Chapter 316
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
The car door opened.
Daniel immediately stepped out from the passenger seat and opened the door for Carlisle.
Carlisle got out and gave Kelvin a glance.
That simple look was enough to terrify Kelvin and weaken his legs. He nearly collapsed.
Carlisle looked away and headed toward Papplewick Tea Shop with Daniel and Francis.
With his voice shaking, Kelvin said, âWade, Carlisleâs here. Please, youâve got to help me!â
Wade rubbed his bald head and gritted his teeth.
âAlright. Iâll help you this one time. But donât get your hopes up too high.â
Kelvin was nearly in tears.
âThank you, Wade!â
Carlisle arrived at the entrance of the tea shop.
Everyoneâs eyes were instantly on Carlisle.
Carlisle said himself, âYou guys must be the ones Heath sent.â
Arthur asked softly, âAnd you areâ¦?â
Daniel stood tall.
âThis is Carlisle, your new boss.â
âNice to meet you, Carlâ¦â
Arthur, despite being six feet tall, immediately lowered his head in greeting.
The rest of the group quickly followed, echoing. âNice to meet you, Carl!â
Carlisle waved his hand and smiled.
âItâs getting dark. Let me take you all out for dinner.â
Jamie spoke up, âWe canât let the boss pay on our first meeting. Dinnerâs on me tonight. Letâs go to A1
Seafood Restaurant.â
Arthur chimed in, âIâll cover it. I recently won some money from the lottery.â
Carlisle chuckled.
âThereâs no need to argue. Tonightâs on me. Weâre all acquainted now, so letâs not be so formal.â
He knew they wanted to make a good impression. But as their leader, he needed to show generosity and establish a positive first impression to earn their loyalty.
Jamie and Arthur reluctantly agreed.
Carlisle looked at Arthur and asked, âWhatâs your name?â
Arthur quickly responded, âIâm Arthur Gray.â
Carlisle nodded.
âTake them to A1 Seafood Restaurant.â
âAlright,â Arthur replied, organizing everyone to catch taxis to the restaurant.
Noticing Kelvin still standing there, Arthur called out, âKelvin, what are you standing around for? Get over
here!â
Kelvin trembled and reluctantly walked over.
Carlisle then asked, âIs he with you guys?â
Arthur nodded. âYeah, heâs one of Wadeâs people.
Carlisle was puzzled, wondering when Kelvin had gotten involved with Wade.
After a moment, he said, âI only want juniors and seniors.
After all, in Carlisleâs eyes, freshmen and sophomores were too young and wouldnât have any presence.
Most of the other gangs on campus comprised juniors and seniors.
Kelvinâs face fell. He couldnât help but think Carlisle was deliberately targeting him.
Arthur was secretly pleased. Without Kelvin, he could solidify his position as secondâinâcommand.
He quickly turned around to gather the group and sort them out. From the original 38 people, only 30
remained.
Carlisleâs phone rang. He checked the caller ID and saw it was a local number he didnât recognize.
âHello, whoâs this?â
âBoss, itâs me, Wadeâ¦â
Wadeâs submissive voice came through the line.
