Chapter 767
Spoiled by the President
Vickie hesitated for a while and explained, âI went out of town.â
Jennie was stunned to hear that. In confusion, she asked, âWhat did you do outside of town?â
Because Vickie did not want to let her know what had happened to her, she did not tell Jennie the truth. Therefore, she perfunctorily replied, âTo get something done.â
She quickly moved on to another topic. âBy the way, if you have nothing much to do these few days, stay home to accompany me. I want to buy two sets of clothes tomorrow. Remember the amount I owe you first, and Iâll return it to you two days later.â
Jennie nodded. âAnyway, Iâve requested a day off, and I plan to accompany you for two days. As for the money, donât worry about it. You can spend it.
We can talk about this later.â
She knew that Vickie did not have much money, so she did not want to talk about that.
Vickie knew what Jennie was thinking. However, at this time, there was no point in explaining too much. Therefore, she did not bother mentioning it either.
That night passed peacefully.
Two of Jennieâs roommates only came back the next morning, heavily drunk. They vomited all over the floor.
Unlike Jennie, both of them were willing to accompany the guests, thus earning more tips. However, this also meant that they contributed more effort.
There was no question that they had been taken advantage of. They even drank until their digestive tracts bled.
Jennie promptly got up from bed to take care of them and helped to clean up the mess from the vomit. She also cleaned their bodies and carried them to bed.
Obviously, Vickie was woken up by the noise, but she did not offer to help.
In fact, she disliked getting close to people with whom she was not familiar. Much as she appeared friendly on the outside, she was, in fact, inwardly cold.
Thus, she just stood aside watching the situation for a while. In this case, she had somewhat visualized how Jennieâs workplace was like. She felt the need to stop Jennie from continuing her work at that kind of place anymore.
With such a thought, she then went back to her room. After washing up, she went out with Jennie together.
The two of them had breakfast first and headed to the shopping mall after that.
Based on Jennieâs usual level of consumption, the shopping mall she was planning to visit would possibly not be a luxurious one.
Vickie was obviously not at all interested in everything within the mall. Nevertheless, she did not want to disappoint Jennie, so she ended up picking a few as a change of clothes. At noon, she let Jennie leave first before she went to the place where the Vermilion Bird Organization had been previously located.
The place had turned into a ruin. Since everyone in the organization was no longer around, the place had been sold.
She stood and gazed at the place from afar without approaching it. She contemplated the training ground which had now become the football field of a school.
In fact, it felt quite good watching it at this moment.
The darkness of those days had now turned into sunny, youthful energy. It seemed as if the sun was shining its light on each branch, allowing everyone to feel its warmth.
However, what about those who were dead?
Buried deep in the ground, would they feel cold?
Vickie turned around and walked back step by step. Every tread on the ground felt extremely heavy.
Deep inside, she felt that she did not reach her goal as she had said earlier after all.
She reckoned that she could never possibly forget those important buddies. Therefore, while facing Gregoryâs brutality, she found him loathsome.
She unwittingly arrived at the seaside.
The seaside did not have a sandy beach and was surrounded by railings. Below the railings were black reefs ruggedly standing there like black, toughened hearts.
She slightly bent over, allowing her body to lean against the railing.
Staring at the boundless sea, she swore deep inside.
She must take back everything she had lost!
...
Three days later, she finally heard from Gregory.
He agreed to cooperate with her.
This outcome had always been in line with her expectations.
Upon receiving the news, Gregory sent a car to pick Vickie up at Jennieâs dorm downstairs that day.
Despite Jennieâs suspicious glance, Vickie did not explain much to her. She just calmly patted her on the shoulder to rid her of her worries. Then, she assured her that she would give her a call during her leisure time, and similarly, Jennie could call if anything happened to her. She then left.
Although Jennie was very worried, she knew she was powerless when it came to looking after Vickie. She did not have the right nor the capability, hence while watching her leave, she bit her lip strongly so that it could erase the sense of unease inside her.
Vickie got in the car and was brought all the way to the chateau.
At the same time, Gregory was in the chateau waiting for her arrival.
As the car was entering the huge manor, the black wrought iron gate resembled a behemothâs mouth that opened and roared abruptly. The car then rumbled inside.
There was a large fountain and a garden in the manor, and further inside was the main building where Gregory resided.
The car was parked right at the entrance of the main building.
The driver automatically got down from the car and opened the door for her. After getting down, Vickie looked up at the grand design of the building.
Her slightly slitted eyes squinted a little while the corner of her mouth curled up in a cool smile.
Four years later, she had finally returned!
Those scenes that had taken place here four years ago flashed past her eyes one by one as if it was a movie playing.
Those hurtful yet unforgettable emotions of love and hate seemed to be washed away by the tides of time. The only feelings that remained up to this point were hostility and hatred.
She moved forward and made her way into the house.
Spoiled by the President ï¤Chapter 766 A Three Daysâ Promise Wrong Ride, Right Lover Mr. Osborne probably knew she was coming. Therefore, he had been waiting at the entrance since early morning.
As soon as he saw her, the typically decent smile of a housekeeper appeared on his face. He said, âMiss Thomas, itâs been a while since we met.
Youâre finally here.â
Of course, Vickie could recognize Mr. Osbourne.
Back then, when she had still been at Old Director Glennâs orphanage with Gregory, Mr. Osbourne would always come and visit Gregory. As for Vickie, who had stayed with Gregory, Mr. Osbourne would naturally look after her too.
For example, if there was anything nice to eat or play with, he would always let her experience it as well. Thus, not only did they know each other, but he was also familiar with her.
Vickie looked at him and slightly nodded in agreement. Anyway, she was still very respectful of him.
âMr. Osbourne, itâs been a long while.â
Wearing a benign smile, Mr. Osbourne pushed the door open and said, âPlease come in. Young Master is inside waiting for you.â
Vickie nodded and moved forward.
Once she got into the house, she could hear a woman giggling.
The light inside was relatively dim compared to the brightness outside. In such a spacious living room, there were only a few dimly-lit floor lamps.
Squinting her eyes a little, she stopped moving forward when she was a few steps away from the entrance of the door. She waited for her eyes to adjust to the light inside.
Eventually, she clearly saw a man unexpectedly sitting on the leather couch in the living room.
Nevertheless, he was not the only one in the living room.
