Chapter 354
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
After an hourâs wait, a taxi finally arrived.
The window rolled down. And as soon as Narcisse saw Jalen, she happily shouted, âDaddy!â
Jalen felt his heart melt and quickly walked over to open the car door.
He scooped Narcisse out of the car, his face full of affection. âMy precious daughter, did they bully you?â
Narcisse shook her head and said, âNo, Daddy. They treated me very well and even bought me ice cream!â
Jalen looked at the taxi driver and asked, âWhere did you pick my daughter up?â
âNetwork Nexus at Riverwatch District,â the driver replied.
âWhat did they look like?â Jalen pressed.
âI donât know. They were wearing masks.â The driver shook his head.
âAlright, I understand. Thank you,â Jalen said, knowing he wouldnât glean any helpful information from him.
He knew the kidnappers were clever enough not to leave a trace. But he wouldnât let them get away with
Holding Narcisse in his arms, Jalen returned to the villa and instructed the housekeeper, âTake my daughter for a bath and change her clothes. Her teacher and classmates will be here soon!â
The housekeeper took Narcisse upstairs.
Jalen then called Henry over.
As soon as Henry entered the villa, he excitedly said, âBoss, the person we let go turned out to be Benjamin!â
âBenjamin?â Jalen was puzzled. âWhoâs Benjamin?â
Henry sneered, âPrince Heathâs brother!â
Jalenâs eyes narrowed to slits. âSo, heâs one of Prince Heathâs men!â
Henry said gravely, âIâll assemble our men and eliminate him tonight!â
Jalen thought for a moment, then shook his head. âToday is Narcisseâs birthday. Letâs not cause any trouble tonight. Weâll deal with him later.â
Back at the apartment, Carlisle removed his mask and slumped onto the couch with a sigh of relief.
Francis also took off his mask and reminded him, âJalen wonât let this go easily. Heâll eventually trace it back to you.â
Carlisle shook his head. âJalen will go after Benjamin first. Thatâs my main concern right now.â

After saying this, Carlisle suddenly looked up at Francis. âStick with Benjamin for the next few days and
ensure his safety.â
âWhat about you?â
âIâll be safe at school. Donât worry.â Carlisle planned to stay on campus for a while.
It wouldnât be easy for Jalen to trace things back to him, but Benjamin had already shown his face to
Jalenâs people. They would soon know all about Benjamin.
With this in mind, Carlisle took out his phone and dialed Benjaminâs number.
Benjamin was tending to his wounds when his phone suddenly vibrated. He picked it up and answered
the call.
âCarlisleâ¦â His speech was slurred due to his injured tongue.
âLiquidate all of Heathâs assets,â Carlisle ordered.
âWhat?â Benjamin was full of questions, and his emotions surged. âWhy, Carlisle?â
These assets were partly bought with Carlisleâs 15 million dollars and partly earned through Heathâs hard work. Selling everything felt like letting Heathâs efforts go to waste.
âJust do as I say. Leave Riverland with Heath tonight.â Carlisleâs voice carried an undeniable authority.
After a brief hesitation, Benjamin reluctantly agreed. âAlright.â
He paused and then asked, âWho should I sell them to?â
A smile played at the corner of Carlisleâs mouth. âSell them to Titan.â
Benjamin didnât understand Carlisleâs strategy but reluctantly ended the call.
Valin frowned and asked, âDid Carlisle tell you to sell our assets?â
Benjamin nodded.
Sirius was visibly agitated and exclaimed, âBenjamin, Carlisle doesnât trust your abilities!â

He rained punches on him and grabbed Siriusâ throat as he yelled, âAre you working for Titan and Jalen? Are you trying to divide us?
Siusâ eyes bulged as he struggled to breathe
Valin couldnât stand by any longer. He pulled Benjamin away. Benjamin, calm down! We all served under Horace. Sirius would never betray us
Remembering how Sinus had refused to betray them under Jalenâs torture, Benjamin slowly released his
Seeing a chance to reason, Valin said, âSinus does have a point, though. Carlisle mentioned the alternative medicine to play on your emotions and ensure your loyalty.â
âYou want to get hit too?â Benjamin glared at him.
Valin wisely shut his mouth.
Benjamin gradually calmed down and helped Sirius up. He then sat back on the couch and said slowly,â Heath once told me something very wise. Do you want to hear it?â
Valin nodded.
Sirius took out a cigarette with bloodied hands, put it in his mouth, and lit it.
Benjamin continued, âHeath said that Carlisle gave us a future, and we are destined to work for him.â
Valin and Sirius lowered their heads.
Carlisle had indeed given them everything they now had. Their loyalty to him was unquestionable.
It would have been no different if Heath had told them to kidnap Jalenâs daughter. They would have gone
ahead, risking their lives to get the job done.
After all, Heath had provided them with a life of comfort and luxury.
Benjamin went on, âThe thing is, when Carlisle asked me to do this, I hesitated. Thatâs why he had to play
the emotional card. If Heath were here, he would have executed Carlisleâs orders without a second
thought.â
Sirius took a long drag on his cigarette, his emotions in turmoil. âWeâve worked so hard to build this
