29 - ♣ A New Mission (ii)
The Order Of Machiavelli
SCENE: Vivienne & her 5 male employees at work
âWell, itâs the only truth youâre going to get Vivienne. So let it go. Besides, todayâs not about me. Itâs about the Italianâ
âYeah youâre rightâ she rolled her eyes
âuh-uh. I know Iâm rightâ
They kept on making small talks till they got to the boardroom, where she was supposed to address Ethan and the other guys, before the rest employees joined them in an hourâs time.
Their next mission since the order of Machiavelli was up. The Italian.
As soon as they got there, they exchanged greetings with the rest of the crew and comfortably sat down. Including her. She wasnât the one speaking first. Ethan was. And once everyone was comfortably seated, he stood up to give his speech
âThe Italian. Our next mission. The mission weâve been preparing for, for the last three weeks now. And because of the gravity of this mission, all hands are going to be on deck. It would no longer be just the seven of us. Other field employees in Vivman are going to be joining us too, making us around thirty. This guy is a very dangerous and very popular drug lord. Heâs one of the major suppliers on the streets and abroad. Now, some very powerful officials in the CIA are paying us a lot of money to bring this son of a bitch down. Off books. Off records. With every means at our disposalâ
âSo please remind me again why they arenât going on this mission themselves. I mean, they are CIA right?â Ryan asked sarcastically coming close to rolling his eyes.
âBecause Ryan, the Italian is one of the biggest financial philanthropist and investor. He donates money basicallyâ¦everywhere. Charities, government projects and fundings, government securities, and most especially, he donates money to the CIA. Infact I dare say a lot of persons are grateful to him for their lives. In other words, publicly, heâs already been welcomed with open arms as one of them. Theyâve actively been in league with him up till recently, when they learnt of the new drug he released on the streets. The Grey death. And this, this is different from any other street drugs weâve ever seen before. It is so much more lethal than the good ol' regular opium and cocaine. The addictionâs more, and it could cause death in the space of two or three years active usage. Whatâs worse, heâs going to make so much money from this drug than from any other drug heâs ever sold before; because of the stronger addiction the drug provides. Fact is, danger always sellsâ
âI guess this is where we come in thenâ Cole said, standing up and going over to the board, taking over from Ethan, as Ethan resumed his seat
âYes Cole. This is where we come in. we take him out in three days timeâ Flick said
âWeâve been planning this for weeks now. So weâre preparedâ Nath said.
âAnd⦠I think you should sit this one out Amayaâ Aaron said, whimsically
âMy nameâs Vivienne, Aaronâ she said eyeing him
âYour middle name is Amaya and the last time I checked, your middle name is also your name, as long as it's on your birth certificateâ
âDon't you know? I don't have a birth certificate. I come from hell. It burnt, on my way, passing through the hell carnalâ she said, cocking her head to the side, trying not to be pissed. Knowing what he meant.
âYeah I think heâs kinda right Vivâ Cole said tapping the board
âOh my gosh! Are you fucking serious?. You guys planned this? Well your thoughts are sincerely appreciated, Aaron and Cole, but with due respect, Iâm going on this missionâ Viv said looking at all of them, her face deadly serious
âThere is a reason why they probably donât want you to attempt this mission. One last little detail that on a normal day should not matter to usâ¦up until nowâ Ethan offered
âWhich is?â she raised a brow
âThe Italian isnât just a worldwide financial philanthropistâ
âO..kay?â she urged him on, anxious to hear whatever it was
âHeâs also one of the seven high council members of the Order of Machiavelli. He isnât just a member Viv. Heâs one of the high councils, who have a say in what goes on in the Orderâ
âThatâs impossible. Theyâd never grant someone this reckless, a seat on the councilâ Vivienne replied disbelievingly
âI recently just learned of this myself. Yesterday. And youâre right. They shouldnât normally give him a spot on council, but the Italian comes from the popular Monteiro family. Which means old money and a crazy amount of old fucking prestige and family traditions, very deep roots tooâ. Ethan replied thoughtfully
âIn other words, he brings too much to the table, for the Order of Machiavelli to turn him awayâ Cole replied smirking.
