Chapter 419
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
Carlisle had no idea what Shein had said to Wanda.
He suspected that Shein had deceived her somehow, but Carlisle couldnât expose him.
He ruffled Wandaâs hair and fought back the tears.
He smiled and said, âOkay. Get better soon, and Iâll be here waiting for you!â
Wandaâs condition was not an ordinary one.
Luna wasnât a professional neurologist, either.
Her treatment plan might be able to alleviate the symptoms, but it wouldnât get to the root of the problem.
Moreover, Shein wouldnât lie about taking Wanda to Yorksle for treatment.
Carlisle also hoped that Wanda would recover as soon as possible. He wasnât contemptuous of how helpless she currently was. In fact, he liked how sweet she was then. Nevertheless, it was still an illness. He didnât think itâd be a good idea to drag it out.
Wanda pinched his nose.
âIâll continue annoying you when I return.â
Carlisle grabbed her hand.
He said gently, âYou must keep your word and get better as soon as possible.â
Wanda nodded meekly.
âI want some candy.â
Carlisle often kept a few pieces of creamy candy in his pocket.
He took one out, unwrapped it, and fed it to Wanda.
Wanda pouted and said, âI want you to feed it to me with your mouth!â
Carlisle laughed and looked awkwardly at Queenie, who slapped a hand to her forehead.
What had she taught them?
âIâll wait for you outside.â
She got up and went out.
Carlisle popped the candy into his mouth and kissed Wandaâs red lips.
It was a long, gentle kiss.
Carlisle explored her mouth hungrily. She wrapped her arms around his neck as she responded in kind.
The two of them only separated after more than three minutes, and a string of saliva stretched out
between their
A1 2:00 pm Wards got into Sheirâs car
She pressed her face to the window to look at Carlisle, who was standing at the side of the road. Tears
trickled from her eyes.
Carlisle smiled and waved.
Shein said slowly. âDrive straight to the airport.â
Carlisle didnât return to his senses until the car disappeared at the end of the road.
He felt as if it had all been a dream, and now he was wide awake.
Wanda wouldnât be with him for now.
He wondered how he could get used to not having her around.
Queenie stood beside him and said softly, âItâs time for this to endâ¦â
Carlisleâs heart jolted violently.
He turned to her and asked, âWhatâs going to end?â
âNothing! Iâm going back to the university.â
Queenie shook her head and strode toward the university gates.
Carlisle watched her leave thoughtfully.
He sensed that Queenie must know something.
However, she was Zacharyâs girlfriend. She would never divulge what she knew to Carlisle.
A car honked beside him.
Carlisle turned and saw a yellow Ferrari.
Gareth cocked his head.
âGet in. Weâre going drinking.â
âI have class!â
âWill you be able to focus in class right now?â Gareth grinned, flashing all his teeth.
He had passed by three minutes ago and caught sight of Wanda leaving with Shein.
He reckoned that Wandaâs departure must have devastated Carlisle, seeing that they had been rather
close recently.
Gareth didnât believe that Carlisle could focus in class at all.
Carlisleâs lip curled. He pulled open the door on the passengerâs side and got in.
Gareth put on his sunglasses and said, âSit tight. Iâm going to take you for a ride!â
3/3
Gareth had just recently broken up with his girlfriend, and he knew exactly how to get Carlisleâs mind off things. Although Carlisle hadnât broken up with Wanda, he was in pretty much the same state as Gareth had been in.
Carlisle took out his phone and said, âLet me excuse myself.â
He called Susan and told her he was unwell and wouldnât be in class.
Susan accepted his reason for being absent. She knew that Shein had pulled Wanda out of university to receive treatment in Yorksle, so she could understand how Carlisle felt.
A roar sounded as the bright yellow Ferrari sped down the street like lightning.
The engine rumbled like a wild, roaring beast.
The people on the street all looked over enviously at the gleaming, luxurious car.
Some photographers even raised their SLR cameras to capture the lavish scene.
Carlisle sat in the passengerâs seat, and the wind whipped his hair back from his forehead.
He enjoyed the adrenaline rush of the extreme speed and the satisfying sensation of the wind whipping at
his face.
From the corner of his eye, he could see the streets on either side fall back rapidly, and the oppressive feeling in his heart slowly disappeared.
Gareth played with his phone as he drove, causing Carlisleâs heart to leap into his mouth with
nervousness.
