Chapter 560
Spoiled by the President
Joel Foster sneered, âOh? Is it? It looks like you didnât fully learn your lesson from before.â
As he said this, Lucy Katzâs heart paused and felt a tingling hatred, but she could not do anything.
She could not imagine that there was such a shameless person in this world, who could even threaten her with her motherâs health.
Even when she faced Fourth Cecil, she did not have this kind of helpless and exasperated feeling.
In the end, Lucy thought about her motherâs condition and lowered her head.
She sighed and said, âFine. I was wrong in this matter, but what do you want me to do? You donât like me having contact with other men. Does that mean I must stay at home all day and canât even act?
âJoel Foster, Iâm a human being. I need my own space too. Iâm not a canary that you can keep in a cage. Do you truly want to see me like that?â
The sight of the womanâs teary eyes deeply impacted Joelâs heart. He felt his heart ache.
After a while, he said with a cold face, âI didnât say that you canât act anymore. Iâm just saying that you should maintain a basic distance with other men.â
Lucy paused for a bit, then looked away grudgingly and blinked her red-rimmed eyes.
âDonât you worry. Iâll remember next time.â
Joel let her go after he heard this.
As he let go, he noticed two red fingerprint marks on her fair chin. It was him that did this to her.
His eyes darkened.
Joel put his hands back in his pockets and said, âI have a dinner party to attend tomorrow night. You should accompany me.â
Lucy was surprised and her heart panicked.
Even though Joel did not look for her during this period, she still felt unsettled.
Lucy did not think that once he looked for her, their relationship would be made known to the public.
She did not think that she would play the role of his girlfriend this quickly. Joel did not even give her the time to reject him. After he finished talking, he just left.
The next day, at night.
Lucy was contemplating all day for a solution, but she could not think of one.
Fortunately with Joelâs social standing, when he appeared at these events, he would often be accompanied by different female companions, so as long as she kept her distance and refused to admit anything, it should be fine.
At this moment, Lucy was still getting her makeup done.
The stylist was an experienced master. Within 10 minutes, the stylist had given her a delicate light look and chose a lavender-colored hand-
embroidered gown for her to change into.
After she got dressed, the stylist kept complimenting her and said that she looked like a goddess and was too beautiful.
Lucy saw her reflection in the mirror. The gownâs translucent tulle over her neck and shoulders with its light color and delicate embroidery, once paired with her innocent face, indeed brought out a fairy-like appearance. It was a look that she did not fancy.
She liked flashy and bold looks. She liked to wear the brightest colors and put on thick and sultry makeup. She liked seeing those men gaze at her without being able to look away, yet when they turned around, they had to pretend to be gentlemen. It was especially relieving to see that.
Lucy was a petty commoner.
However, tonight she was not herself. She was Joelâs accessory, so she did not request for much. She nodded, took the bag that the stylist had prepared for her, and walked out.
The night breeze in April was chilly. Lucy hugged her shoulders and got into the car. Joel gave her a look, frowned, and asked, âWhy did you pick this color?â
Lucy raised her eyebrows. Her lips were shimmering because she had lip gloss on. She laughed and said, âYou donât like it? I like it.â
The light in the car was dim but the womanâs eyes looked as if they were embellished with little stars. They were bright and beautiful. A hint of darkness flashed across Joelâs eyes and he turned away.
âItâs fine.â
After he said this, he stepped on the accelerator and sped off.
The party was held on a yacht. The people who attended were dignitaries, movie stars, and business moguls of every industry. The female companions that they brought were not necessarily their wives or girlfriends. Some were friends, sisters, secretaries, employees, and even more whose relationships were unclear.
Lucy took Joelâs arm and walked in. When they got to the lobby, a person with blonde hair and blue eyes enthusiastically welcomed them.
âHello! Joel, long time no see!â
Joel grabbed a glass of wine from the server, clinked his glass, and drank a sip of wine.
âI heard youâll be expanding in China. I guess Iâll be seeing you around then.â
That person was quick-witted and did not engage in any more small talk when Joel said this.
âOkay. Weâll get together next time.â
He then took a step back and smiled warmly at Lucy. Lucy also politely returned the smile and followed Joel in.
âHey! Isnât that Second Young Master Foster? He actually came!â
âWhere? Where? Ah! It is him! Eh? Whoâs that woman next to him? She looks familiar.â
âI recognize her. Sheâs Lucy Katz, the number one star under Xinghui. Who wouldâve thought that sheâd hook up with Joel? Looks like she has climbed to the top now.â
âHa! Who knows what kind of seductress means she used?â
âWhat else can it be? If a woman treats a man well, what else could she not get from him? Not to mention that person is Second Young Master Foster.â
âThatâs not right. I heard that Second Young Master Foster already has a girlfriend. She was popular before. Her name was...Oh! Jada Swanson.â
âNo way! She still dares to hook up with Second Young Master Foster? Is she not afraid that Jada Swanson will find out...â
The voices of women gossiping could be heard. On this type of occasion, men would not say a word even if they felt equally curious. Only the bored women would gather together to engage in gossip when their male companions were networking.
Lucy held onto Joelâs arm. Her steps were firm and steady as if she was unaffected by the gossip.

The host was a middle-aged man with a big belly. Lucy had seen him before at some event. He was a property magnate from Country S. The last time she saw him, he was arrogant, but now he was attentive and welcoming.
âSecond Young Master Foster! Welcome! Welcome! This way please.â
Joel nodded his head slightly. The lobby was filled with lights and music. There were already a few couples on the dance floor. He looked down at Lucy and asked, âCan you dance?â
Lucy raised her eyebrows. Her beautiful eyes flashed confidence.
âOf course.â
The two of them then slid onto the dance floor. Lucy used to take dance lessons. Her steps were graceful. Under the lights in her pale tulle gown, she looked like an angel flying around and it quickly attracted many peopleâs attention.
From above, Joel looked at her with deep eyes and his lips unconsciously curled up into a smile.
