Chapter 811

Spoiled by the President

Gregory Graham did not say a word.

A pair of dark eyes looked at her quietly.

Vickie Thomas was so irritated that she reached out and pushed him further away.

"Go away! Don't bother me."

She thought the man would be annoyed, but unexpectedly, he laughed lightly.

A low, slightly hoarse voice with a burning breath pounded in her ears, which was inexplicably alluring and devious.

"V, so this is what you look like when you're jealous."

His arm that she had just pushed away hitched up again, but this time, the man was smarter and did not press it on her waist. Instead, his arm hovered lightly over her, and he used his fingertips to gently pinch her small round earlobe.

"Just now after you left, I went to see Yuliana again."

Vickie's body stiffened.

Although she still had her back to him and looked like she was pouting and refusing to speak to him, in reality, her ears perked up with curiosity.

She did not know if Gregory had noticed anything different about her, but he still said indifferently, "After a while, I’ll send her away and she won’t appear in front of you ever again. Are you happy now?"

Vickie frowned.

She was silent for a moment. Eventually, she turned her head and looked at him.

Her eyes were deep with a hint of interrogation.

"Where are you sending her?"

Gregory raised his eyebrows.

"Obviously, to where she belongs."

Vickie sneered.

"Of course, you're cruel enough. She’s so devoted to you and you just dump her like that. Gregory Graham, even after 4 years, you're still just as cold and heartless!"

Gregory's face sank.

He reached out, cupped her chin, and looked deeply into her eyes.

"What do you want me to do then? You're the one who doesn't like her. Now that I'm sending her away, you're also the one who's being sarcastic.

Don't you think that's contradictory?"

Vickie's heart stumbled.

She did not feel it at first, but after being told off by him like this, she somehow felt it was true.

Vickie quirked her eyebrows and said with some impatience, "Do whatever you like. What does it have to do with me?"

After she said this, she turned her head to shake off his hand, which was still cupping her chin.

She then said in a low voice, "It's late, I'm going to sleep. You should leave."

Gregory looked at her deeply.

Vickie felt like he had almost stared a hole through the back of her head. Then, she felt a sudden lightness behind her.

The man had gotten up, jumped off the bed, and leaped out the window again.

She closed her eyes and cursed under her breath, "Psycho!"

This was his house, yet he did not use the front door and chose to sneak around through the window. This man was clearly not in his right mind!

The next day, Vickie woke up early.

She squinted at the early morning sunlight that came in through the window. When she turned her head, she saw that Andrea had pushed open the door and walked in.

“Ms. Thomas, you're awake."

Vickie nodded, stretched out her hand, and sat up with Andrea's help.

"What time is it?"

"It's 8:30 am."

Andrea smiled and looked like she was in a good mood.

"Mr. Osborne just came over and said to let him know when you wake up. The doctor that’ll help with your bandages has already arrived. He’s just waiting for you to wake up."

Vickie was slightly startled.

She looked down at the bandages wrapped around her body. It had been so long and some of the flesh wounds on her body had almost healed.

The main thing now was the injuries on her ribs and leg.

Vickie nodded, lifted a hand to smooth out her bed hair, and said, "Bring her over."

"Okay."

Andrea went down.

It was not long before the doctor was brought over.

Vickie had been treated by this doctor for all the wounds on her body since the accident, so the two were very familiar with each other.

The doctor was a 30-plus-year-old woman. She did not know what Gregory was thinking. Originally, there was a male doctor in the chateau who specialized in serving him, but he did not want him to treat her. Instead, he found another female doctor from somewhere and brought her over.

Vickie leaned against the bed and undressed to allow the female doctor to examine her and change her bandages.

Only after the bandages were changed did she ask the doctor.

"How are my injuries?"

The female doctor smiled and said, "You’re recovering well. The injuries on your head and arms are almost healed, but it's still not something to be taken lightly. The ribs and legs will take some time. In the meantime, try not to move around too much so as not to damage the bones that are healing."

Vickie nodded and asked, "How long until it heals?"

The doctor thought about it and said, "About 3 or 4 months. Recovery for bone injuries can't be rushed."

Vickie's eyebrows furrowed imperceptibly.

Three or four months...

Would it take that long?

She dropped her gaze slightly. Andrea saw the situation and smiled at the female doctor, "Dr. Tania, let me escort you out."

Dr. Tania nodded, and only then did the two of them leave one after the other.

Andrea had sent Dr. Tania out and returned not long after.

She saw that Vickie was sitting on the bed and looked like she was in contemplation judging by her tightly knit eyebrows. She smiled slightly and went over.

"Ms. Thomas, would you like some breakfast?"

Vickie came back to her senses and looked up at her.

She thought about it and said, "No, not yet. Andrea, help me with something."

Andrea froze and her eyes darkened. She then smiled and nodded.

"Sure, what is it?"

Vickie beckoned and motioned for her to come closer.

Andrea bent down and Vickie whispered in her ear. She nodded repeatedly, then got up and said, "Okay, I understand, I’ll go now."

Then she hurriedly left.

Vickie sat there, somewhat distracted.

For some reason, her mind unconsciously recalled the scene last night when that man came in through the window.

Her fine eyebrows furrowed imperceptibly, and only after a long time did they slowly relax.

Vickie did not stay in her room.

Just outside the auxiliary building’s entrance, there was a very smooth path that led to the garden, and with intricate landscaping along the way, the scenery was beautiful.

Vickie moved slowly in her electric wheelchair and breathed in the fresh morning air, which relieved her of the suffocating feeling of being cooped up in the room.

With a book on her lap, she maneuvered her wheelchair until she reached an open lawn before she stopped and chose a more shaded and quiet place to read.

There was a large tree here. It was leafy and dense, just enough to block out the morning sun.

Even though it shaded out the sun, it did not completely block the warmth from coming in. The sunlight was not glaring yet it was warm. It was just the perfect place to rest and read a book.

Vickie flattened the backrest of the wheelchair a little and then leaned back to read her book.

The book she picked out was about the theory of kendo. It was written a long time ago by an early kendo master.

If she had to read another book, she could not get into it. Since she could not do any practical exercises, she might as well take a look at some theoretical knowledge. Not to learn anything in particular, but as a way to control her emotions.
