Chapter 823
Spoiled by the President
After Gregory finished speaking, he ignored her and strode out the door.
Yuliana stayed in a daze for a long time before she finally reacted and her face changed dramatically.
Meanwhile, Vickie could not sleep that night.
She did not know if it was because of what happened or because she was in a troubled mood, but she stayed in bed with her eyes closed for a long time, and still, she was unable to fall asleep.
It was pitch black in front of her when she opened her eyes. Turning her head slightly, she took the remote control from the head of her bed and opened up the curtain to see the silvery moonlight pouring in from outside.
It suddenly reminded her of a long time ago when she was still in the orphanage.
It was also a summer night like this, where the moonlight was bright and the sky twinkled full of stars.
She could not sleep, so she sneaked into the kitchen and stole a handful of melon seeds. Then, she climbed up the stairs behind the yard and sat on the roof to watch the stars.
She ate the melon seeds while watching the stars, and even as the cool night breeze hit her, it seemed sweet.
At that moment, a young and cold voice sounded from below.
âHey, what are you doing?â
She was startled as she thought it was Old Director Glenn, so she wanted to get up and run away. However, she ended up stepping on a mossy, broken tile, and at that moment, she fell downward.
The teenager was probably shocked at seeing her fall too. He just stood there, dumbfounded and unmoving.
Fortunately, she ended up landing right where he was standing, and the two fell to the ground together with a âthumpâ.
The teenagerâs body ached everywhere due to the collision, and he felt as if his bones had fallen apart. The two had a hard time before they managed to get up from the ground.
As soon as she saw that it was him, she immediately became angry as she smashed her fist on his shoulder.
âWhat are you yelling for? You scared me to death. I thought you were Old Director Glenn.â
Little Gregory clutched onto his chest that she had hit and grew angry too.
âItâs the middle of the night and youâre sitting on the roof instead of sleeping, yet youâre blaming me for calling you?â
At the mention of this, Vickie felt a little guilty.
She could only say weakly, âWhat has that got to do with you?â
Gregory was furious, but there was nothing he could do to her, so he simply snorted.
âIf you do this again, Iâll tell Old Director Glenn and let him teach you a lesson.â
At the mention of that, Vickie was immediately afraid.
It was not easy for her to find such a place to stay. She had clothes to wear, food to eat, and even classes to study. She did not want to be thrown out.
Thus, she quickly grabbed him and begged, âOkay, okay. I was wrong, alright? Donât tell Grandpa Glenn.â
Gregory snorted, and that was the end of it.
As they stood in the small courtyard, he looked up at the roof and suddenly became a little curious.
âIs it really that comfortable to sit up there?â
Vickie said, âOf course. The inside of the house is stuffy and hot, but the roof is different. Itâs cool, and you can look at the stars. Do you want to try it too?â
Gregory had grown up heeding the rules and never tried to break them before.
So he shook his head without even thinking about it.
âNo way.â
Unexpectedly, this made Vickie more interested.
She pulled him and said, âHey, donât be in a hurry to refuse. Try it. Maybe youâll like it once you try. Iâll take you up there.â
He was reluctant but could not resist her enthusiasm. With that, he finally climbed up the stairs with her awkwardly.
The world on the roof really was different from the ground.
It was as if the sky was right above him, and he could touch it if he just reached out.
Although the orphanage home was not the tallest, it was considered a relatively tall building in this barren town.
Therefore, he could see the surrounding scenery while they sat on the roof, where the high skies and vast sea opened up in a wide panorama.
His mood could not help but improve, and he finally understood why she liked climbing to the roof so much.
At that moment, Vickie pulled a handful of melon seeds out of her pocket and gave them to him.
He was stunned but before he knew it, he heard the crunch of when the girl tossed the melon seeds into her mouth, eating it with relish.
Turning around and seeing him frozen there, she raised her eyebrows.
âWhat are you staring at? Eat. You canât just sit here and enjoy the breeze. Isnât that boring?â
Seeing this, he too learned from her example and tossed a melon seed into his mouth.
The reserved teenager had never tried anything like that before.
Climbing to the roof in the middle of the night, eating melon seeds, and watching the stars.
His heart refused on the inside, but for some reason, after looking at her bright eyes, his body subconsciously obeyed her decision.
Later, little Gregory grew secretly annoyed.
Did this little girl have some sort of magical power? How did she turn him into a rebel like her?
It was outrageous!
However, it was one thing to think and another to act.
In the days that followed, under Vickieâs leadership, he did some things that were out of line for several times.
His mouth said no every time, but his feet followed obediently.
Gradually, both of them grew up.
He did not know when it started, but it changed from her leading the way to do bad things, to him leading the way with her following behind him.
It... probably started when Gregory left the orphanage and changed his identity back to the Third Young Master of the Graham family.
Vickie did not know either. She vaguely noticed that when they met again, the man in front of her was no longer the simple young boy who frolicked with her all day long.
As the night wind blew, Vickieâs thoughts drifted far away.
It was as if she had passed through the torrent of time and had returned to that sunny afternoon.
The young man sat in the courtyard under the grape arbor. When she stepped in to meet him, that was when their stunning youth began.
...
It was already late at night.
Vickie did not know when she had fallen asleep.
In the middle of the night, she had a dream.
In the dream, there were swords and knives, mountains of corpses and blood, and countless shouts and screams of fighting mixed together, forming a chaotic and miserable world.
She was walking aimlessly with her hair down, watching her companions fall one by one. She tried to reach out to pull them, but her hand phased through their bodies â she could not touch them at all.
At that moment, a bullet came and shot straight at her companion.
Her eyes widened and she opened her mouth to tell him to watch out, but no sound would leave her lips.
In the end, she could only watch as he was shot in the head and died with a resigned and pained gaze.
âAhâ!â
Vickie woke up with a start.
It was pitch black when she opened her eyes, and the clock on the wall next to her was ticking away. It was only 4:00 am.
She closed her eyes for a long time before opening them again and sat up.

Vickie sat for a while. After the images of the dream dissipated from her mind, she lifted the blanket off and walked towards the bathroom.
