Chapter 870
Spoiled by the President
That person cocked his eye at him without saying a word.
Gregory smirked coldly.
Picking up a whip, Harold cracked it while he said in a furious voice, âThe Young Master asked you a question. Didnât you hear him? Answer him!â
The person let out a blood-curdling scream following the lash but despite that, he still looked daggers at Gregory before he spit a mouthful of blood at the latter.
Vickieâs eyes turned cold.
What a hard nut.
However, Gregory remained unfazed. âItâs fine even if you refuse to speak. I always have a way to find out what I want to know.â
With downcast eyes, he threw a remark. âI remember, youâve been with me since you were thirteen, right?â
The other party held his tongue.
Gregory continued, âYour family was oppressed by some local political figure that year, so much so your sister died a tragic death and your mother fell horribly sick. You didnât have the money to get the medication nor admit her to a hospital, so you participated in the illegal fight club at that young age, hoping youâd be able to save your mother on your own.
âI then discovered you by chance and saved you when you were beaten half-dead. I gave you money to treat your mother and an opportunity to learn formal martial arts so that youâd never be beaten to death.
âI even gave you a job during your most vulnerable moment so that you can work here and never have to worry about your next meal while still having a sum of money to spend. I really canât wrap my head around why youâd betray me.â
Gregory fixated his gaze on him.
Their eyes met for a while until suddenly, the person burst into a cackle of laughter.
The laughter was like a cold viper slithering up oneâs spine while flicking its tongue, invoking a different type of repugnance.
Vickie frowned. She was feeling sicker to the stomach towards this person before her.
She was aware that the people around Gregory were mostly and personally hand-picked by him.
Once they were hand-picked, they would be sent to train with the experts to become warriors whose only devotion was to Gregory.
Vickie once thought that a person as such would never betray him.
So, what was the reason behind it?
She was curious.
Just then, the person let out another guffaw and answered between laughs, âGave me a job? Gave me money? Hehe... Yes, you did indeed do that but isnât the money through our own sweat and blood? We put our lives on the line to make the money yet here you are, acting all high and mighty as though youâre the one giving us the charity. Who do you think you are?â
His words saw not only Vickie, but Gregory and Harold frowning in unison too.
Gregory replied in a gruff voice, âThatâs it? Thatâs why you chose to seek patronage with them and put a bomb in my room?â
The person scoffed coldly. âYes, I took refuge with them because apart from a promise of money, they even promised me a commanding position.
âEveryone thinks that you saved us and that we were living this amazing life because we have food, clothes, a huge roof over our heads, and money for staying with you.
âBut nobody knows that weâre lesser than dogs. We dive headfirst into danger and risk our lives but the lionâs share of the money ends up in your pocket, Why should it be so?
âBecause you were born into a great family? Because your last name is Graham? Hahahahahahaha... I motherf*cking refuse to accept this fate!â
He seemed to be getting angrier and angrier, and as he spoke, his face grew increasingly threatened.
Gregory was still expressionless.
So the person rebuked. âIf anyone of us has a measly thought of betrayal, we will be finished off in secret. Do you think I donât know that?
âWhy? Just because we were once your most intimate subordinates and we know too much of your deployment and secrets, we arenât allowed to leave. We have to remain by your side forever, either live out our lives or perish in battle!
âBut why? Why should I put my life on the line for someone else? You merely saved me once and I gave you my all in protection over the years. I have paid back my dues so why do I still have to sign my whole life away here?
âI canât take it lying down so when they came to me, I agreed to it. Hahaha, is it surprising? I guess not!
âAfter all, I can guarantee Iâm not the only one with the same thought. Do you think your troubles will be over after killing me? Hahahaha, youâre naive to think that!
âA person, like you, donât deserve to live in this world. You should go to hell and reincarnate as an animal in your next life since you donât have an ounce of man in you!â
The more he spoke, the more outrageous his words were. Moreover, none of what he said did him any good.
With a long face, Vickie tipped the wink at Harold.
However, Harold had already come forth. When he punched the person in the stomach, the person grunted in pain before passing out.
Looking at Gregory with worry, Vickie uttered, âGregory...â
âIâm alright.â
The man blurted coldly.
Vickie knew that he personally selected the team of escorts.
Yet, there was a traitor among them. For this traitor to go on using such a statement against him, he must be hurt.
However, Gregory would never wear his heart on his sleeve. For a moment, she was at a loss for words.
It took a while before she pursed her lips and said, âDonât think too much into it. Whatever you do on earth, Heaven will be your witness. You can never satisfy menâs insatiable appetite regardless of how great youâre doing so donât take his words to heart.â
Gregory lifted his head and took a glance at her.
His eyes revealed a glimmer of joy.
âAre you concerned about me?â
Vickie was dumbfounded.
Judging by his looks, she knew that the personâs words had no effect on him.
Hence without wasting another breath on him here, she nudged him out.

Vickie slowed down her pace once she was outside.
As she pushed him slowly towards the main building, she asked, âThe man earlier, whatâs his name?â
Gregory answered solemnly, âHis name is Terrence Cody. I met him in an underground fight club a long time ago. He was only thirteen with muscles then, fighting all brawn there.â
âHa!â Not knowing where that memory was leading, he scoffed coldly. âHe was pretty young but took ruthless measure. There were no clear moves or routines to his fighting but he managed to win three consecutive rounds solely because he went all out with complete disregard for his life. He shouldnât have gone for the fourth round but he pushed it. In the end, he was almost beaten to death by a potent opponent.
âMy heart went out to him so I paid to bail him out. I realized that he had potential after learning more about the situation so I kept him by my side.
Who knew...â
