Chapter 151
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
Francis didnât expect Sunny to answer the phone.
After a brief silence, he asked with a smile, âDid you charge your phone?â
âI⦠um, I just plugged it in!â Sunny replied absentmindedly.
âWhere are you signing the contract? Iâll come pick you up.â Francisâ tone was calm.
âI⦠Iâm at the Four Weathers Hotel.â
Sunny could tell that Francis was eager to find him.
Presumably, Francis couldnât reach him earlier and thought Sunny might have run off with the money.
After hanging up, Francis breathed a sigh of relief, lit a cigarette, and drove to the Four Weathers Hotel.
After finishing a round of training, Carlisle went to the basketball court to find Mike.
Mike was sweating profusely and taking a few sips of iceâcold cola,
He glanced at Carlisle and said, âSomeoneâs messing with you? Whatâs it got to do with me? Arenât you
close with Heath? Have him come and pick you up!â
There were four school bullies in the school, and they usually didnât interfere with each other.
Mike knew the group Carlisle was talking about, and Austin had long bought them off.
Austin was the son of Riverlandâs richest man, Yuriel.
Offending Austin would probably mean even lán couldnât protect him.
Carlisle sneered. âI paid you a thousand bucks for protection. Arenât you supposed to keep me safe?
Are you afraid of them?â
Mike was provoked, glaring at Carlisle. âDo you really think Iâm afraid of them? Iâll escort you out of the
school later. Letâs see if they dare to lay a finger on you!â
While he didnât dare to offend Austinâs men, they also didnât dare to offend Mike, either. After all, lan
held power in this area.
Carlisle smiled and said, âThanks, Mike. Iâll treat you guys to a meal another day!â
Mike waved his hand impatiently. âGet lost. Your thousand bucks is only enough for me to help you
once!â
Carlisle turned away, and his expression darkened instantly. After taking a deep breath, he headed
toward the drill ground.
After a few steps, his phone rang. He took out his phone and saw it was Francis calling.
âFrancis, any news about Sunny?â
âYeah, Sunny is currently signing the contract with them. That kid took out all four million in cash.
Francis continued to analyze the sequence of events surrounding Sunnyâs reappearance.
âI think he did consider running off with the money at first, but then he probably thought about the
consequences, so he gave up the idea.â
âAs long as heâs still around, itâs fine. Letâs not speculate about the reasons,â Carlisle replied.
âDo we still need him after this?â Francis asked, a cold gleam flashing in his eyes.
If he were Carlisle, he definitely wouldnât keep a potential threat around.
Carlisle pondered momentarily, then sighed. âNow is precisely when we need people. Letâs keep him
for
now.â
Francisâ analysis was just his own guess.
Carlisle had his own thoughts. He believed Sunny might have had other reasons. As for the specific
reasons, he couldnât be bothered to delve into them.
It would be a significant achievement if Sunny could secure the abandoned ice rink and karaoke.
After ending the call, Carlisle switched his phone to silent mode and placed it in the storage box before
returning to the queue.
Standing in his position, Carlisle glanced in Wandaâs direction. Wanda was busy on the phone with her
head lowered.
She received numerous calls this afternoon, so she was making phone calls every halftime break.
Lawrence prompted Wanda to hang up the phone quickly. She placed it back in the storage box before
returning to her position.
After the military training ended in the afternoon, the students rushed to the storage box to retrieve their
phones.
When Carlisle grabbed his phone, he also noticed Wandaâs delicate hand reaching into the crowd for
hers. A smirk crept onto his lips as he gently pinched Wandaâs soft hand.
Wanda hadnât squeezed to the front; she simply retrieved her phone from between the people. Sensing
someone grabbing her hand, she felt goosebumps all over her body.
Just as she was about to resist in angerâ¦
