Chapter 57
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
âI wouldnât believe you
you!â
Sean shook his head.
Heâd rather believe that Carlisle had psychic abilities than entertain the idea of him being a time
traveler.
Metaphysics and mythology were two different things.
Carlisle had previously added the player who taught him how to play The Mystical Journey at the
internet
cafe.
His username was The Sly Knight.
Suddenly, a notification flashed on the game interface. Carlisle clicked it open and saw that it was at
message from The Sly Knight,
The Sly Knight wrote, âItâs been a while since you last came to the internet cafe!â
Carlisle replied, âIâve come to Riverland to study!â
âYouâre a university student?â
âYup!â
âIf you donât mind, can I ask you something?â
âAsk away!â
âCould you lend me a hundred dollars?â
âHave you encountered some problems?â
âMy sister broke her leg. Iâve already sold all my inâgame machinery, but Iâm still short on funds for the
surgery. Iâve already borrowed as much as I can! Iâm truly out of options!â
Sean glanced at Carlisle and The Sly_Knightâs conversation. He immediately said, âYou must not
believe him, Carlisle! Heâs obviously lying to you. If his sister truly needs surgery, how could he still be
online?â
Sean pondered for a moment before replying. âIs a hundred dollars enough?â
The Sly Knight immediately typed back, âNo, but I only dare to ask you for this much. Youâre still a
student, so even a hundred dollars must be a stretch for you!â
Carlisle asked, âHow much more do you need?â
âFive hundred dollarsâ¦â
âCarl, you canât possibly be thinking of lending him the money, are you? Five hundred dollars is
equivalent to an ordinary personâs monthly salary!â
Sean was starting to grow anxious. He reached out to switch off Carlisleâs computer, but his hand was
immediately swatted away.

âBetter to be safe than sorry. If something were to happen to his sister just because of five hundred
dollars, Iâd never forgive myselfâ¦â
Sean exclaimed, âAre the two of you even close? There are so many people in need in this world.
Thereâs
no way you can help every single one of Just because you have some money, do you think youâre
now some sort of philanthropist?â
Carlisle knew that Sean was just looking out for him, worried that he might be scammed.
Based on the few interactions he had with The Sly_Knight and his two life experiences, he believed
that the person was not a scammer.
Carlisle patted Seanâs shoulder and said with a smile, âFive hundred dollars isnât that much. Itâs not that
big of a deal!â
âDo whatever you like!â
Seeing that Carlisle had already made up his mind, Sean no longer continued to persuade him.
Carlisle took out his phone and called the Internet cafeâs owner, Ivan Sanders.
âMr. Sanders, this is Carlisleâ¦â
âCarlisle?â
Upon hearing Carlisleâs voice, Ivan nearly dropped the cigarette in his mouth.
Why was Carlisle suddenly calling him?
Could Carlisle have seen the price of the Heavenly Sword posted on the forum and regretted it?
Damn itâ¦
It was too late now.
If Carlisle dared come looking for him, he would simply give him a piece of his mind.
However, thinking about how he had decided to turn a new leaf and his pregnant wife, Ivan was
hesitant.
If there was no other option, he was willing to give him a portion of his earnings.
âMr. Sanders, could you lend me five hundred dollars? Iâll go to the bank and transfer the money to you
tomorrow!â
Using a passbook to transfer money could only be done at the bankâs counter.
The bank was already closed, so he could only turn to Ivan for the money.
Ivan let out a sigh of relief.
While five hundred dollars wasnât a small amount, considering that he was about to make fifty thousand
dollars from selling the Heavenly Sword, this amount was nothing.
Carlisle cradled his phone between his ear and shoulder as he asked The Sly_Knight which computer
booth he was at.
Chopte: 57
âIâm on the first floor. Booth number eight!â The Sly Knight immediately replied.
Carlisle told Ivan about The Sly Knightâs situation.
Upon hearing that his customerâs sister had leukemia, Ivan immediately said, âYouâre a good person,
Carlisle, How about this? Iâll give him an additional five hundred dollars in my nameâ¦â
âThank you so much, Mr. Sandersâ¦â
Carlisle couldnât help but look at Ivan in a positive light.
He was unaware that the Heavenly Sword had now risen to an exorbitant price of 130 thousand dollars.
Ivan hung up the phone and went to his bedroom closet to retrieve the money.
