Chapter 985

Spoiled by the President

Nell frowned.

“Nocturne? Isn’t that place a mess? It’s too dangerous for you to go alone, Aunt.”

Jean could not help but roll her eyes.

“How messy can it be? Can’t I bring bodyguards along? Besides, with a family history like ours, what’s there to fear? Who would dare to provoke us?”

As she spoke, she gave Gideon a fawning smile.

Gideon did not object to her going out to have fun. After all, he knew that Jean’s temper could not be restrained.

Thus, he took out a card and handed it to her.

He said with an expressionless face, “Take bodyguards and don’t cause any trouble.”

Jean immediately grinned and nodded. “Okay, got it. Thanks, nephew.”

Only then did Gideon take Nell and the others into the hotel.

Cathy was a little tired after returning to the hotel, so Sean took her back to their room after agreeing to have dinner with Gideon and Nell later.

Nell and Gideon went back to their room too.

As soon as they returned to the room, Nell could not help but complain. “You’re too soft on your aunt. We don’t know this place that well and she likes to cause trouble. If something really happens, what’s the use of just taking a few bodyguards?”

Gideon walked over and hugged her from behind, laughing. “The wife’s words ring true.”

Although that was what he said, his hands were not obedient at all.

He squatted down and held Nell’s thin and soft waist, and placed his ear on her stomach.

“Let me hear. Has my son talked to me today?”

Nell stood there, letting him press against her belly, and laughed. “He isn’t even born yet, how do you know it’s a son?”

Gideon looked up at her. “Of course, I know what I planted.”

Nell was speechless.

What should she do if she wanted to beat up this man?

Gideon listened for a while. No one knew if he heard anything, but in the end, he stood up in satisfaction and assisted Nell to sit down on the sofa by the side.

Nell laughed and joked. “Did you hear what your son said to you?”

Gideon nodded seriously. “Of course I did.”

“What did he tell you?”

Gideon said profoundly, “He said that I’m not at liberty to inform you.”

Nell immediately knew that he did not hear anything at all and was purely amusing her.

She could not help but laugh and punch him.

Gideon did not avoid her, allowing her to hit him however she wanted. In any case, her delicate fist hitting him was nothing more than a tickle — there was no feeling at all.

The two messed around for a while until Nell grew tired, so she lay down on the sofa to rest.

Meanwhile, Gideon went to the side to deal with some documents that Matthew had just sent over which required his attention.

Suddenly, the room was quiet.

The two people did not speak. Gideon sat there and concentrated on his work until he finished everything, and when he looked up, he realized that, at some point, the sky had already turned dark outside.

When he looked at the time on his wristwatch, he saw that it was already 8:00 pm.

Shocked, he could not help but blame himself for being so engrossed that he had forgotten the time.

He quickly stood up from his desk. Perhaps it was because Nell was too tired, or because she had waited too long, but she had already fallen asleep on the sofa.

Her thin and slender body made her look like a person made of paper mache, trapped on the large sofa.

She was so pale that it was heartbreaking and it made him want to protect her.

Gideon stepped forward and draped his jacket on her. Only when he touched her forehead and hands carefully to find that her temperature was normal did he feel relieved.

Seeing how deeply Nell was sleeping, it must be because of how tired she was after running around with him for the past two days.

He did not have the heart to wake her up, so he gently picked her up, put her on the bed, and covered her with a blanket before turning around and walking out.

At this time, Cathy and Sean were still in their own room.

Gideon walked over and knocked lightly on the door.

Soon, someone inside opened the door.

Sean stood by the door in a suit and when he saw it was Gideon, Sean stepped to the side to let him in.

However, Gideon shook his head.

Hearing his voice, Cathy walked out and saw that Gideon alone without Nell. Realizing something was wrong, she hurriedly asked, “What happened?”

Gideon smiled gently. “It’s nothing. I just came to tell you that Nelly is asleep, so we may not be able to join you for dinner. If you’re hungry, you can go ahead first. I heard that there are two restaurants here which are really good. I’ll send someone to bring you there later.”

Cathy paused, but she was not stupid. It was only because of her injury which then made her over-sensitive mind, forming a communication barrier with strangers.

Therefore, she understood it quickly. She smiled. “There’s no need, we can go by ourselves. Since Nelly is tired, you should accompany her and have a good rest.”

Gideon nodded. “In that case, be careful on the road. Feel free to call me if you need anything.”

With that, the two nodded and Gideon left.

After returning to the room, Gideon found that Nell had actually woken up at some point.

He quickly walked over.

“Did I wake you up when I closed the door?”

Nell looked at him and shook her head.

“No.” She paused and looked at herself again in confusion.

“How did I fall asleep?”

Gideon sat down and stroked her hair gently.

“You were too tired. You fell asleep just by sitting there and waiting for me.”

Only then did Nell remember and she smiled in embarrassment. Then, she remembered Cathy and Sean.

“Ah, what time is it now? Shouldn’t Mom and Sean be going out for dinner now?”

She spoke as she took out her phone to check the time.

Gideon quickly stopped her and smiled. “Don’t worry, I just went out to tell mom and Sean that they can go out to eat by themselves and don’t have to wait for us.”

Nell was relieved when she heard this.

Perhaps it was because Cathy had been missing for ten years, Nell always had a feeling of gaining and losing something. Now, since she especially valued Cathy, it was only natural that she would be nervous.

Gideon understood her mentality and did not say anything. He tucked some stray strands of hair behind her ear and asked, “Are you hungry?”

Nell touched her stomach.

Before this, she had not felt anything, but now that Gideon mentioned it, she did feel hungry.

She nodded.

Gideon said softly, “You have two choices. One is to have someone bring food over and we eat in the room, and the other is to eat at the restaurant downstairs. Which one do you choose?”

Nell laughed. “Why are there only these two choices? Can’t we go out and stroll around other places to find other stores to eat at?”
