Chapter 69
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
âWanda, you donât have to give me the change. Just keep it for next time!â Phoebe grinned.
Wanda blushed slightly. âOkay, let me know when you want to call next time!â
After a while, Carlisle and others entered the classroom with textbooks in bags. They had gone back
and forth several times since there were many textbooks.
September in Riverland was similar to June, so they were sweating profusely. Susan bought them
some iced Coke as a reward.
Carlisle returned to his seat and used his notebook to fan himself.
Wanda took out a pack of tissues from the drawer and offered it to him, whispering, âAre you
exhausted? Wipe your sweat!â
He looked at her tenderly and teased, âWipe it for me!â
âDream on!â
She blushed and pursed her lips before rolling her eyes at him. He then took out a tissue to wipe away
his
sweat.
âSomeone messaged you!â
Wanda continued to read her notes taken in the first class after reminding him.
âWhoâs it?â
I
âI havenât read it. I donât know either,â she responded indifferently.
Carlisle took out his phone and looked at it. It was a message from Sarah.
âCarl, are you free tonight? Letâs have dinner together. Enna will come over, too!â
Although Wanda was reading her book, she secretly glanced at the message from the corner of her
eye.
It was indeed from Sarah. She called him so intimately and even invited him to dinner.
Wanda pursed her lips and continued to peek at Carlisleâs phone screen. She was curious how he
would
respond.
He texted, âSorry, I donât have the time. I have something to do tonight!â
She smiled slightly as she saw how he responded to the message.
In Finance Class 3, Sarah swiftly texted, âYou donât have to treat me this time. Dinner is on me today!â
Wasnât it only a meal? Why was Carlisle being stingy?
Inexplicably, she missed the high school Carlisle, who had been loyal to her.
âMy lesson is starting. Bye!â
Carlisle didnât even bother to explain. He closed the phone cover after replying.
Wanda felt satisfied and smiled in joy.
He leaned over and asked, âWanda, why are you smiling?â
âHuh? Am I smiling?â She blinked her clear eyes innocently.
âPerhaps I saw it wrong Carlisle also smiled.
âYou must have been too tired and had hallucinations! By the way, Iâd like to find Lily for dinner tonight.
Do
you want to come with me!â
After all, Lily had been her deskmate for three years in high school. She didnât hold a college entrance
celebration, nor did she attend any of her classmatesâ college entrance celebrations.
It was the beginning of the university year. Wanda wanted to meet Lily, whose university was close to
Riverland University.
Carlisle paused before responding. âI may not have time at night.â
âOkay.â Wanda lowered her head in disappointment.
It turned out that he wasnât looking for an excuse to reject Sarah. He was indeed not free tonight. If he
had time, he might agree to have dinner with Sarah.
âI have a friend who came from Rainville. Iâll need to look for a longâterm stay for him tonight!â
Carlisle thought Wanda was disappointed because he declined her invitation.
âThatâs fine. Just go ahead with your business.â Wanda smiled forcefully before continuing to read her
notes in silence.
Carlisle smiled bitterly. She was still young. It was normal for her to overthink.
When he was madly pursuing Sarah in his previous life, he also overthought like Wanda.
âI can follow you to find Lily for a meal tomorrow!â Carlisle whispered.
âTomorrow is my sisterâs birthday!â
âWhat about the day after tomorrow?â
âThat day is my brotherâs birthday!7
âHow come your brother and your sisterâs birthdays are only one day apart?â
âSheâs my future sisterâin-law!â
âHow about two days later?â
âLetâs talk about it later!â
