Chapter 155
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
After enjoying a satisfying meal, Carlisle and the others returned to their respective homes. Francis had
drunk quite a bit, so Carlisle had to hail a taxi back to school.
Carlisle was immediately taken aback when he entered his dormitory. His roommates stood nervously
on either side.
Mike, with a swollen face, was smoking on Carlisleâs bed. Two other young men stood beside him with
rolledâup sleeves.
âMike⦠What happened?â Carlisle approached him.
Mike narrowed his eyes at Carlisle and snorted. âWhat happened? Itâs all because of you!â
Carlisle put on a grateful expression and said, âThank you, Mike, for your generous help. Let me treat
you and your friends to a feast at A1 Seafood Restaurant tomorrow.â
Mike was hoping to gain some benefits from Carlisle. Seeing Carlisle being so understanding, his
expression softened a bit.
âNo need for a feast. Just give me three thousand. I still need to buy cigarettes for lanâs men!â
âThreeâ¦â Carlisle was dumbfounded. In reality, he didnât even have one thousand bucks on him. :
âHm?â Mikeâs expression darkened, and his two companions immediately stepped forward. It seemed
they wouldnât let him go easily without getting the money.
Carlisle gritted his teeth and forced a smile. âI donât have that much money on me right now. How about
tomorrow? Come to the dormitory at this time tomorrow!â
âFine, you better not play with me!â Mike warned before leaving with his companions.
âDamn, Carl, you should consider changing dormitories. With you here, weâre constantly on edge!â
Jasper Sutton lamented, sitting on the bed opposite Carlisle.
âMike was here for a whole hour, so we had to stand just as long. We already had to stand as a
punishment during military training, but now we have to continue standing even in our dormitory!
Please, have some sympathy for us.â
The other roommates also looked displeased as they glanced at Carlisle.
At this moment, Daniel spoke up/âCarlisle, I think you should tell the teachers. You can just let Mike
push you around all the time.â
Carlisle smiled helplessly. âDo you think telling the teachers will help?â
There wouldnât be such gangâlike behavior in school if telling the teachers worked. But this situation
wouldnât last long.
Once Heath dealt with lan, the underground forces in several nearby areas would be reshuffled. These
small gangs in the school would have to submit to Heathâs authority.
Daniel shrugged. âItâs up to you if you have the money. Iâve warned you, anyway.â
At that moment, Shane Foster suddenly asked, âIâm going downstairsâ to buy some drinks. Does
anyone
need anything?â
âHelp me get two packs of beef jerky!â
âIâll have a bottle of coke!â
Several classmates immediately handed money to Shane.â
âAs usual, 50 cents for the delivery fee!â Shane said with a playful smile.
Carlisle took out a hundredâdollar bill from his pocket. âTodayâs incident has caused inconvenience to
everyone. Let me treat you all to some snacks and drinks. Shane, use this to buy something for them!â
âWow, you sure are generous!â
âCal, youâre awesome!â
âDamn it, if Mike dares to bother Cal again next time, Iâll be the first to beat him up!â
The roommates seemed to have forgotten the earlier incident, all trying to please Carlisle.
Most of them came from ordinary families, with a monthly allowance of only about 400 dollars. Treating
them to snacks for 100 bucks was quite generous of Carlisle.
âCal, I spoke too loudly just now. Please donât take it to heart!â
Jasperâs attitude had changed, and his face was filled with a flattering smile.
Carlisle had first given Mike a thousand bucks as protection money, and now he promised to give him
another three thousand.
He didnât even bat an eye at Mikeâs request just now. Clearly, he came from a wealthy family.
Jasper believed he should rely on friends when he was away from home.
What did a small punishment like standing for a while matter if he could be friends with a rich kid?
