Chapter 926

Spoiled by the President

The pastor raised his voice once again, “You may now kiss the bride!”

The atmosphere had been ruined. Gregory and Vickie stood face to face, both with deep thoughts buried in the bottom of their hearts.

Gregory could see that she had lost her mood and gave her a soft peck on her forehead. She was his treasure. With that, the ceremony came to an end.

The banquet was held directly after the wedding.

Gregory went back to the hotel with Vickie as she needed to change into an evening gown for the feast.

She planned to bring along the gifts her guests had given for the wedding.

The same went for Shimon Flinders’ gift. Although she hated him, it did not seem right to reject his gift outright in public. It would have been extremely humiliating.

Vickie reached her hands out to pick up the box. Everything around her suddenly went black for a moment. She staggered.

Gregory instinctively reflexed and caught her. “Are you ok?”

Taking her time to regain her balance, she shook her head.

“I’m fine.”

He frowned.

Gregory noticed that her face had become rather pale. “Do you feel unwell? Why do you look pale?” He asked.

Vickie waved her hand. “I’m fine, really. I’m probably tired from getting up too early today.”

Looking perfect was a big deal for a bride. She had specifically gotten up at 4:00 a.m. just to get her makeup done and to fit into her wedding dress.

Naturally, she did not have enough sleep.

Gregory calmed down upon seeing this.

The two of them went back to the hotel. As the lunch banquet was held at the hotel, the guests shortly followed behind them.

The island had not been open to outsiders ever since Gregory took over. As a result of that, the hotel had been left vacant too.

After their announcement, people had been sent to manage the hotel rooms, the halls, the kitchen, and other general affairs.

As Mr. Osborne was present, things were going on in a neat and orderly fashion.

Vickie sat on the sofa the moment she returned to the hotel room.

Gregory’s forehead creased as he realized that her complexion had turned ghastly.

“Vick, Vick.”

He called out her name twice and patted her shoulders.

Vickie turned around and looked at him. Her vision became blurry.

“Are you okay, Vick? Why are you so pale?”

She did not reply to him this time.

Vickie blacked out, and her body collapsed with a heave.

Nobody expected such an event to occur at a wonderful wedding.

Gregory called for the doctor immediately after Vickie had fainted. Upon diagnosing her, the doctor found that she had a rare condition. How was he supposed to treat her if he could not point out the reason she had passed out?

The guests had rushed over when they got hold of this news and were already waiting outside the room.

Gregory guarded over Vickie as she lay on the bed. The doctor was trying to diagnose her condition. After glancing at the doctor, he asked him anxiously, “What’s going on with her? Say something!”

The doctor was a permanent resident at their chateau. It was unforeseen that an accident happened during a joyous day like this.

Thank god Mr. Osborne was a meticulous person. Although he did not think that Vickie and Gregory would be injured, the same could not be said for their guests. As the island had been sealed off, he brought along a doctor, just in case.

He never knew that the doctor would come in handy.

The doctor could not come up with a valid explanation although he had inspected every single part of her body.

A moment passed before he stuttered, “Her condition is quite complicated, Young Master Graham. I really can’t determine why the missus fainted.

We might need medical facilities but there are none on this island now. Until then, I won’t be able to help her.”

Gregory’s face fell.

Mr. Osborne was standing nearby. “Should we head back to the chateau?”

Just as Gregory was about to agree to that, a man’s steady voice was heard.

“You don’t have to do that. I know what’s wrong with her.”

The man strode in upon saying so.

Everyone was shocked. Wasn’t that Shimon Flinders?

The corner of his eyes darkened. Gregory was uncertain if Vickie’s condition had anything to do with Shimon, but his presence itself had already made him annoyed.

Shimon knew what Gregory thought about him at that moment.

He did not bother to care about it.

He walked to the side of the bed and fished out a small box from his pocket. Inside was a clear, transparent golden pill. He took the pill out as he tried to feed Vickie.

Gregory blocked him before he could do so, leaving his hand dangling awkwardly in mid-air.

“What is the meaning of this, Shimon?”

Shimon looked at him and smiled.

“What’s the matter? Are you afraid that I’m going to poison her? Well, let me tell you something. She’ll die within half an hour if she doesn’t take this pill.”

Everyone was shocked by what they had heard.

Mr. Osborne was the first to break the silence. “This is no joke, Mr. Flinders. We’re talking about someone’s life here! What do you mean?” He asked.

Shimon looked around and noticed that everyone had a look of suspicion on their faces. He knew that he would not be let off the hook if he did not explain.

He remained calm as he started to explain.

“She has a rare genetic disease running through her veins. She would be fit and healthy until the disease breaks out at a certain age. After that, she will be in a coma as her insides and artilleries will shrink rapidly. Until then, she will die if she doesn’t consume the antidote in time.”

Gregory’s face darkened.

The same went for the others.

Someone asked, “How do we know that you’re telling the truth?”

Shimon raised an eyebrow.

“It’s fine, you don’t have to believe in what I said. She doesn’t have to consume the antidote, but let me tell you something before things take a turn for the worst. Even if she gets the antidote half an hour later, it will still not be able to bring her back from heaven. It’s up to you guys.”

He turned and walked out in a straight line.

A cold voice called out behind him before he reached for the door.

“Wait!”

With daggers in his eyes, he said, “Give me that.”

Shimon smirked as he passed over the medicine.

However, Gregory did not feed her the medicine straight away. He calmly instructed Harold instead, “Have Mr. and Mrs. Flinders invited over for tea at the other room. I don’t want anyone disturbing them unless I gave out orders to do so.”

Everyone understood what he meant.

This was a prison in disguise.

Nothing would befall upon them if Vickie woke up. If she did not, Shimon Flinders and Yuliana Lynch might not walk out of this place alive.

Shimon slightly narrowed his eyes. He was not expecting him to do something like this.

He grew up on the streets and had always been cold-hearted since he was a child. It would be unlikely for Gregory to believe what he had said and give Vickie the antidote.

Thinking about this, Shimon was no longer angry as Yuliana and he cooperatively went to the room next door.

Mr. Osborne fetched Gregory a glass of water as he fed Vickie the antidote.

Staring at her anxiously, Gregory sat by her side as she took the medicine.

A few minutes later, Vickie regained consciousness. She flipped onto the side of her body.

She saw him and asked, “Did something happen to me?”
