Chapter 65
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
The students listened attentively. They all took out their notepads to begin taking notes.
Even when the bell rang, everyone was still deeply immersed, as though they couldnât get enough of
what was being taught.
âClass dismissed!â Susan didnât want to hold students back, so as soon as the bell rang, she swiftly
took her materials and left the classroom.
anda was still carefully analyzing the content in her notebook when Carlisle suddenly p
her a note.
She curiously unfolded it to read what was written inside. It read, âWould you like to have lunch
together?â
A blush slowly crept up Wandaâs neck. She huffed, âWho wants to eat with you? I still havenât gotten
even with you for removing me from your contact on MSN Messenger!â
âSo, you really are Sweet_like_candy.â Carlisle pursed his lips. How could he not have thought that
Wanda would ask someone else to call him?
âDidnât see that coming, huh? You dummy!â Wanda lifted her chin proudly.
âDidnât I guess it right the first time we talked? Otherwise, why would I be willing to talk to you for so
long?
Carlisle replied with a stubborn look on his face.
âThat means you knew who I was, yet you still removed me?â Wanda responded in an aggrieved tone.
âFine! You win!â Carlisle grinned. âSo, to express my apology, Iâll treat you to lunch!â
Fidgeting around the desk and biting her lip, Wanda asked in a barely audible voice, âIs this a date?â
Carlisle, who had been single in two of his lifetimes, felt his cheeks blushing. He scratched his head
awkwardly and stuttered, âI⦠I guess?â
âOkay! Iâll have lunch with you!â
Wanda pouted her lips, and her cheeks were flushed red. It made her absolutely adorable.
Right at that moment, Carlisleâs phone rang.
âGreat! Then, itâs decided. Let me take this call first!â
Carlisle grinned and then took out his phone to answer it.
âWhere are you, Carl? Iâm at Riverland University!â Sean, who was on the other end of the line, asked.
âThat was quick. Donât tell me you sneaked out without telling your mom?â
âHow could I possibly dare tell her?â Sean chuckled nervously.
âWhere are you? Iâll look for you.â
âIâm at the phone booth right across the street!â
âAlright. Iâll be right there!â
Carlisle hung up the phone and said to Wanda, âWanda, I have some matters to attend to. Could you
help me inform the teacher about my leave?â
âSure!â Hearing Carlisle calling her name so affectionately, Wanda felt her face becoming redder.
Outside the school gates, there was a stretch of public telephone booths right across the street. Sean,
who was dressed in his school uniform, was squatting with a cigarette in his hands.
He had his eyes fixed on the school gates. As soon as Carlisle walked out, he immediately got up and
waved to him, âCarl, Iâm over here!â
Carlisle strode across the street. He glanced at Seanâs dark circles and said, âLetâs go. Iâd like to take
you
somewhere first!â
âCarl, Iâm hungry!â Sean rubbed his stomach and said with a pout, âTo save up for the bus fare, I
havenât had a single drop of water since last night!â
Carlisle didnât want to skip class on the first day of school, so he had to resolve Seanâs problem as
quickly as he could.
He found a hotel nearby and handed Sean a hundredâdollar bill. âTake this money for now. Iâll take you
to rent a room longâterm after school.â
Upon seeing the hundredâdollar bill, Sean instantly lit up. He flashed a bright smile. âAlright. Thanks,
Carl
own.â Carlisle nodded and reminded him, âIâll look for you at 6.00 pm. If I donât see you here, youâre on
you
Sean was obsessed with surfing the web. This was why Carlisle was worried he wouldnât be able to
find Sean later. On top of that, it was also a way of training Sean to listen.
