could support the family. So besides doing what she could, it was inevitable that she had to do some dirty business in order to support her life. Therefore, she did not have a good reputation.
Nonetheless, no one dared to speak about it in front of her. After all, it would be too offensive to expose her scars.
Yet Chloe did not care about any of this and instead, she provoked her multiple times. Why did she need to care about Shaniaâs pride?
Zayne said angrily, âChloe, how can you talk to Shania like that? Sheâs your elder!â
âI donât have such an elder who talks behind someone elseâs back!â
âYou!â
âEnough!â Jimmy suddenly stood up. He looked at Chloe with a face filled with anger and a pair of cold eyes.
âChloe, what do you mean? What weâre saying isnât the truth? You dare to do it but youâre afraid of what others say?â
âHeh!â
Chloe sneered. Just as she was about to speak, Iris glanced at her neck and her eyes lit up suddenly. She then quickly stepped forward to undo her collar.
At that moment, a hickey was revealed.
âWhat are you doing?â
Chloe was so anxious and angry, she wanted to push her hand away, but it was already too late. Everyone had seen the hickey on her neck.
Shani, Iris, and Jimmy all gave her a disdained look, and even though Jade did not show it, she let out a cold snort in her heart.
Zayneâs expression was the worst of all!
Looking at everyoneâs expression, Chloe knew that something was wrong. As she was about to explain, a heavy smack landed on her cheek.
Chloe was stunned.
She looked at her father in a daze. Although her father had always misunderstood her over the years, he had never beaten her.
She opened her mouth. âDad.â
âDonât call me dad! I donât have such a shameless daughter!â
Chloeâs nose became stuffy and her tears finally fell down at that moment.
Zayne was trembling in anger. Jade quickly stepped forward to console him, âAlright, alright, Chloe wasnât being sensible. Just talk to her about it, thereâs no need to hit her.â
Yet her eyes showed a hint of gloat.
To Chloe, all of this hurt as if a needle was piercing through her heart. She really wanted to tell her father that the truth was not like what they thought and she did not do those kinds of things.
However, words could not come out of her mouth.
She knew that even if she were to say it, no one would believe her!
Chloeâs eyes were getting red and tears were swirling in her eyes, but not a single tear fell.
She took a deep breath and said dully, âI heard what all of you said just now. So dad, do you also think that Iâm his mistress?â
Zayne snorted. He did not want to talk to her at all.
Chloeâs eyes revealed a hint of sadness as she took out her marriage certificate from her purse and threw it to him. âSee it for yourself!â
After she was done speaking, she turned away and strode out.
...
Chloe strode across and after a while, she began to run. The midnight wind blew away her tears and it felt as if a blade was cutting through her skin.
However, she did not stop. She ran with all her might as if this could vent out all of her sorrow.
She finally stopped when she arrived at the seaside. She bent over with her hands on her knees and panted heavily. Her face was flushed from all the running and her nose was also red because of the cold.
Suddenly, Chloe opened her mouth and shouted at the sea.
âAhhhhhh!â
âAhhhhhh!â
âAhhhhhh!â
Not many people were by the sea on an autumn night, so even if there were a few people who looked at her weirdly as she screamed countless times, she chose to just ignore them.
She wanted to vent it all out. She was going crazy!
Why?
Why would they treat her like that?
They were her closest relatives, were they not?
Knowing that truth was not what it seemed to be, why do they still say that about her?
She covered her face and laid down on the soft sand. She cried so hard that her eyes hurt and her whole body trembled.
She remembered that this had also happened two years ago where all of them had also pointed at her nose and scolded her.
B*tch! How shameless!
She endured it! There was no point arguing with that many people.
When she saw Jimmy cheating on her with Iris, and when Iris provoked her while she was in his arms, she endured it too!
There was no point in having lingering feelings for such a scumbag!
Yet, the only one that caused her the greatest pain was her father.

It was like this two years ago, during the wedding and even now!
