Chapter 234
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
Leon shook his head, smiling gently.
âIâm not really into all the scheming and plotting that goes with joining a fashion company. I think a simple
life is what I want.â
âBut youâre still young. Your mentor would be disappointed to see you settle like this!â
Wandaâs voice held a mix of admiration and concern as she persisted.
She believed Leonâs talent could propel Islo Clothing to international fame.
Despite Wandaâs eamest pleas, Leonâs smile remained unwavering.
âMy mentor supports my decision.â
Visibly deflated, Wanda sighed.
âAlright then. Iâll respect your choice as well.â
Carlisle, lounging in his chair, chimed in, âYouâre going to stick to what you said earlier, right?â
Leon nodded.
âOf course. I always keep my word.â
A mischievous smile played at the corner of Carlisleâs mouth.
âThen youâre definitely going to lose because weâre never breaking up!â
A blush tinged Wandaâs cheeks. Her heart swelled with a newfound sweetness.
Although Carlisle hadnât explicitly confessed, his words clearly implied that he embraced her as his girlfriend.
Leonâs grin broadened.
âI hope Iâll be taking your wedding photos in four years!â
His words sparked a vision in both Carlisle and Wanda. Their eyes were drawn to the bridal gowns in the shop window.
Wandaâs eyes lit up, already envisioning herself in a wedding dress.
âHold on a moment, you guys. Iâll grab you a gift!â
Leon picked up a DSLR camera/from the counter and disappeared into the workroom, closing the door
behind him.
âWhat kind of gift do you think it is? Wanda asked excitedly.
Carlisle shrugged.
âI have no ideaâ¦â
As Wanda admired the stunning photographs adorning the walls, she suddenly turned to Carlisle.
âWhere should we go for a walk later?â
Carlisle was caught off guard and hesitated before asking, âWhere would you like to go?â
His previous corporate life had left little room for romantic outings. Thus, he felt out of his depth in suggesting locations.
Chewing on her finger thoughtfully, Wandaâs eyes danced with mischief before she suggested shyly, âHow
about⦠Yearning Island?â
âYearning Island?â
Observing her bashful manner, Carlisle couldnât resist teasing, âWho are you yearning for?â
Wandaâs cheeks deepened in color, and she playfully brandished her fist.
âDonât tempt me to hit you! You can believe it or not!â
âI believe you! Iâm sorry!â Carlisle quickly capitulated with a sincere tone.
Smoothing her hair behind her ear, Wanda managed a small smile.
âSeeing how wellâbehaved you are, I guess Iâll just have to forgive you.â
Almost immediately, Carlisle leaned in again.
He provoked her, âI dare to do it again!â
âYou⦠you dareâ¦â
Wanda stood, hands on hips, her posture defiant.
With a brazen glance, Carlisle commented, âPuff it up a bit moreâ¦â
âPervert!â Wanda shrieked, covering herself.
The door to Leonâs workroom creaked open, and both quickly composed themselves as if their playful exchange had never occurred.
Leon approached with a collection of photos and a broad grin.
âI took some photos of you two while shooting the wedding dresses!â
Carlisle accepted the photos. The photo on the top of the pile caught his eye immediately.
It captured him and Wanda gazing deeply into each otherâs eyes, resembling a poignant closeâup from a
romantic film.
It pictured a scene of the young couple standing entranced by one another on a bustling street.
In the photo, Wanda tilted her head slightly, meeting Carlisleâs tender gaze as he looked down at her.
Their eyes locked, creating a bubble of intimacy that shut out the bustling street and passersby. The artfully blurred background emphasized how they existed solely for each other at that moment.
Wanda leaned closer, her eyes widening with awe.
âThis photo is stunning!â
