Chapter 697

Spoiled by the President

Joel waved his hand indifferently.

“Don’t worry. Besides, my dad will be there. If it’s something that even he can’t handle, then it’s even more useless for me to worry.”

Lucy thought about it and agreed. Thus, she did not say anything else.

On the other side, Nell had taken care of the company affairs and booked a ticket to Country F and prepared to go abroad.

When Gideon learned about it, he asked what she was planning to do.

Nell had dodged the question by saying that it was for business. In reality, she was going there because of the deal she made with Gregory Graham before. Now, it was time for her to take action.

However, Gideon did not know about this matter.

She also did not intend to let him know. After all, the relationship between the Leith and Graham families was very delicate right now.

Her relationship with Gregory was only for transactional purposes and had nothing to do with her identity as Mrs. Leith. If Gideon found out about this matter, it would be very hard to say that the Leith family had nothing to do with this. After all, everyone knew that she was now Gideon Leith’s real wife.

However, she could not handle this matter using the identity of Mrs. Leith. She had to use her previous identity as Seven.

This was why Nell did not tell Gideon about this matter.

After Gideon heard her answer, he did not say anything else and just instructed her to be safe on the road and call him when she arrived. Then, he let her go.

Nell would be there for about four days. If everything went smoothly, she would be back in the afternoon of the fourth day. Therefore, when it came to packing her luggage, she did not have much to bring.

She finished packing soon and first went downstairs to Little Viemond to take a look at the child.

It was noon, and the boy was taking a nap.

The two-and-a-half-year-old child looked pink and chubby as he slept soundly.

She leaned over and lovingly kissed him on his pink little face and whispered, “Mommy is going on a business trip this time. You have to listen to Daddy and Aunt at home, okay? Don’t be naughty.”

She did not know if it was because of their mother-and-child bond, but her son’s eyebrows moved, and his small mouth even mumbled twice, as if he was responding to her. Nell smiled at the sight of this.

After saying goodbye to Little Viemond, she went to Lizzy’s room to check up on her.

Lizzy was grown up now and becoming more and more graceful. The seven-year-old girl was already beginning to look like a beauty, and her thick eyebrows and big eyes looked especially cute.

At this time, she was also napping in her room.

However, a seven-year-old and a two-year-old were still different. On the surface, they seemed to be taking a nap obediently, but in reality, they were not asleep at all.

She was rolling around in bed reading her favorite princess comic book and refusing to sleep.

When Nell entered, Lizzy was buried under the covers.

By the side, the maid, who was taking care of Lizzy, saw Nell come in and smiled helplessly at her.

Nell waved her hand and asked the maid to leave. Then, she sat down by the bed.

“Lizzy, are you asleep?” she asked softly.

There was no answer from the blanket although there was a bulge in the middle of the soft pink quilt where Lizzy hid her head under.

Nell felt somewhat helpless at the sight of this. She reached out and tugged on the blanket, but a small force pulled it back as if the child really did not want to come out.

Nell could not help but smile. “Lizzy, don’t cover your head like that. You’ll find it’s stuffy.”

There was still no response from the blanket.

Nell knew that Lizzy was not asleep. It was nothing more than Lizzy throwing a tantrum after hearing that she was leaving again, so she sighed helplessly.

“Lizzy, if you don’t want to come out, then I’ll leave. When I’m gone, you won’t be able to see me for several days. Will you miss me? Even if you won’t miss me, I’ll miss you a lot. Lizzy, are you really not going to look at me again?” Nell coaxed softly.

After a long time, the quilt finally moved. Before long, a cute little head poked out.

Lizzy looked at her with her wide and sparkling eyes and a pout on her small mouth. “Really? Will you really miss me when you’re gone?”

Nell did not hold back the chuckle from her mouth. She plucked Lizzy out of the blanket and held her in her arms.

“My silly little Lizzy, you’re Mommy’s sweetheart. Of course, Mommy will miss you.”

Lizzy looked at her, aggrieved. “But you haven’t been with me for a long time. It’s my birthday in a few days, but you have to leave now...”

At some point, tears welled up in her eyes.

Heartbroken, Nell quickly hugged Lizzy and wiped her tears away as she cajoled, “Lizzy, I’m sorry. Mommy has been busy these days and hasn’t had the time to accompany you. Don’t worry, your birthday is next weekend, right? Mommy promises that she’ll be back by then to spend your birthday with you, okay?”

Lizzy pursed her small lips and did not speak.

Nell thought about it and could only explain, “The truth is, Mommy made an agreement with a friend to meet abroad in two days, and this appointment was made a long time ago. You don’t want Mommy to be the one to break the promise, do you?”

Lizzy tilted her head and looked at Nell. “Is it a very important appointment?”

Nell nodded heavily. “Yes, it’s very important. They once saved my life. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am now.”

Lizzy blinked as if she understood something. She then nodded. “Okay, then you can go, but you have to come back before my birthday.”

Nell smiled when Lizzy finally agreed. “Alright, let’s make a pinky promise. I’ll definitely come back so that we can celebrate your birthday together.”

Lizzy brightened up and grinned, and hooked her pinky with Nell’s.

“Pinky, pinky bow-bell. Whoever tells a lie will sink down to the bad place, and never rise up again.”

—

Nell came out of the room after coaxing the child.

Chapter 487 The End Pt. 5 Outside the gate, Nancy was already waiting there in her car.

Nancy had already truly become one of her people. She was not just a bodyguard that Gideon had placed by her side.

In other words, she only listened to Nell. It was not like before whereby she would report what Nell did to Gideon.

This was also why Nell was willing to take her along this time.

She was actually no longer as bold and capricious as before. After all, she was now a mother of two and she had her own family. Even if she did not think of herself, she had to think of her family.

In this world, love truly was the warmest weak spot. It was sometimes easy to become a hindrance to people and stop them from doing some things.

However, one had to admit that it was indeed the most beautiful and best bond in the world.
