The film crew was rushing. Lucy took a day off from filming, so she stayed for dinner with her mother and decided to go back to the set.

When she left, she held her mother’s hand and reminded her to take care of herself. She saw that her mother’s complexion was better than before and thought deep down that perhaps this was for the best.

They could be together. At least she exchanged it for her mother’s health, so it was all worth it.

She left the room after she took care of everything.

Lucy got out of the hospital and hurriedly took a cab back to the set.

When she got back, even before she got to sit down and have a sip of water, she overheard that there was an inspection on set.

Lucy was a little surprised. Who would come at this hour?

She walked over and said, “Why are you here?”

Mace still did not know about the deal between Lucy and Joel. He smiled and said, “I happened to pass by, so I thought of coming here to see you.”

He paused and continued, “Oh right! How’s Aunty? Did you find her?”

Lucy averted her eyes and nodded.

“Yup, I found her.”

Mace was relieved after he heard this and laughed.

“I was so scared! I thought something happened to Aunty. When I heard that you came back to the set, I knew nothing major happened, but I just wanted to see for myself. After all, I was quite unsettled. Thank goodness Aunty is fine now.”

Lucy was silent and did not know what to say.

She felt a complicated series of emotions as she saw Mace’s concerned face, but she was speechless.

Mace then asked, “Oh right! So where was she transferred to? I’ll make time to visit her.”

Lucy turned away from him as she could not bear to see his sincere eyes. She said guiltily, “She’s fine.”

She was evidently avoiding him and it made him frown.

“Lu, what’s wrong? Did I do something to upset you?”

Lucy’s heart tightened as she could not stand to see Mace be so caring towards her.

This made her feel more guilt.

She took a deep breath and mustered up the courage to face Mace.

“It’s nothing. You came at the right time. I have something to say to you. Let’s find another place to talk.”

After she spoke, she turned and walked away.

Mace was stunned and did not know if he was mistaken, but he felt like Lucy was a bit off today. Her eyes were flickering, which was an obvious sign of guilt. She looked like she was hiding something from him.

Nevertheless, he did not press further and followed her to the lounge.

A few actors were resting and chatting in the lounge at that time.
