Chapter 319
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
Mike clucked his tongue.
âYouâre indeed Melanieâs best friend!â
Mike gave Katie an appreciative look and then threw five thousand dollars at her.
After lanâs death, Luke took most of the money, leaving only ten million for Mike.
It wasnât much compared to lanâs billions, but he was satisfied.
Mike felt it was at least better than the three thousand dollars monthly allowance lan gave him.
Katie pocketed the ten thousand dollars and was about to leave.
Melanie, feeling woozy, grabbed Katieâs wrist.
âKat⦠please⦠take me with youâ¦â
Katie shook off Melanieâs hand and said, âMike truly cares about you. If you stay with him, youâll live in luxury and wonât have to wash dishes or do partâtime jobs just for some spare change.â
Hearing Katieâs cold and heartless tone, Melanieâs eyes filled with tears.
After Katie left, Mike waved his hand, and his men, who occupied three tables, cleared out of the room.
Moments later, screams and sounds of dishes and glass shattering came from the room.
At the same time, Sean and Owen arrived with over 30 people.
Carlisle and Francis didnât tag along. They stayed back in the private room, ordering food.
In the hallway, Mikeâs subordinates recognized Sean and Owen.
Sean and Owern had been beaten black and blue before.
At the sight of them with so many people, they were clearly here to cause trouble.
Arthur asked, âSean, do we go straight in, or.?â
Looking at the familiar faces in the hallway and hearing Melanie screaming from the private room, Sean said, âScrew it. That bastardâs hurting a girl. Weâre going in now.â
Arthur had been a brawler since high school and had even undergone special training. He tore off his
shirt, revealing a formidable set of muscles, and charged in.
In the private room, Carlisle could already hear the sounds of the fight outside.
Francis chuckled.
âI wonder if they can handle it. Maybe I should go help.â
Carlisle shook his head.
âThat musclehead can take on five guys by himself.â
A glint appeared in Francisâ eyes.
âYou sure have a knack for finding the right people!â
He recognized Arthurâs incredible strength. In a lifeâorâdeath match, Francis might be able to kill him, but in a brawl with restraint, even he might not stand a chance.
The manager of A1 Seafood Restaurant entered the private room, trembling
âMr. Zahn, the surveillance cameras are off.â
He had just received a call from Heath, insisting that the current incident be swept under the rug or A1 Seafood Restaurant would be out of business. He relayed this to the boss, who told him to handle it.
Carlisle smiled and gestured for the manager to sit.
âRelax. Iâll cover the cost of any damages.â
The manager sighed.
âEven though lan is dead, Luke is still around. Heâs even more ruthless than lan.â
Carlisle suddenly looked up at the manager, who flinched.
Did
âDid I say something wrong?â
âNo, you actually reminded me of something.â
Carlisle pulled out his phone and called Heath, intending to have him cause Luke trouble.
As soon as Heath answered, Carlisle said, âCreate some trouble for Luke.â
Heath laughed.
âIâm already at their doorstep.â
The sounds of fighting erupted over the phone.
Carlisleâs tone grew serious as he asked, âAre you planning to take them all out in one go?â
Heath replied, âYeah, in one swift move.â
Carlisle warned, âYou risk mutual destruction. Watch out for Albert.â.
The noise on the other end was overwhelming, and Carlisle hung up after a few more words.
Back in Mikeâs private room, Mike had several deep scratches on his face. Melanieâs clothes were torn, exposing a lot of her pale skin.
