Chapter 866
Spoiled by the President
"We didn't expect that while we were all sleeping, an explosion would suddenly come from the Young Master's room.
"When we broke in, we saw that the room was on fire, so we tried our best to get Young Master out, but he was still badly injured.
"Since we couldn't find out who had tampered with the room in such short notice, we rushed all the way back."
Vickies eyebrows furrowed deeply at the words.
She asked sternly, "Didn't you guys check carefully when you were staying at the hotel?"
Harold said dourly, "It was checked."
Vickie was shocked.
She noticed that Harold's face had a complicated and vengeful expression. However, her thoughts shifted and she guessed it easily.
"There's a traitor among you?"
Harold clenched his fists and nodded.
"The security personnel?"
Harold nodded again.
Vickie sighed.
It was no wonder then.
The traitor was among the security personnel, so the other party could just plant a bomb in the room at any convenient moment and no one would find it.
Her face sank.
Outsiders did not know this, but she knew full well that the personnel around Gregory were all strictly vetted.
Most of them were orphans and had no attachments in this world, so there was no fear of being threatened and persecuted.
Gregory had always treated them generously, so the possibility of defecting due to a lack of benefits was out of the question.
Most importantly, as far as she knew, a large portion of these people were actually children who had been supported by the Graham family since childhood and had grown up to become Gregory's trusted men.
One could only imagine the kind of loyalty they had in their relationship, from childhood to adulthood.
Nonetheless, the traitor was among these people...
Vickie felt that the fog in front of her eyes started to appear again. It enveloped her eyes and made it impossible for her to see what was ahead.
Both of them fell silent.
At this time, Harold was incomparably remorseful.
Although those guards were Gregory's people, Harold was the one who would normally teach them and manage their training.
In other words, Gregory had put his most elite troops, as well as his own life, in Haroldâs hands.
However, he had betrayed Gregory's trust by not only failing to identify the traitor among his men in time but also by causing him to be seriously injured.
All Harold wanted to do was shoot himself right then.
Vickie naturally sensed his emotions, so she reached out her hand and patted his shoulder.
"You're not at fault. You don't need to blame yourself too much."
There was no way Harold could tell when even Gregory had not noticed the traitor.
Moreover, the traitor had been lurking within the security personnel, not showing the slightest flaw at all. He had only waited for this fatal blow.
Therefore, this was a trump card in the other party's hand. How could they let it be discovered so easily?
Vickie understood this, but Harold blamed himself.
As such, Vickie did not persist. She knew that at this time, any words of consolation from her would be useless to him.
So she said in a deep voice, "Where are those people? Are they under control?"
Harold nodded. "A total of 18 people, all under control."
Vickie nodded as well.
"As long as those people are under control, we donât have to worry. Weâll find a way to find out who this person is, pry his mouth open and see whoâs the mastermind behind him."
Vickie's words made Harold shake fiercely.
Subconsciously, he straightened his posture and let out a sonorous sound in response. "Yes maâam."
Then Vickie waved her hand. "You can go and take care of it first. This matter is of utmost importance at the moment. You can rest assured that Mr.
Osborne and I will stay by Gregoryâs side."
Only then did Harold nod gratefully and turned to leave.
Vickie went back to the bedroom door again and saw that Mr. Osborne was also out.
She walked over and asked, "How's it going?"
Mr. Osborne's eyebrows were locked. It had only been a few hours, but it suddenly seemed as if he had aged a few years.
He said in a deep voice, "The situationâs still not stable yet. He needs a blood transfusion now, so I'll send someone to get the blood bag."
Vickie nodded and only then did Mr. Osborne leave quickly.
Andrea could see Vickieâs depressed look, so she moved a chair over and placed it behind her.
"Miss Vickie, the injury on your leg hasn't healed yet. Why don't you sit and wait?"
Vickie was stunned. Subconsciously, she wanted to shake her head, but she saw Mr. Osborne, who had already returned, frown at her as he said, "Sit and wait. Youâll be the first person whom Young Master wants to see when he wakes up, and if he finds you in a bad state, itâll make him worried too."
Pressing her lips together, Vickie replied, "Alright."
After she sat down, Mr. Osborne left quickly once again.
The operation lasted for about an hour and a half.
Mr. Osborne went back in again after he had gotten the blood bag.
Not long after, the doctors came out together.
Everyone stood up and asked in unison, "How did it go?"
The doctor nodded and said, "His condition has stabilized but he's not completely out of danger yet. We will still need to monitor him for 48 hours before heâll be in the clear, so please send in two trusted people to take care of him. Remember to keep your voices down, and after we get through those 48 hours, everything will be perfectly fine."
The crowd was relieved.
The two people who were trustworthy and had the time were naturally Vickie and Mr. Osborne.
None of them hesitated as they changed their clothes and went straight in.
Mr. Osborne was in charge of taking care of Gregoryâs needs, while Vickie accompanied him and kept an eye on his state of health.
The room was filled with a strong smell of disinfectant and alcohol as well as fresh blood.
Vickie's eyes were a little red as she looked at the man lying quietly on the bed, his entire body wrapped with gauze.
She sat down on the chair beside the bed and said softly, "Gregory Graham, you better wake the hell up! If anything happens to you, I wonât be done with you!"
The man laid there quietly, without any sound or response.
She suddenly missed the old him.
The old Gregory always liked to make her angry and would act like a child at every turn, throwing tantrums or teasing her.
At that time, this man was also quite mean and he always made her sad.
Somehow, Vickie still felt that the previous Gregory was better; at least he was more lively.
Unlike right now where he laid motionless on the bed just like a completely lifeless puppet.
She raised her hand and took his hand that was sticking out of the blanket.
Holding his hand to her cheek, she said softly, "Gregory, I'll tell you a secret, okay?"

As if she did not care, she continued, "I'll tell you anyway. I used to say I hated you all the time and all that, but it was all lies."
