Chapter 708
Spoiled by the President
Nell scoffed. âThen how did you know that the people who hurt me have tattoos of a flame on the back of their necks?â
Gregory replied wanly, âI saw him with my own eyes.â
Nell was shocked and frowned.
âWhat do you mean? Didnât you say that you found me while blasting for fish?â
Gregory could not help but laugh when he heard her response.
Still, he got back to business. âMm, true, but it doesnât mean that I didnât see anything else.â
He kept mum on purpose. As a result, Nell was irritated.
âGregory Graham, canât you tell me everything at once?â
âYes, I can. Kiss me, Little Seven, and Iâll tell you everything.â
âYou!â
Nell closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and tried her best to snuff out her urge to whack him.
After that, she laughed wickedly. âSuddenly, I have no interest in listening to you anymore. Say, do you think Iâll be able to make it in time if I come back now, seek you out of the Graham family and whack you?â
Gregory sensed how diabolical she sounded.
He knew that she was genuinely pissed, so he sniggered and stopped fooling around.
He responded in a no-nonsense manner, âAlright, Iâll tell you the truth. Before I got you out of the water, I saw them, but I didnât pay much attention to them.â
âLater, when I dragged you out of the sea, I noticed that apart from our boat, those fellowsâ boat was the only one that showed up near that area. Of course, we didnât throw you into the water, so if there arenât any special circumstances, they are probably the ones who dump you into the sea.â
âMoreover, the surrounding area of the sea was huge and you werenât wearing a life vest, so itâs unlikely that you floated from someplace far away and survived. The answer simply revealed itself.â
Nell listened and a deep crease appeared between her brows.
She asked, âDo you remember how those people looked like, and any other characteristics?â
âNothing much, there were people from the East and the West on that boat. The only thing that connected all of them was the symbol of a flame on the back of their necks.â
Gregory paused, then continued, âI looked up that symbol later but didnât find anything unusual. It had nothing to do with me, so I didnât bother. If youâre keen to know, you can look it up yourself.â
Nell was momentarily silent.
Then, she ordered, âAfterwards, draw that symbol and send me a photo of it.â
Gregory grinned. âEh, are you asking for my help, Little Seven?â
âGregory, donât burn bridges with others in case you meet them again. Donât let others hate this theory, you should understand.â
Gregory tutted again but he did not reject her. He said yes and hung up.
He did produce a draft and sent it to Nell.
The draft was done in a rush and the symbol was hard to decipher.
Nell scrutinized it and it took her some time before she managed to see the pattern.
Gregoryâs draft was very crude, so she traced it on a separate sheet of paper. Finally, she realized it was indeed the symbol of a flame.
A wrinkle slowly formed between her eyebrows.
She wondered whether she was imagining things, but she had an inkling that she had seen the symbol somewhere before.
Suddenly, she experienced a flashback. Brief scenes flashed across her mindâs eye.
As the scenes showed up rapidly, she was unable to pinpoint what they were before they disappeared.
Then, a sharp pain followed.
Nell groaned and her fingers began to tremble. The sheet of paper slid out of her hand and fell onto the floor. She cupped her head with her hands and curled up into a ball.
Nancy, who was in the living room, overheard the noise and came in. She was shocked to see Nell squatting by the window with her hands around her head.
She rushed towards her and asked anxiously, âNelly, whatâs going on?â
There was a tight frown on Nellâs face as the horrible agony spread across her head. It felt like someone was battering her with a hammer.
She did not reply but clenched her teeth and her face was drained of color.
Nancy was frightened and wanted to make a phone call.
âDonât worry, Iâll call an ambulance.â
However, before she could dial the numbers, someone tugged at her sleeve forcefully.
She turned around and saw Nellâs pale face. She lifted her head from between her knees weakly and said, âItâs ok, Iâm fine.â
Nancy bent down to help her up.
âAre you sure? You look terrible.â
Nell shook her head.
With Nancyâs help, she stood up and walked towards the sofa to sit down.
âCould you get me a glass of water?â
Nancy nodded. âSure, hang on.â
Then, she headed outside.
A few seconds later, she returned with a glass of warm water.
Nell took it and sipped on the drink.
The warm water hydrated her throat and somewhat calmed her nerves.
Nancy observed Nell. When she was certain that Nell was emotionally stable, she asked in a concerned tone, âWere you... Feeling unwell just now?â
Nell shook her head.
She held the glass and sat still. She seemed distracted and confused.
âI remembered something just now.â
Nancy was taken aback.
She was unaware of Nellâs amnesia, so she did not get what the latter was saying.
Realizing this, Nell composed herself and explained, âI was injured a long time ago and lost three monthâs worth of memories. Just now, for some reason, various images flashed across my mind. I wasnât sure what they were, but my intuition tells me that those were images of the incidents that happened within those three months.â
Nancy listened and looked bewildered.
âHow come?â
Nell had no idea, but according to her intuition, it was probably related to the symbol she drew.
When she thought of this, she looked at where she was squatting earlier.
She walked towards that spot and picked up the sheet of paper.
The symbol she drew was still on the paperâs surface. It was a simple picture of a flame. It did look like a real flame that was burning her heart.
Nancy had never seen it before and felt curious.
âWhatâs this?â
Nell twitched her lips and explained, âA symbol. Itâs said that a group of people have the same symbol on the back of their necks. Have you seen these people before?â
Nancy gave it a good, hard thought, then she shook her head.
âNope.â

Even a person like Gregory Graham had not been able to find anything about them. It showed how discreet those people were.
Who were they and what did they have to do with her?
What happened during those three months nine years ago?
This entire mystery was like a fog that shrouded Nellâs heart.
If she did not get to the bottom of it, she would never feel relieved for the rest of her life.
It was already late at night. The next day, the two women had to catch the early morning flight back to their home country. Therefore, as soon as Nancy was certain that Nell was fine, she got ready for bed.
