Chapter 604

Spoiled by the President

Now, to think that he would lower himself so much and offer to carry her with such gentleness, he truly was a God amongst men.

With that in mind, her heart started to pound once more, almost as if it was a caged animal trying to break free from her chest.

Simon carried Carina all the way to the hospital. Luckily for them, there were still doctors on duty at that hour.

Understanding that she had injured her leg, they quickly had her take a seat as they went to prepare some disinfectant and bandages. Once the preparation was complete, the doctor had the nurses bring her into a private room to help her out of her leggings before having them treat the wound.

With that, Carina hurriedly said to Simon, “Brother Si, I should be fine now. The doctors will take care of my wound, you can go ahead and deal with Lucy’s situation.”

She was not a frail melodramatic girl. She fully understood that this was nothing more than a minor injury.

The one who was in real danger was Lucy Katz.

Even at this point, she still did not know what was going on on Lucy’s side of things.

Upon hearing her say that, Simon took a look at the wound on her knee and asked the doctor for some reassurance. After confirming that everything was indeed fine, he finally nodded.

“Alright, then you stay here and take a rest once they finish treating the wound. Don’t rush back there on your own, wait for my call.”

As he said that, he seemed to realize that he still had not gotten Carina’s phone number.

Hence, he asked for her phone and quickly saved his number in her contacts.

Seeing him type a string of numbers rapidly on her phone, make a call, and hang up once the call went through, her heart pounded once more as she flushed with nervousness and excitement.

God! What was she doing?

Not only was she carried by her man-crush, but she now had this man-crush’s phone number!

Oh mighty God above, what did she do to deserve such a miraculous luxury? She must be dreaming! How else could this be possible?

However, at this point, as these thoughts coursed through her head, Simon Wilburn was completely oblivious through it all.

After calmly saving his number, he returned her phone to her.

Then, he reiterated in a serious manner, “Once you’re fully treated, do not leave on your own. Wait for my call here. If you really want to head back to the hotel, call someone to come and pick you up. It’s so late now, it’s not safe for you to go back on your own, especially now that something has already happened to your boss. If something happens to you at this point, it would just add fuel to the fire.”

Carina nodded meekly.

Seeing her obedient expression, she looked almost like a well-trained puppy.

Looking at this girl, for some weird reason seemed to have turned Simon’s concerned mood for the better.

He chuckled as he subconsciously reached his hand out and started to pat her head.

After realizing what was happening, the two instantly stiffened.

Simon quickly pulled back his hand before giving her a flustered smile.

“Umm... Then... If there’s nothing else, I’ll head over now.”

Carina had also managed to compose herself again as she hurriedly nodded. “Y-y-yes! Take care!”

With that, Simon headed off.

After he left, Carina covered her face that was currently as red as a beetroot, screaming internally over what had just happened. Then, she nervously giggled to herself with her hands still over her face.

On the other side, the authorities had already arrived.

Simon and the company had already given them a heads-up by explaining the whole scenario to them. When the officers took a look at the damages on the cars, they came to an inference that was exactly as Simon had hypothesized earlier.

Then, they sent out a squad to search the surrounding areas, whilst the rest of them headed back to the station to check the security cameras in search of any suspicious three-wheelers on the nearby roads.

As he thought about Carina who was still in the hospital, Simon did not tag along with them. Instead, he went back to the hospital to escort her back to her hotel.

To be honest, Carina did not think he would come back for her. She was already planning to call a cab or have one of her colleagues from the crew to pick her up.

However, before she could make the calls, he was already back.

With the darkness of the night in the background, his black windbreaker just accentuated his height and attractiveness as he walked towards the hospital in the snow.

Seeing her standing at the entrance, he chuckled. “How are you feeling? They’re already starting their investigation over there, so I came over to send you back to the hotel.”

Instantly, Carina felt like she was enveloped by a huge blanket of warmth.

She quickly nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine. Thank you.”

Simon just smiled, not uttering a single word more.

He then walked up and grabbed her in his arms, carrying her back to the hotel.

In less than ten minutes, they had arrived at the hotel.

After escorting her all the way up to her room, Simon left.

Naturally, there was no way Carina could fall asleep. After all, Lucy was still missing.

However, this did not change the fact that she was ecstatic over Simon’s presence and actions today.

Yet, this feeling of ecstasy was once again overshadowed as soon as she thought about the dangers Lucy might be facing at the moment.

On the other hand, Nell, who was sleeping soundly, suddenly heard the ringing of her phone.

She had been overseas for the past couple of days and only returned to this country yesterday.

Still feeling the jet lag, she knew that, unless it was an emergency, a normal person would not decide to give her a call at 3 am in the middle of the night.

Groggy from her slumber, she grabbed her phone and took a look at the caller ID. It was from Hannah!

As she frowned at the sight of this incoming call, a bad feeling churned up in her gut about this.

Gideon was seemingly also awakened by the sudden phone call. Turning over and pulling her into his embrace, he mumbled, “Who’s calling at this hour?”

At this point, Nell was already half-awake as she quickly replied, “It’s Hannah. Something must’ve happened. You go back to sleep, I’ll come back after I take this call.”

Once she said that, she moved his hand out of the way and walked out of the room, phone in hand.

After walking down the hallway outside of their room, she picked up the call.

“Hannah, what’s wrong?”

On the other end of the call, Hannah’s voice was filled with urgency.

“Elder Sister Nelly! There’s an emergency!”

Nell frowned when she heard that. If she was half-awake at the start, she was definitely fully awake right now.

Her heart sank as she asked, “What exactly happened?”

“Lucy is missing! Tonight, after we wrapped things up, she was kidnapped when she was on the way back to her hotel with Carina! They still haven’t found her!”

Nell was completely shell-shocked!

Never had she expected that something as crazy as this would happen.

She had to take a few seconds just to recover from the shock of this information. She hurriedly asked, “Have you called the police? What did they say?”

Hannah frantically replied, “We already did, but they said that there’s still not a lot of clues at this point.”

Nell bit her lip as her hand subconsciously moved to grab on to the rails on the side of the hallway.

After a long silence, she said in a muffled voice, “Deal with the crew first. Other than the director, do not let anyone know about this. If any of this gets leaked to the media, immediately shut all of it down. This incident must never be leaked to the public.”

Hannah frantically replied, “Yes!”

Chapter 487 The End Pt. 5 There was a reason that Nell gave out this order. In the past, there had been a similar case of a celebrity being kidnapped where the kidnappers had originally just done it for the money.

However, as information about the kidnapping was leaked out to the media, the public went into a frenzy, with news sources providing constant coverage of the incident and some even followed the investigation closely.

As the kidnapper garnered so much attention, under the immense pressure, they decided to murder the celebrity.

Ultimately, the coverage did not help the victim at all. On the contrary, some would argue that it became the motivating factor towards the murder of the victim.

Hannah also understood the possibility of this kind of tragedy happening once more. Thus, even without Nell’s orders, she would have done the same thing.
