Chapter 984
Spoiled by the President
The group of them strolled around until the evening and then went to another upscale restaurant for dinner.
After the meal, Mr. Donnelly asked if they wanted to go to the night market or any entertainment establishments.
However, Nell declined as she felt a little tired.
Mr. Donnelly did not force the issue and sent them back to the hotel.
Though he did not stay here. Since he often came to Country T, he had his own house here, so he spent the night there.
After leaving, Nell asked curiously, âWhen are we going to the mine?â
Mr. Donnelly smiled. âTomorrow. Since the mine is a little far from the city, we wonât be able to come back today if we leave now. The place is remote and the security there isnât as good, so Iâm afraid itâs not very safe to stay there at night, but weâll go there early in the morning tomorrow and come back at night.â
Nell nodded.
When Mr. Donnelly left, she went back to her room to wash up before lying down to rest.
Early the next morning, Mr. Donnelly drove over and picked them up.
This time, he drove a stretch limo.
The car was big enough to fit everyone, and it even had a refrigerator and red wine. Since the drive was more than three hours, they could drink some wine and have fun so they would not be bored.
Given that Nell was pregnant, she naturally did not drink.
Hence Gideon did not drink too, and Sean and Cathy did not drink either.
Thus, in the end, only Mr. Donnelly and Jean had a toast.
The group joked and laughed along the way. Mr. Donnelly was a talkative person and very attentive. He told them about the local conditions and customs while sharing harmless jokes with Jean, creating a very warm atmosphere.
It was almost noon when the car finally stopped.
When they got out of the car, it was desolate all around them. There was no one around, and with the sun shining overhead, it was as if they were in an isolated place.
It was Jeanâs first time at a place like this, so she could not help but feel slightly afraid.
She shrank to Gideonâs side and asked, âMr. Donnelly, whereâs the mine you mentioned? You werenât lying to us, were you?â
Mr. Donnelly laughed. âWhat are you saying, Ms. Leith? Mines are usually located in locations that are quite remote. If they were near the city, they would have been discovered and excavated by someone long ago. This place is a little far, but weâre almost there. Itâs just on the other side of that hill.â
He pointed to a small hill in front of them as he spoke.
Since the hill had not been paved yet, there was only a footpath which the car could not drive on and that was why they stopped here.
Jean looked up at Gideon.
However, Gideon turned to Nell. âAre you tired?â
Nell shook her head.
âThen letâs go take a look.â
She nodded.
Thus, the group began their climb over the small hill and headed over.
After climbing over the hill, they indeed saw a mine opposite them with a cave underneath, where dozens of workers were toiling away.
A sharp-eyed middle-aged man caught sight of Mr. Donnelly and ran over.
âBoss, youâre back.â
Mr. Donnelly smiled and nodded. âLet me introduce you. This is Mr. Leith and his wife, President Jennings. This man is Mr. Miller, Mrs. Miller, and this is Ms. Leith.â
Mr. Donnelly was smart. He knew that Gideonâs identity was not trivial, so he might not want people to know he was here.
Therefore, when introducing them, he did not specify Gideonâs identity and simply called him Mr. Leith.
With a smile, the middle-aged man nodded and greeted everyone one by one.
Mr. Donnelly waved his hand. âAlright, go head back to work. Iâll show them around.â
The man quickly nodded and bowed before he left, and Mr. Donnelly extended his hand. âPresident Leith, this way.â
Gideon walked forward with Nell.
There really was nothing much to see in the mine besides looking at some data, inspecting the surrounding geographical environment, and what had been dug up. The rest would need to be looked at by geological surveyors.
Gideon had already found a geologist before coming here, but the person was not available today and could not come until tomorrow.
Mr. Donnelly nodded cheerfully after Gideon told him about this.
âNo problem. After all, President Leith wants to invest a large sum of money, so itâs only appropriate to get someone to survey it properly. When he comes tomorrow, you can allow him to contact me directly or contact me in the morning. Itâs all the same if I bring him along with me since I have to drive here every morning anyway.
Gideon nodded.
After walking around, Gideon went to the mine to look at the fresh jade that had just been mined today.
Many of them had not been cut open and their color was not yet visible, but judging from the cut, he knew that there must be many treasures inside.
Once he took a look at them, he had a rough idea in his mind.
Thus, he said to Mr. Donnelly, âIf thereâs no problem after my man comes to see it tomorrow, you can come to me to sign the contract.â
At that, Mr. Donnelly was immediately overjoyed that he nodded his head vigorously. âYes, I understand.â
He was happy not only because he had found a partner in this business, but also because he had gotten a ride on the Leith familyâs express train.
Smart people knew that when the capable Gideon Leith conducted business, it not only represented the interests of a business but it had a long-term impact as well.
If nothing else, just the fact that he was doing business with Gideon Leith would greatly improve his social status and reputation.
Though Gideon was unaware of Mr. Donnellyâs little thoughts.

ï¤Chapter 487 The End Pt. 5 However, in his high position, he had long been accustomed to the people around him clinging and looking up at him.
That included the people who wanted to reap benefits from him. It was normal.
As long as the other party could bring the same benefits to him, he did not mind cooperating with them.
So when Mr. Donnelly brought them back to the hotel, he did not say anything.
On the other hand, Jean, who had followed them but did not see anything much even after looking around, was still confused.
Seeing Gideon and Nell walking in front of her, she quickly jogged after them and asked, âNell, youâve seen the mine, right? Is it fine?â
Gideon said softly, âThere should be no problem. After the geological surveyor has a look at it tomorrow and makes sure that the ores inside are real, we can sign the contract.â
Only then did Jean breathe a sigh of relief. âOh, thatâs good.â
Yet after she said that, she suddenly got excited again.
âGideon, look, this counts as your Aunt bringing you a big business deal, right? Do you want to thank your Aunt?â
Gideon glanced at her.
Nell smiled. âWhat do you want, Aunt?â
Jean grinned. âI heard that thereâs a very fun place in Country T called Nocturne. I want to go there tonight to have fun.â
