Finally taking notice of Celine, Gareth smiled. “Celine, you were great too. Huh? What happened to your face?”

Now that his attention was on her face, Celine let out a forced smile.

“Nothing. Sister slapped me earlier. It-it’s alright.”

Nell looked towards her and grinned. “Oh, I’m sorry. I was way too immersed in the role to hold back. You can’t deny that I managed to invoke stronger emotions in you. Don’t you agree, sister?”

She returned the same words Celine said to Lucy.

Celine’s face stiffened.

After fixing the appointment, Nell left with Lucy.

On the other end, a sense of doubt crept into Celine’s mind over Gareth’s over-enthusiasm.

Unsettled, she asked, “Director Leith, why did you ask my sister about the film? What are your thoughts on this?”

Gareth cast a glance at her.

Honestly speaking, Celine was indeed the only suitable candidate in the industry to play Ashley if Nell never made an appearance.

However, now it seemed that Celine made a good impression of Alison!

As opposed to the indifference and cool head of Ashley, Celine was better off playing Alison who looked weak on the outside but scheming on the inside.

Nonetheless, Gareth was not in the position to reveal many details as nothing was set in stone. He did not want to count his chickens before they hatched.

Thus, he let out a smile. “Nothing. Don’t read too much into it. Study the scripture at home when you have the time. Don’t just set your sights on one role. Observe the inner conflict of other roles, it’ll help you in the future.”

Celine misread his intention as studying other roles for the benefits of bringing her character to life.

Without a thought, she nodded in agreement.

Once everyone made their departure, Gareth went to Leith Corporation bringing his laptop along.

The biggest investor in this film was Anning International.

In other words, Gideon Leith.

Gideon was having his lunch when Gareth came looking for him with his laptop.

During times when he was swamped at work and had no visitors, Gideon would usually have Matthew order takeout and have lunch in his office.

Gareth arrived to see Gideon sitting on the sofa in his office, eating the takeout.

He walked over and smiled. “Uncle, are you eating?”

Gideon threw a glance at him before continuing with his meal.

“Is there anything to talk about?”

“There’s no rush, let’s talk after you’ve finished.”

With that, he took a seat on a single-seat sofa opposite Gideon.

Gideon was fussy about his food. Apart from Aunt Joyce’s cooking, he only had a taste for the food in Clearwater Villa since his stay in Jincheng.

Every afternoon, Matthew would arrange someone to pick up a meal.

People there would pack the food in an insulated lunchbox so by the time it arrived, the taste and texture was just right.

Gareth took a gulp at the sight of the delicious meal.

His tummy rumbled.

Oh Heavens, please take pity on me. He had been busy all morning, going through several auditions in one sitting. He did not have a bite to eat and the time was half-past twelve in the afternoon.

However, Gareth dared not behave too familiar in front of him.

Gideon took another glance at him and noticed him gawping at the food. Saliva was on the verge of dripping out of his mouth.

Although amused, his facial expression showed no emotion. He pressed a button on his landline.

“Matthew, bring a set of cutleries in.”

Gareth was taken aback. Hit with realization, he waved his arms.

“It-it’s okay. Uncle, I’ve eaten!”

“Oh. Matthew, no need for the cutleries! Put them back.”

Gareth, “...”

He swore he was only being polite.

His uncle sure took things seriously!

Gareth wept without tears.

A minute later, he suddenly saw the light when Matthew came in with a brand new set of cutleries.

He turned to look at Gideon and was greeted by a teasing smirk reflected in the latter’s eyes.

Receiving the cutleries, Gareth was embarrassed. “Uncle, I’ll help myself then.”

Gideon was almost done but Gareth was a distant nephew after all. Although Gareth was older than him by almost twenty years, Gideon could not let him wait on an empty stomach.

Putting down his bowl and chopsticks, he wiped his mouth and said, “Clean up after you’re done. I’m going to take a break.”

With that, he walked into the break room.

Gareth immediately rose to his heels.

“Wa-wait a minute.”

Gideon turned back.

Gareth swallowed the food in his mouth in a rush. Without a care for the meal, he grabbed his laptop and trod over.

“Uncle, I’m here on business.”

Gideon frowned. “What’s wrong?”

“I want to change the actress!”

“I swear, I’m really not trying to be fickle-minded. It’s just this actress is too superb! She has the skills and quite a beauty too! Most importantly, she’s a replica of the Ashley Watson in my mind!

“This actress has everything but a chance. If she’s signed on to Anning International and plays the female lead in this film, I can guarantee you she’ll rise to fame! She’ll definitely be the most valuable money tree under your leadership!”
