Chapter 91
Spoiled by the President
One of them, who had in his possession the key, came forth to unlock the door.
Click! The locked door was unlatched.
The moment the door swung open, everyone tacitly turned their backs together.
They could not bear to visualize the possible scenario that took place in the room.
However, Gideon quietly stood there without moving a muscle.
Sensing something amiss, curiosity urged one of them to turn back for a look.
The next second, he widened his eyes in shock.
Inside the room, four men of sturdy build were scattered around. Their heads were bleeding and one of them even had a finger broken off. As these men lay unconscious, fresh blood soaked carpeting underneath them, staining the beige rug crimson red.
Nell was recoiled on the sofa, holding a glass bottle shattered in half.
Hunching over her knees, she curled up on the sofa. Her hair was a mess and her arms were covered in cuts and bruises. There were also bloodstains on her fingers coiling around the glass bottle, probably slits from the glass.
Her glassy eyes turned to the door as the source of activity. Although her mind was a blank, Nell remained on alert out of instincts, jolting up like a startled bunny.
âWhoâs there?â
Gideon walked in, step by step.
âDonât come over!â
Nell bellowed in a low voice.
She was not in her right mind. The combination of alcohol and drugs contributed to her disheveled and chaotic state.
Yet, she still raised the glass bottle like a warrior in the line of fire, defending herself to the very end.
Gideon had a glint in his eye. While he passed by a man lying on the ground, his foot mercilessly trampled over the personâs hand.
âAhhhh!â
It was a horrible shriek.
Cautioned by the sound, Nell quivered before crouching over.
She randomly wielded the wine bottle but her gaze remained steady. With a hoarse voice, she shouted, âDonât come over! Iâll kill you!â
Gideon continued his way forward.
As if Nell could sense that the enemy this time was not as easy to deal with as before, she fumbled for her phone.
âIâll tell Gideon Leith. Iâll look for him. Donât come over, otherwise Gideon Leith wonât let you get away with it, he wonât let you get away, he wonât...
AH!â
Gideon snatched her hand.
âLet me go! Let me go!â
âNelly, itâs me.â
He tried to restrain her flailing arms while being cautious to avoid touching the wounds on her limbs.
His voice was low and raspy. âDonât be afraid. Nelly, itâs me. Iâm here.â
As though she had lost her hearing and vision, Nell put up a struggle and swung the bottle to stab him.
âDonât come over, donât come over...â
Standing by the door, Matthew watched with his heart in his throat. There were a couple times the president was almost cut by the glass while trying to avoid aggravating Ms. Jenningsâ wounds.
He exclaimed, âPresident, why donât you let the bodyguards take over. Ms. Jenningsâ disoriented, if she hurts you...â
Turning a deaf ear, Gideon agilely seized the bottle in Nellâs hand. He then pulled her into his embrace with his might.
âNelly, itâs me. Iâm Gideon Leith. Donât be scared, Iâm here.â
He repeated these simple and monotonous words. It took a long while before Nell finally settled down.
Nell lifted her head to stare at his face in disbelief. Her beautiful face, drenched in tears and painted in flushes of red, spoke of untold desolation and disarray.
âGideon Leith, is it really you?â
âItâs me.â Gideon met her gaze intently as he held her hand to caress his face.
âFeel me if you donât believe me. Itâs really me.â
Nellâs bloody fingers brushed through his brows, eyes, pointy nose, and thin lips.
She bawled out of the blue.
Plunging headfirst into his arms, she clutched onto his waist.
âItâs really you. Sob sob sob... Youâre finally here! Why did it take you so long to arrive! Donât you know, I was almost-almost...â
âI know.â
Gideon tightened his grip as they cuddled. His hand pressed onto the back of her head to tumble against his chest.
âDonât worry. Youâre alright now. You were brave. They didnât succeed.â
âSob sob sob... Iâm terrified...â
âDonât be. Iâm here. No one would dare lay a hand on you.â
Nell nodded in a whimper. Gideon did not even mind that her tears and snot smeared on his shirt. He took off his coat and put it over her before lifting her up.
âItâs all good. Iâll take you home, okay?
âOkay.â
Nell buried her head in his arms as Gideon carried his woman out.
He stopped in his tracks at the door and instructed with a straight face, âGet rid of these four. I donât ever want to see them in Jincheng.â
Blown away, the people quickly answered, âYes.â
âItâs high time the Mortons were taught a lesson. Matthew, pass it on. Weâll terminate every partnership we have with Morton Corporation and any company working with the Mortons is an enemy of mine.â
Dumbstruck, Matthew nodded. âYes.â
Without any cause to linger, Gideon took Nell and left.
After his figure disappeared in the lift, Matthew raised his head to dart a cold glance at the four men collapsed in the room.
He mercilessly curled his lips and told the bodyguards behind. âSince they have seen what should not be seen and touched what should not be touched, they can forget about their eyes and hands. You should know what to do, right?â
The bodyguards replied, âYes.â
âTake them outside! Weâre in a society governed by law, after all. Ha!â
The last laugh was a mock.
After giving out orders, Matthew departed as well.
He had no time to waste as he still had to announce the termination of cooperation with Morton Corporation.
On the other side, Gideon carried Nell into the car and sat her on the passengerâs seat. He put the seat belt on her before going around to the other side to sit in the driverâs seat.
âGideon Leith, I donât feel good. I feel hot.â
Nell pulled and tugged the manâs coat over her.
Gideonâs eyes darkened at the reflection of her flushed cheeks and hazy eyes.
Reaching over, he tucked the coat back on her and croaked, âBear with it a little longer. Iâll get you to the hospital now.â
Gideon started the car and stepped on it.
However, Nell just about reached her limit.
It was like a flame blazing within her body, turning up the heat so hot she thought she was going to explode.

âGideon Leith... Letâs not go to the hospital... Iâm so hot... I need water...â
