Chapter 229
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
Sarah started feeling uneasy as she watched Austin be very polite to Lethan.
More so with how Lethan stared at herâit was intimidating.
Lethan cut in coldly, âWell? Go on. What were you about to say?â
Even without Sarah finishing her sentence, Lethan seemed to already know what she was thinking.
He wouldnât allow anyone to bully his niece.
Sarah cowered behind Austin, trembling.
Austin forced a smile and said, âMr. Warbane, please, calm down. My girlfriend didnât mean any harm. Surely, you wouldnât hold it against her, right?â
But Lethan remained unmoved.
He responded in a flat tone, âEither your girlfriend apologizes to my niece, or your dad can come fetch her.
With a deep breath, Austin pulled Sarah forward with a blank face.
âMr. Warbane is indeed Wandaâs uncle, Please apologize to Wanda.â
Tears welled up in Sarahâs eyes.
She had thought Wandaâs dad was the supposedly tough one. She wondered why even her uncle was
someone Austin couldnât mess with.
She hadnât managed to humiliate Carlisle last night and couldnât sleep a wink because of it.
That day, she tried to humiliate Wanda but ended up with an egg on her face instead.
Hands behind her back, Wanda looked at Sarah with a smirk and said, âWhat are you waiting for? Just
apologize already.â
Wanda realized Sarahâs behavior had become even more ruthless than in high school.
She knew there was no need to tolerate it anymore. It was time to fight back.
Lethan was furious seeing Sarah in tears. He demanded, âSay youâre sorry.â
Sarah, visibly shaken, quickly muttered, âIâIâm sorryâ¦â
Lethan pressed further, âIs that apology for me?â
Sarah wiped her tears and turned to Wanda, saying, âWanda, Iâm sorryâ¦
It was simply too humiliating for Sarah. She wondered when she would finally gain the upper hand over Carlisle and Wanda.
âSarah, remember, words can bring trouble. Itâs about time you learned to show some respect Wanda
advised before heading over to her uncleâs car.
Lethan shot a look at Austin and remarked, âKeep your girlfriend in check.â
Austin smiled slightly.
âThank you for the reminder, Mr. Warbane. Iâll have a talk with her.â
With a disdainful snort, Lethan climbed into his car, started the engine, and drove off.
Not too far away, Logan chuckled to herself, âAustinâs got himself a young girlfriend, but she doesnât seem too bright.â
Austin swiftly smoothed things over for Sarah, thanks to his fatherâs connections.
As they settled into the Porsche, Sarah pouted and grumbled, âAustin, when are you guys going to take down the Thompson family finally?â
Clearly frustrated, Austin gripped the steering wheel tightly and muttered, âThat dayâs not too far off. Trust
me.â
âWhen it happens, I want them to have nowhere to hide in Riverland!â
Sarahâs face was filled with cold determination.
As Austin drove the Porsche out of the parking lot, he turned to Sarah and said, âSarah, just a heads up- letâs try to keep things lowâkey for now. My dadâs in the thick of dealing with the Thompsons, so we canât stir up any major trouble.â
âGot it.â Sarah nodded.
âAlso, loaning can be a risky business. Iâm thinking of getting you a financial advisor and a lawyer. Youâll need to heed their advice,â Austin added.
âWell, that might not be necessary. Iâve already got my cousin on board. Sheâs been working at another loan company for three years,â Sarah replied cautiously while keeping an eye on Austinâs reaction.
Austin steered with one hand while the other rested on Sarahâs smooth leg.
His voice was deep and magnetic as he said, âThe company is yours, so itâs your call. But now that your company is established, donât you think you owe me something?â
Sarahâs face flushed even redder, and she lowered her head.
She whispered, âI⦠Iâm on my periodâ¦â
A smirk played across Austinâs lips. âThere are other ways, you know.â
Baffled, Sarah asked, âWhat other ways do you mean?â
Austin flashed a wicked smile as he drove towards his mansion.
