Chapter 981

Spoiled by the President

Next to Nell, Lizzy rushed over excitedly the moment she heard Nell talking on the phone. “Mommy, are you going on a business trip?”

Nell looked down at her and smiled. “Yes.”

Reaching out her hand, she rubbed Lizzy’s hair and said softly, “Mummy and daddy might be going abroad for a few days in five days, so you have to take good care of your brother at home. You can beat him if he’s disobedient, but you have to protect him if an outsider wants to bully him, okay?”

Lizzy nodded solemnly.

“Mommy, don’t worry. I’ll take good care of Viemond.”

Nell nodded in relief, then leaned down to kiss Lizzy on the forehead before she said, “Well, let’s go eat.”

The family finished their meal happily, and in the evening, Nell went back to her room to check out all the fun places around the capital. After that, she called the company and instructed Hannah to help watch the company for this period of time before hanging up.

While she was looking up information on the internet, Gideon came out of the shower and went up to her from behind when he saw her sitting there.

“What are you looking at?”

Nell turned around and smiled at him. “I’m looking up the scenic spots nearby.”

Gideon was silent for a moment.

He wrapped his arms around her soft waist from behind and put his chin on her shoulder.

“I won’t be able to accompany you these days, so you need to take care of yourself. Be careful with your stomach.”

Nell nodded. “I know.”

She paused before reaching out to rub his wet hair.

“You need to take care of the company’s business in the next few days. You can’t be absent when we go to Country T in five days.”

Gideon smiled. Of course he knew that.

Putting everything aside, if it were just Jean and Nell alone, he was worried that Jean would cause trouble.

Furthermore, Nell was pregnant now. It was no big deal if she was visiting a place like the capital, but for her to leave the country and travel to such a faraway place, he would be very worried.

Therefore, the two of them had a tacit understanding that they had to go together.

Gideon leaned in and kissed her face before getting up to dry his hair.

After Nell finished looking up the information, she sent a message to Cathy to let her choose where they would be going tomorrow. After they decided, she went to take a shower and then sleep.

The next day.

Nell arrived at Mr. Donnelly’s manor early in the morning.

The driver was Nancy who also knew that Cathy and Nell had acknowledged each other, and she was very happy for Nell.

The two did not have to wait long before Cathy and Sean came out.

They both wore casual outfits today — Cathy wore a light gray casual outfit and a hat on her head, and Sean wore the same color as well. The two of them took good care of their appearances, and from a distance, they looked like a pair of young lovers instead of a middle-aged couple.

Sitting in the car, Nell smiled as she saw the pair coming from the distance.

In her heart, she could not help but think that this was good too.

Her mom could get out of the shadow of the past and find true love again. Was that not the best ending?

As long as she could open her heart and stop being so sensitive and nervous, that was more than enough.

As she thought of that, she pushed open the car door and beckoned to them.

Cathy and Sean walked over quickly, and only when they got closer did Nell realize that Sean was holding something in his hand.

It was a white box, which Sean then handed to her, looking slightly uncomfortable.

“This is for you.”

Nell was stunned. She looked at Cathy and took the box before smiling. “What is this?”

Cathy smiled lightly. “Didn’t you say you were pregnant? This is a high-grade ingredient that your Uncle Sean found when he was in the desert. It’s a great supplement for pregnant women. Take it back and brew it afterward, but remember not to drink too much, lest your body can’t handle it.”

Nell’s heart could not help but warm up when she registered the words.

Smiling, she handed it to Nancy to put away. “Thank you, Uncle Sean.”

Perhaps it was because he was not used to being called uncle, but Sean’s expression only grew more embarrassed.

Without looking at her, he nodded quickly and hurriedly opened the door to get into the car.

After they got in, Nell let Nancy drive them to the first attraction.

Since Cathy specifically said that she wanted to go to the outskirts, the places that Nell chose were all in the outskirts. Not only was the air there good, but the scenery was beautiful as well, which was rare in a developed and prosperous place like the capital.

Since the car could not drive into the scenic spot, they stopped a distance away.

Nell took Cathy and Sean in first so that Nancy could park the car first before catching up to them.

Nancy knew this area very well, and she was a martial arts practitioner, so she was not worried that she would not be able to catch up with them.

Nell was not familiar with the capital before, but after she married Gideon and moved to the capital, she became familiar with it over the years.

Furthermore, she had done her homework last night, so she was able to explain the scenery and history of the area with ease.

As Nancy and Sean listened to her, they nodded repeatedly.

Before long, Nancy caught up to them.

She held two bottles of water in her hands and handed one each to Cathy and Sean, then she passed Nell a thermos.

Nell was confused. “What’s this?”

Nancy smiled. “Mr. Leith passed it to me this morning. He said it’s some bird’s nest for you to quench your thirst on the road.”

Nell’s face could not help but blush a little. She looked at Cathy and Sean out of the corner of her eyes and hissed angrily. “Quench my thirst? Bird’s nest is smooth and slippery. How can it quench my thirst? Give me water instead.”

Cathy smiled too. “Nelly, you’re pregnant now so it’s not good to drink cold water. Since Gideon made you some bird’s nest, you should drink it. Your health is the most important.”

Nell’s blush deepened, wondering with annoyance when Gideon became such a worrywart. She then said to Cathy, “Mom, it’s fine. I’m not thirsty.”

While the group talked, they continued up the trail.

Taking Nell’s body into account, they decided to rest after a short walk. After all, they were in no hurry to visit all the places around in one day.

Sean was a doctor and a highly skilled one at that, so Gideon was relieved to let Nell bring them out.

Otherwise, he would not have allowed Nell to do such a laborious task as climbing a mountain.

The group had a good time throughout the day and only went home when it grew dark.

Everyone was tired after spending the entire day out.

In the evening, when Gideon was done with work too, Nell booked a hotpot restaurant for them to eat at.

Unexpectedly, halfway through the meal, Nell received a call from Old Madam Quinton.
