Chapter 588
Spoiled by the President
Therefore, he did not think much about it.
Lucy looked at the time.
âItâs getting late, I need to go back to rest now.â
Joel was reluctant to separate with her. After all, the two of them had only decided to be officially together, so it was no wonder that he felt reluctant.
However, he knew that this type of thing should not be rushed at first, otherwise it would be easy to screw up.
Thus, he just nodded, took her hand and said, âIâll send you.â
This time, Lucy did not refuse.
Joel followed her until the entrance of her house, watched her open the door and entered her house. He then pulled her in to kiss her lips again and finally waved goodbye.
Lucy smiled as she watched him leave, they were like a really close couple.
Once the elevator was there, he entered it. The doors then closed and the elevator went down.
The smile on her face collapsed instantly.
Lucy closed the door, covered her face and sat onto the floor.
There was only a wall lamp at the entrance, its dim yellow light shone onto her body like she was a lonely island in the night.
She sat on the rug as she hugged her legs, her face buried in between her knees, as if all of her energy had been drained, and she did not feel like moving at all.
Lucyâs entire being, from her body to her heart, felt extremely tired.
She knew that Joel sincerely loved her, and what he said now just was from the bottom of his heart.
Yet because of this, she felt scared.
She was scared that she was not as good as what he thought.
She was scared that one day, she would disappoint him.
Lucy sighed as she thought about this and only stood up after a while.
However, at that moment, she heard a slow and long breath coming from the inside.
She was stunned and her whole body stiffened instantly.
To be precise, that was not the sound of breathing, but a sleeping manâs snoring sound.
There is someone in the bedroom?
Lucyâs face became pale as she thought of this.
After hesitating, she still held back and did not call Joel who just left to come back.
Instead, she tip-toed to the kitchen to get a cooking knife, then went towards the bedroom.
She did not actually know who was the one making the sound.
It was already late, the man who appeared at her home suddenly, was obviously not a good person.
Could it be a crazy fan?
Or...
She did not dare to turn on the lights in fear of waking him up. She just took out her phone and pressed the numbers for the police and left a finger above the âcallâ button so she could immediately call the police if something were to happen.
The light from her phoneâs screen lit up a small path, so she slowly walked towards the bedroom.
The bedroom was not closed tightly, it was only slightly closed by the person inside.
She raised her hand and slowly pushed open the door. Through the dim light, there seemed to be someone laying on the bed.
The person was lying on his side with his back faced against her while his body was covered by a blanket.
The lights were too dim as there was only a little moonlight and the weak light from her phoneâs screen, so she could not see the person clearly. She could only see his figure which looked like a slender middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man slept soundly as if he had no fear or worry about being in another personâs house, he even snored from time to time.
Lucy held the kitchen knife in her hand, after thinking about it, she held it in another hand and took a stick that was usually used to dry clothing.
Once everything was in place, she walked towards the bed and hit the personâs head.
A bursting cry sounded in the bedroom.
Lucy did not dare to say anything in fear of being recognised by him. After all, she had a special status, so she just hit him in hopes of chasing him out.
As expected, since he was hit in a daze, he just got up and ran towards the door subconsciously.
She also chased and hit him along the way.
At some point, someone switched on the lights.
The lights in the living room immediately lit up.
She then saw a familiar figure.
Lucy was shocked.
âFourth Cecil?â
She put down the stick in her hand, startled and angry, âWhy are you here?â
Fourth Cecil also reacted at that moment. He was preparing to run out with his hands on his head, but got angry instantly once he saw that it was her.
He put down his hands, pointed at her and yelled, âYou damn girl, how dare you hit me, do you know that Iâm your father?â
He was not scared of Lucy, he even thought that he could have eaten her up.
He was just preparing to run away just now because he was confused by her sudden attack. His bodyâs natural reaction was to get away.
Now that he had got back to his senses, he felt angry and embarrassed. Over the years, it was he who had always acted fiercely in front of her mother and her, when was he ever beaten by them?
Lucyâs face became cold instantly and said, âWhat did you come here for?â
âIâm here...â
Before he finished speaking, he saw that she was holding a kitchen knife in her other hand. His expression changed unnaturally and was immediately taken aback.
âPut down your things first then Iâll tell you about it.â
Now that Lucy knew that the one in the house was him, she naturally would not attack him anymore, so she put down the knife.
She then sat on the couch cross-legged and said impatiently, âIf you have something to say, then say it quickly!â
Fourth Cecil walked over and sat on the other end of the couch.
He looked at Lucy, paused for a few seconds and said suddenly, âI heard that you mother has found a heart donor?â
Lucy was stunned and looked at him in shock.
âHow did you know?â
Before that, Nell had called her so she knew that there was hope. She then visited her mother and told her a little about it.
It was to make her mother feel relieved and not worry about her illness.
Yet she knew her motherâs character, firstly, Fourth Cecil might not know that she was currently in St. Petersburg Hospital, and even if he did, he might not be able to get in.
Secondly, her mother knew what kind of person he was, so naturally, she would not say much to him.
Thus, Lucy was surprised when he said that.
Fourth Cecil laughed coldy, â It doesnât matter how I know about it, sheâs my wife after all. Now that a suitable heart has been found, the surgery will be done soon right? Itâs only natural for me as a husband to take care of her by her bedside, donât you think?â
Lucy frowned.
She knew him too well, he was someone that would not do something if it would not benefit him.
Him taking care of her by her bedside?
What a joke.
