Chapter 993

Spoiled by the President

“Indeed, so long as you’re safe. We’re not short on money anyway,” Jean also spoke up and comforted her, but Cathy was not worried about the money.

All these years, Sean had been living in seclusion with her in the desert. He was a famous and wealthy man of many talents. Otherwise, he would not be in a place where grass did not grow.

Money was never a problem.

Even in the desert chateau, the maids lived like they were in a utopia. It was never about money.

She was just in shock. Furthermore, she was worried for Sean since he just ran into the crowd.

Nell realized that and turned to Gideon. “Gideon, can you go take a look and see if Uncle Miller is okay?”

They had gone out without bodyguards since they did not want to attract attention when having fun.

With a nod, Gideon asked Mr. Donnelly to watch the ladies before running after Sean, but not too far off, he unexpectedly saw a familiar figure.

Gregory was out with Vickie in the area when they saw someone running in their direction. The person even bumped into Vickie.

Since Gregory had always been a protective person and was not going to just let this go, he blocked the person from running away.

At the same time, Sean caught up and started negotiating something with Gregory.

He heard from Sean that this man was a thief, and indeed, in the man’s hand was a purse. Gregory paused and frowned before kicking the thief to his knees.

The thief did not expect to be caught, so he threw the purse into the crowd in a panic.

Everyone was shocked.

Sean immediately ran for the purse. Upon seeing that everyone was distracted, the thief tried to make a break for it.

He stood up and ran, but before he could even take a few steps, a kick to his chest sent him flying back onto the ground. The thief coughed heavily and his face turned almost red. He could not even get up.

Gregory froze and turned to see Gideon heading towards them. His eyes widened, “Gideon Leith, I didn’t expect to see you here.”

Gideon was also taken aback to think they would run into each other even in a situation like this. He hoisted the thief up and smiled. “What brings you here?”

Gregory responded, “Vickie and I came to handle some business.”

His eyes held a dark glint to it, and Gideon immediately knew what “business’ he was referring to. They were surrounded by people, so they said nothing more.

Sean returned with the purse, shooting the thief a disapproving glare. “Stealing in broad daylight?! You got a death wish or something?”

He lifted his fist to punch the thief, but Gideon stopped him. The thief cowered in fear.

“Mr. Miller, let me introduce my friends to you. These are Gregory Graham and Vickie Thomas.”

The couple said hi to Sean.

Sean, on the other hand, froze. He may have been living in the desert, but that did not mean he was ignorant about the outside world.

In fact, being a supernatural doctor meant he was very familiar with underground networks.

Looking at Gregory and hearing his name immediately reminded him of someone and his eyes narrowed. He lowered his fist. “Ah, the esteemed boss of the Dragon Regiment. Your reputation has been astounding lately. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Gregory smiled blankly. “Compared to the infamous Supernatural Doctor, we’re just regular company. The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Miller.”

Gideon opted to stay silent since they seemed to know each other, and turned to the thief instead. “Since he stole my mother’s purse, we’ll let the women decide what they want to do.”

Sean frowned but did not oppose the idea and just nodded.

On the contrary, Gregory was a tad shocked. As far as he knew, Gideon’s parents had passed away ages ago. The only other person who he would call “Mother’ was...

Wait, that was impossible. Both Cathy Morrison and Juliette Garett should have already passed away, so who was he referring to?

Curiosity overtook him, and the Graham couple followed them back to the entrance of the theatre.

Nell and the others were waiting in the piece of empty land beside the entrance. Finally, they spotted some familiar figures walking over, and they rushed over happily.

“Is everything ok?”

“Did you get him?”

Gideon practically threw the bound thief in front of the ladies. “Got him.”

Sean returned the purse to Cathy, who checked the contents.

“Have a look. Is anything missing?”

She shook her head. “Everything is still here.”

“That’s good.” He paused and gave the thief a hateful look. “I wanted to punch him, but Gideon said he should let you decide what to do with him since he stole your purse. So, you choose.”

Cathy shot Gideon a thankful look.

Sean was not a bad person, but he was very straight-laced and particularly jealous. Basically, he had a high IQ but low EQ. He did not even stop to think of what kind of problems would arise if he caused a fight in the streets of country T as the Supernatural Doctor.

Not to say that they were afraid of problems, but prevention is always better than cure.

This was no life or death situation after all.

Cathy looked at the thief and saw that he was very young, around ten-ish.

The thief was skinny while his skin was caked with dirt. His eyes stared at her timidly, terrified by Gideon’s hold on him earlier. He was shaking like a leaf.

Cathy gently asked him, “What’s your name? Why did you steal?

The kid froze and clammed up.

Mr. Donnelly smiled and said, “He seems to be a local and probably doesn't understand what you said. Let me translate.”

After all, he was an avid traveler and spoke the language well. Mr. Donnelly then asked the kid who understood, meekly replying under his breath.

Mr. Donelly translated it for the rest, “He says his name is Kazar. He has no money and needs money. That’s why he stole.”
