Chapter 669
Spoiled by the President
Lucy Katz glared at him furiously.
âYou dare to say that?â
Joel Foster smiled and stretched out his hand to gently caress the corners of her mouth. âIâm sorry, I got carried away and couldnât control myself. Iâll bring you to the doctor in a while.â
Upon hearing him mention going to the doctor, Lucyâs face reddened.
She gritted her teeth and said, âShut up! Iâm not going. If you want to go you can go by yourself.â
The petite ladyâs angry expression did not seem particularly infuriated, rather it was more of a petulant pout.
Joel felt the raging urge that he had fought so hard to quench, starting to bubble up again.
In order to avoid doing something he would regret, he changed the topic.
âWe will be going back this afternoon. Are there any more places you would like to go? I will accompany you.â
Lucy thought for a while. Honestly, it was rare for her to get a day off, so all she wanted to do was stay inside the room and sleep. She did not want to go anywhere.
In addition, this manâs despicable acts last night caused her entire body to ache until now. She was in no condition to go anywhere.
Hence, she shook her head.
When Joel saw that, he did not push further. After confirming the time and having lunch, they went home.
Upon returning to Orchid Villa, the servants were all there.
Since Lucy did not sleep well the night before, the moment she got home, she dragged herself into the room and slept.
Joel had some company matters to be dealt with in the afternoon, so he went to the company.
Lucy did not get a deep sleep, but she slept for a long time. She woke up intermittently and went back to sleep, only finally waking up at seven oâ
clock at night.
In summer, the days were long and the nights were short, so the sky was not completely dark yet when she woke up at seven oâ clock.
When she woke up, she squinted her eyes and got out of bed to pull the curtains back. Seeing the twilight sun outside, she stretched her body.
Her stomach was rumbling. She felt ravenous.
She changed clothes and headed downstairs, coincidentally bumping into Joel who had just come inside.
She glanced at the wall clock and asked, âYou were gone for so long?â
It was only a little past two in the afternoon when they came back, and Joel had left immediately. Why did a small matter take so long to resolve?
Joel glanced at her and replied, âActually, I was done by six, then I stopped to buy something.â
With that, he slipped into his house slippers and walked up to her. Grabbing her waist, he pushed her into the bedroom.
Lucy grumbled with a frown, âWhat are you doing? Iâm hungry, I want to eat dinner.â
Joel persuaded her gently, âWe can eat later, this will only take a minute, I promise.â
Thus, Lucy allowed herself to be led into the bedroom.
She thought this man was going to do something else, but instead, he retrieved a tube of ointment from his pocket. She focused her gaze. Isnât that the ointment for the wound at the corner of her mouth?
Her little face of indifference turned beet red in an instant. She looked up and saw a smile plastered across his face. He coaxed her, saying, âI went all the way to St. Petersburg Hospital and got this from the doctor. Itâs supposedly very effective, just one application and youâll feel better. Tonight, it wonât feel so painful when you eat.â
Lucy cracked her knuckles, gnashed her teeth and roared, âJoel Foster!â
Joel did not want her to get angry, so he tried to calm her down. âIâm sorry, Iâm sorry, itâs all my fault. This husband got too excited and couldnât help it.
I wonât do it again, I swear.â
Lucy had no choice. Recalling the painful manner in which she ate lunch today, she relented and allowed him to apply the ointment for her.
The ointment did not have any particular smell. In fact, it felt cool after being applied to her wound, it was comfortable.
After the ointment was applied, Lucy checked her reflection in the mirror. There was no trace around her mouth, so the ointment probably got absorbed immediately upon application. This was a good thing.
This way, no one would notice it, which would be even more embarrassing.
Thinking about this, she did not comment any further. After the ointment had been applied, she went downstairs with Joel to have dinner.
As usual, dinner was a lavish affair. However, before Joel returned, he had already instructed the cook to prepare lighter dishes.
Therefore, most of the dishes served on the table were mostly quite light and healthy.
At first, Lucy did not know the reason, until Sister Leila brought up a plate of blanched green vegetables and smiled at her. âMadam, if youâre feeling heaty recently, Iâve also specially prepared a bitter gourd dish for you, which will be coming next. Although bitter gourds can be a little bitter, they are very effective at reducing heat. You must eat some.â
Lucy was bewildered. She stared at Sister Leila in confusion.
In her heart, she wondered, since when was I heaty?
She did not feel particularly heaty recently.
Soon enough, a possibility crossed her mind.
Instinctively, her hand rose up to touch the wound on the corner of her mouth. She turned to look at Joel and saw him holding back a snigger. She immediately understood what had happened.
There was a flash of anger in her face, but Lucy held her tongue because Sister Leila was present.
Finally, she exhaled lengthily and said, âI understand, Sister Leila.â
Sister Leila left with a satisfied expression, and came back with a plate of bitter gourd.
Lucy smiled menacingly at the man in front of her. âJoel, I heard that youâre feeling a little heaty as well, why donât you share this plate of bitter gourd with me?â
Joel was stricken.
Everyone knew that the food he hated the most was bitter gourd.
Looking at the pale green vegetable, he said with a dry smile, âDear wife, Iâm not heaty.â
âWho said so? Yellow urine, bad breath, acne breakouts... What else could it be, other than a heaty body?â
Joel: â...â
Next to them, Sister Leila and the other servants were holding back their laughter with much difficulty.
Before this, they did not realize that the Madam was so concerned about Second Young Master, to notice all these details.
They were truly a loving couple.
Joel, on the other hand, felt like he was being framed.
When did he have yellow urine, bad breath and an acne breakout? The woman was spewing nonsense!
Regardless, he dared not ask or say anything due to the threatening look in Lucyâs eyes.
He had to bear the bitter consequences of his own actions.
Therefore, in the end, almost all of the bitter gourd ended up in his belly.
It was so bitter that, the moment dinner was finished, Joel ran to eat several mouthfuls of watermelon.
Seeing the look of pure agony etched across Joelâs face improved Lucyâs mood tremendously.
Tomorrow, she still had one more day to rest.
After thinking it over, she had nothing to do, so she invited Nell Jennings to go shopping.
Nell had been very busy lately, so it was not easy to take time a day off from her busy schedule.
However, Janet Hancock had a new movie that was about to be released, so she was busy doing promotions and had no time to hang out with Nell.
It so happened that Lucy Katz called, hence Nell agreed to go shopping with her.
The two of them went to Times Square and shopped around. Both of them bought several sets of clothing.
There were a number of major brands here that were frequented by celebrities. Lucy took a fancy to a dress and was about to go in and try it on, when Nellâs phone rang unexpectedly.
