Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell

The project manager on the other line had broken out in a cold sweat as he replied shakily, âYes, maâam.â
It was nearly impossible for him to rally eight more construction teams in a day, but he had no choice other than to agree to Shaniaâs request for now.
After ending the call, Shania turned and asked Nathan, âAnything else?â
âNone for now,â Nathan replied. âLet our brother take a look at the proposal.
He handed the proposal back to Shania, who accepted it. Belated realization dawned upon her as she
gaped at Nathan incredulously. âWait, what did you just say?â
âLet our brother take a look at it. As in, let Lethan read the proposal,â Nathan answered innocently.
âLethanâs not your brother! Heâs mine!â Shania snapped.
Nathan scrunched up his nose, chuckling as he said, âI mean, Iâve known you for long enough to see him
as my brother too.â
As Lethan took the proposal from Shania, he eyed them with amusement and pointed out, âYouâre both
old enough to start going out, I think.â
Shania shoveled food into her mouth as she grumbled, âDonât be ridiculous. Nathan isnât my type; I like
them manly.â
Lethan laughed and lowered his head as he scanned the contents of the proposal.
Nathanâs face darkened as he said in hushed tones, âHow am I not manly? Iâve got abs for days and the
height of a supermodel!â
âYeah, but youâre so princely and meek, Shania countered.
âI can change all that!â he argued.
âOh? I look forward to it then,â she said.
âIf I succeed, does that mean Iâll have a shot with you?â Nathan asked.
âWeâll see,â Shania groused.
Nathanâs gaze darkened as he looked down and continued eating. Shania let out a quiet breath of relief.
All she wanted was to work on her career; she wasnât looking to date anyone. She saw no reason to rush
into marriage even before Lethan had
Carlisle went back to the dorm and called it a night after grabbing dinner with Sean.
However, he had only just lay down in bed when Lawrence showed up at the dorm entrance with a notebook in hand.

âGood evening, Mr. Hanson.â Daniel was sitting up in bed and massaging his swollen calves, flashing Lawrence a grin as he asked, âAre you here to tell us we get a day off tomorrow?â
Lawrence said unsympathetically, âWeâll be training as usual tomorrow.â
Carlisle sat up in bed as well and greeted, âGood evening, Mr. Hanson.â
Nodding in acknowledgment, Lawrence said, âThe bonfire partyâs next Monday. Your guidance counselor wanted me to ask you guys if youâd like to perform that night.â
Danielâs eyes lit up. This was his chance to showcase his talent and gain Christineâs attention. At the thought of this, he told Lawrence, âI can dance, Mr. Hanson!â
Lawrence laughed and asked, âBreakdancing?â
âYes, sir. Iâve been learning since I was in grade school,â Daniel said. âI was even dance champion in a few cityâwide competitions!â
âPretty impressive,â Lawrence praised as he jotted down Danielâs name in his notebook. âIn that case, from tomorrow onward, you can get off training two hours before the rest of your peers.â
Hearing this, Daniel said arrogantly, âCome on, Mr. Hanson, I was a dance champion! I donât need to rehearse.â
Regret filled him instantly, and he wanted to pull out his own tongue. If he could get off training earlier, he could at least take a nap in the dorm. Why did he let his stupid pride get baited like that?
