Chapter 755

Spoiled by the President

Plus, Bryan Taylor was convinced by his close relatives. He grew more convinced that the reason his life was so miserable was because of that little brat.

The family would be better without her.

Though this thought flashed had in his heart multiple times, he dared not do anything about it.

Until one time, there was a rumor of a human trafficker in town that specifically kidnapped kids under ten years old.

Every single family with children grew paranoid when they heard the rumor.

They kept a close eye on their children in order to avoid any accidents.

However, this was undoubtedly a golden opportunity for Bryan Taylor. His eyes were popping.

Soon, a wicked idea sprouted.

That morning, her step dad, who had always been harsh, suddenly became kind and gentle to her.

He walked towards Vickie Thomas and asked her if she wanted to have fun in the county. Bryan also lured her by telling her there were countless mouth-watering delicacies, he could buy some candy for her to enjoy.

Vickie was around eight or nine years old at the time, the age where kids were curious about everything.

Plus, there was candy to eat...

Since her arrival into the Taylor family, she could not even remember how long it had been since she had eaten candy.

Vickie agreed immediately, she did not even take the time to tell her mother.

Bryan brought her to the county. He let her wait at a specific spot while he went to buy her some candy.

She was well-behaved and smart. She found a stone chair, sat down and waited for him.

However, Vickie waited and waited for a very long time, but Bryan did not come back.

The sky was getting darker and darker, only then did clever little Vickie realize something.

She was abandoned.

Her step father would not return, he hated her so much that he wanted Vickie to die. Then he would have one less burden to carry, a little brat that had nothing to do with him.

Would he be so kind hearted as to take her to play in the county and even buy her candy?

Now, Vickie had long forgotten how she felt back then.

She only remembered, once she discovered the bitter truth behind those lies. She started walking back to her home that very night.

With amazing perseverance and remarkable memory, which were almost impossible for a child to have, she walked from the county to the town and returned home, forcefully recalling the route from her memory.

She walked for a whole day and night. By the time she stood in front of the door again, Vanessa Thomas was on the verge of breakdown, madly searching for her in every corner of the county.

As for Bryan Taylor, he firmly believed that she was just a child, and it was impossible for her to return home. She had most probably been abducted by the human traffickers.

Besides, Vanessa would give up after searching for some time and understand that she might not be able to see her again.

With no worries, he lied down on his bed and slept.

By the time she returned home, Bryan Taylor was still asleep.

Bryan heard someone outside from his house knocking on the door. He thought Vanessa had returned after a fruitless effort.

He went and opened the door impatiently. He was frightened when he saw a small body standing at the door.

The next second, a big bucket filled with stinky sh*it splashed on him.

Bryan Taylor was utterly infuriated by her actions. He reacted instantly, reaching out his hand to grab her, yelling and scolding as he did so.

However, Vickie was prepared, how could she let herself get caught?

When he was not paying attention, she slipped through him like a loach.

Because of her actions, and the fact that he failed to catch her, Bryan broke into curses.

Nevertheless, it was futile no matter how angry he was.

Vickie Thomas had already ran away from him and stood somewhere nearby, ice cold eyes staring at him and said, “Do you know, if you intentionally abandon the elderly or children, you’re guilty of abandonment, I can sue you! Your reputation and wealth will be ruined, and you’ll be left with nothing.”

Bryan Taylor was stunned after listening to what she said, he had never expected her to say such a thing.

Right away, it was like adding fuel to his fire.

“You little bastard, what nonsense? What crime of abandonment? I took care of you monetarily, I gave you clothes to wear and food to eat. You are not grateful, you want to sue me? You’re getting your *ss kicked!”

After he finished, he picked up a stick, ready to hit her.

Vickie smirked as she turned and ran away.

Bryan was coated with sh*t. After chasing her for some distance, he was stopped by the passersby because his foul smell was unbearable to them.

He was asked to clean up himself before coming out again, if not the whole road would be full of sh*t. Who can stand it?

He was so furious he almost exploded.

However, in the end, he could not ignore everyone’s wishes. He went back home to clean up and changed his clothes.

By the time he cleaned up and put on fresh clothes, Vickie Thomas was nowhere to be seen.

Late at night, she appeared at the door, holding her mother’s hand. The woman had been running around the county all day.

After Vickie taught Bryan a lesson, she had gone to search for her mother.

When Vickie’s mom asked her, where she had been for the past two days, she could not find Vickie anywhere in the county. She opened up and told Vanessa everything.

Vickie thought that, with Vanessa’s love, she would be angry, divorce Bryan, bring Vickie with her and leave once and for all.

Although Vickie’s mom was shocked and furious, she remained silent after that.

Vickie was confused by her reaction, when they had dinner together in town, she held onto Vickie’s hand and placed it on her belly as she gently revealed her reason. Only then did she realize.

Vanessa Thomas had no choice, she could not do it for Vickie, for the sake of her unborn child and her family.

So, she convinced Vickie to forgive him.

Forgive and endure all his actions. For the sake of her mother and her younger brother or sister.

Vickie Thomas was stunned.

Despite her cleverness, she was still very young.

She innocently believed that her mother was the one that loved her the most.

She would give up anything for Vickie, just like how the books illustrated a mother’s love is greater than anything else.

With the facts placed in front of her eyes, only then did Vickie understand. Things were not what she thought they were.

Her mother was just a pitiful, worthless, and helpless woman that needed to depend on a man to survive.

Vanessa had no choice and without a long stick to hold onto, she supported herself, bringing Vickie and her unborn child back home together.

Vickie Thomas could not agree with the traditional mindset her mother had. A woman without a husband or even marriage, could still live a good life with her own effort.

Her mother strongly believed in traditional virtues that a woman must endure. She believed that people should learn how to forgive.

In spite of that, Vickie Thomas could never forgive.
