Nell stood there with the jade pendant in her hand. Her heart, however, was very heavy.

As he was looking for the jade pendant, he tried to comfort Cathy. “Don’t worry. I will help you to look for it. Try to remember the last time you saw the pendant. Once you have thought of something, I will go look for it with you.”

Cathy stopped looking for the pendant and started to jog her memory.

However, she could not think of anything even after thinking for quite a long time.

She shook her head. “I don’t know. My dad gave me this jade pendant, and I have worn it for so many years. I have never taken off the pendant before, so I have never given it much attention. It felt as if the jade pendant was a part of me, so I didn’t notice that I lost it. I can’t even remember when was the last time I saw it.”

Sean furrowed his eyebrows as he heard that.

He thought for a while. He then said, “Let’s search for the pendant in this room first. If we can’t find it here, then you could have lost it at the stone gambling site two days ago.”

Cathy described the jade pendant hastily. “It’s a lotus-shaped jade pendant that is three centimeters long and about three to four millimeters thick.

Mr. Donnelly frowned.

He thought for a while. “This is quite the predicament. After all, you aren’t sure about when you lost your jade pendant. To search for such a small item is like looking for a needle in a haystack.”

Sean had also nodded his head. “I have thought of the same thing as well. That is why we might need to trouble you to let us have a look at the surveillance footage.”

Mr. Donnelly nodded his head. “It’s not a big problem anyway. Please wait for a while. I will ask someone to send the footage to you.”

As he said, he called someone on his phone. After a short while, someone had already brought in the surveillance footage for the past few days.

Mr. Donnelly showed them the footage on the laptop. He then said, “You can take a look first. I have to handle other issues. Thus, I will be taking my leave. If you find any clues, please do tell me after viewing the footage. As long as you can find it within the venue, I will retrieve it for you.”

Sean and Cathy nodded their hands. They then said, “Thank you very much.”

Mr. Donnelly left the room, leaving the two of them in the office to watch the footage.

The surveillance footage was from the first day they arrived at the stone gambling site. There were a few days’ worths of footage, plus there were multiple perspectives of the venue in the video. As such, the workload was humongous.

Sean looked at the image on the screen. That was the moment when Cathy had just exited the office. Meanwhile, Jean had also come to the office to see Mr. Donnelly. After speaking with Mr. Donnelly, she promptly left the office.

Cathy and Sean had left right after that. At that moment, Cathy tripped over a door sill and almost fell.
