Chapter 16

The next few days were spent with me yawning, the twins crying, and Ava staring out the window. Alaska has not come back since that fight three nights ago. I can tell Ava is hurting. She feels like her mother hates her. I can only do so much. If a child feels hated no one can change that.

Ava perks up while I am making lunch. "Mama! Mommy is here!"

I look up and see Alaska walking in with another girl. I am actually pretty sure I knew her from a class I had last year. They are holding hands. My heart sunk. I knew she eas going to be with other girls, but why did she bring one here.

"Go get you stuff Ava. We are moving back to our apartment with mommy's new girlfriend."

Ava looks at me, she looks as broken as I feel. Alaska is taking one of daughters from me to spite me. Is one thing to bring another girl into my home, but to take my daughter is the worst pain.

"What about Mama and my sisters?"

"She is not your Mama and those babies are not your sisters."

"Alaska please dont do this, punish me all you want, but do not hurt Ava."

Ava ran to me and jumped into my arms. She put her head on my shoulder and cried. It broke my heart hearing her cries. I look at Alaska and saw a flash of who she really is.

"Please Alaska. I love you and Ava. We are family. Dont do this please."

Alaska starts to cry. The girl tries to hug her, but Alaska just pushes her away. "You can leave Nancy."

Nancy storms out the door and slams it. The twins start to cry from their swings. I put Ava down and tell her to give the girls their pacifiers.

Alaska walks over to me. She gets on her knees hugging my legs and cries. "I don't know what is wrong with me Rose."

"I think you need to talk to a counselor. You need help that I cannot give you."

She nods her head knowing I was right. I hug her, running my fingers through her hair. Trying to calm her down.

"You need to talk to Ava. You hurt her more than you hurt me."

Alaska gets up and walks to Ava who is playing with Sutton and Elliot. She sits next to her and plays with the girls also. They talk for about five minutes while I am finishing lunch. I bring lunch to them and see Ava hug Alaska.

I am happy they made up. Alaska and I though have awhile until we are okay.

Later that night Alaska makes a bed on the couch per my request. I tell her goodnight and go to bed.

I am sorry, school has been hectic.  I am on spring break now, So i was able to think and write.
