Chapter 612
Spoiled by the President
Joel did not know about all the people Fourth had killed, so he thought that Lucy had claimed he was crazy because he had kidnapped and terrified her. He nodded and reached out to take her hand in his.
Turning to Mike, he said, âStay with him for now and alert the police about what happened here. Let them lock him up first, and Iâll take care of the rest later.â
Mike nodded. âGot it.â
Then, he escorted Fourth away.
Fourth was going to say something as he was shoved away, but Mike stuffed something in his mouth to silence him.
It was only then that Joel turned back to Lucy and asked, âHow are you feeling? Are you hurt?â
She shook her head. âIâm fine. He didnât hurt me.â She did not suffer any injuries aside from the uncomfortable numbness she felt after her hands and feet had been bound together for a long period of time.
Joel was satisfied with her answer, so he ordered the chauffeur to drive them home.
About 20 minutes later, the car stopped in front of Lucyâs condominium block.
Carina had long since been notified of the news that Lucy had been found. She dropped everything she was doing and rushed over the second she received the news. Her eyes fogged over when she saw that Lucy was back in one piece in Joelâs arms.
âLucy!â
She ran toward her.
Lucy extended her arms as Carina rushed in to give her a big hug.
The actress still felt a little weak despite not suffering any injuries since she had not eaten anything for a day and had been tied up for quite some time. As a result, the force with which Carina slammed into her arms made her wobble, and she would have fallen if Joel had not reached out and supported her with an arm.
Lucy chuckled and said, âItâs okay. Iâm fine, and Iâm back!â
Carina was already in tears, clutching her arm tightly and refusing to let her go. âLucy, you scared me. I thought...I thought...â
âYou thought youâd never see me again?â Lucy grinned.
Carina wailed even louder.
Joel watched this scene with a disapproving frown, suppressing his urge to push her away. âThatâs enough! Are you still not done?â he said coldly.
Carina was startled by Joelâs harsh tone. She let go of Lucy and threw a cowardly glance at Joelâs towering figure.
Lucy side-eyed him. âDonât be so forceful. Youâre scaring her.â
Joel hummed but did not bother to retort. He bent and swept Lucy off her feet, carrying her into the condominium.
Lucyâs legs had gone back to normal a long time ago, so she was startled because she did not expect him to carry her. She tugged on his sleeve and whispered, âWhat are you doing?â
Joelâs face was devoid of any emotions. âCanât you see? Iâm taking you home.â
âI can walk on my own.â
âHa! I can see that.â
Lucy did not know what to say. She could not understand what was going on with this man, but she did not exactly mind being carried like this. They did not say another word.
He carried her all the way to her floor and opened the door. It was only when they were in her room that he put her down on the sofa.
He turned to Carina and said, âLet your boss take a bath and get her something to eat. Take good care of her.â
Carina did not dare to say a word to him after that episode down there. His formidable aura was comparable to that of a mafia bossâs. All she did was nod repeatedly at his words.
After finally getting a response from her, Joel turned back to Lucy. He bent and crouched in front of her.
Taking her hand in his, he murmured, âDonât be afraid. Iâll have Mike stand guard outside your room. Itâs safe here. Nobody but me can enter.â
Lucy frowned and asked involuntarily, âWhere are you going?â
Joelâs lips tugged up into a lopsided smile.
âOh, are you worried about me?â
âI...â
Of course, she was concerned, but she did not feel like admitting it now that he had said it out loud. She stuttered and scrambled for words for a moment before giving up. âWhoâs worried about you? Donât look too much into things.â
Joel chuckled. He knew that she was just being stubborn, so he did not press on.
âIâm going to the police station to cooperate with their investigation. You should eat something and then rest up. They might pay you a visit tomorrow.
Donât be afraid. Iâll be right by your side,â he whispered gently.
Lucy figured just as much and she nodded.
Joel continued, âIâve blocked this from reaching the media and your filming crew too. Nobody knows anything about this, let alone who Fourth Cecil is.
You donât have to worry.â
She nodded and said, âOkay.â
Then, he stood up and was about to leave when Lucy remembered something. âWait!â
He halted his steps and looked back at her.
Lucy stood up and stepped in front of him. After dwelling on her thoughts for a moment, she said, âThereâs one more thing. Fourth locked me up in a warehouse on the outskirts of town. Itâs a desolate area. There were a few other people with him, but I donât know who they are. All I know is that Fourth killed every single one of them. They are now locked in a basement. You should let the police know and tell them to look for it.â
Although these people were not saints, she did not think she had the heart to let them die such an uncertain death. On top of that, their corpses would be discovered sooner or later. She would save the police a lot of time and effort by telling them about it now.
Fourth would not be charged for merely kidnapping this time. He had become deranged and would not escape without being prosecuted by law.
Joel was taken aback by Lucyâs words. He did not expect Fourth to do such a thing. âHow many people?â
Lucy frowned and tried her back to remember. âI think there may be around four or five of them? Iâm not sure of the exact number. I can take you there if you need me to. I remember the way.â
That was because Fourth had asked her to drive the car when they were on their way back, so she had made sure she remembered the path.

ï¤Chapter 487 The End Pt. 5 Joel nodded. His heart could not help but throb in pain at the sight of her. He reached out an arm suddenly, pulled her into his arms, and squeezed hard.
Lucy did not know what he was thinking. She looked up at him curiously when he let her go.
The man did not say anything though. Rather, he leaned down and kissed her. Then, he loosened her hold on her. âWait for me to come home,â he whispered.
Lucy nodded, and he finally left.
Mike had already brought two people over to stand guard outside Lucyâs door. Another car was parked outside the condominium.
Lucyâs place was huge, so it warranted such meticulous protection. Nothing could go wrong now.
In fact, she should be out of danger as long as Fourth was behind bars.
Nevertheless, Joel still arranged for these as safety precautions.
Firstly, it was to look out for the possibility that Fourth might have an accomplice who would try to avenge him now that he was caught.
Secondly, he was trying to make Lucy feel safe in her own home. She had been through a lot, and what she needed right now was to have someone protecting her from outside her house. It did not matter that she most likely was not in any danger anymore. Doing this would at least assure her that she would be safe.
