William hung up the phone without saying another word.

Emelle tossed her phone aside and rummaged for some lozenges while coughing, After taking one, her coughing gradually subsided.

Once she felt better, she booked her ticket and boarded the high–speed trail to head back to Capebatt City.

As Envelle arrived at Capebatt City station and prepared to exit, she noticed a familiar figure.

Upon closer inspection, she realized it was Daphne.

They weren’t too far from each other, so Daphne noticed her, too.

Although Emelie wore a mask due to her coughing, Daphne recognized her from her eyes and figure.

Daphne was with a middle–aged woman who bore some resemblance to her. Emelse assumed it was her mother.

Daphne didn’t avoid Emelie’s gaze. Her eyes were bright, but Emelie couldn’t discem her emotions.

Just then, Emelie’s phone rang. Glancing at the screen, she noticed it was an unknown mumber calling

“Hello, who is this?“!

“I’m calling from LifeLine Hospital. Are you Greta Lowe’s family?

Emelie was stunned for a moment before replying, “Yes, I am.”

“We just got a notification that a donor heart matching Ms. Lowe’s criteria is available. She can undergo surgery now.”

Emelle was instantly overwhelmed with joy. “Really? There’s a heart available?

“Yes, so it’s best for you to bring her to the hospital tomorrow. The heart is currently in Eprand but will soon be transported here.

“Ms, Lowe needs to start preparing for the surgery.”

Emelle immediately agreed. “Okay, I’ll bring my mom to the hospital tomorrow.”

After hanging up the phone, she couldn’t contain her joy. This news completely dispelled the gloom and despair she had been feeling recently.

Waiting for a donor’s heart was extremely difficult.

Emelie had researched and found out that thousands of people were waiting for a heart every day.

Donors had to sign up for organ donation, and only after an accident or natural death could they receive a heart.

“You just go directly to the hospital. There’s no need to come back here. Don’t tire yourself out too much.”

As she exited the station, she saw Mona waiting to pick her up. she ran over and hugged her.

“Mona, the hospital has found a match for my mom’s heart. She can have the surgery!”

Mona was also very happy for her, so she took Emelie to eat & barbecue.

They ordered a whole table of meat. Nolicing Emelle’s weight loss in just a week, Mona couldn’t help but worry.

She kept piling food on Emelie’s plate.

Emelie was in a good mood. She said with a smile, “I’m fine. My priority is my mom’s recovery. Everything else can wait.”

Mona hesitated before saying, “If you really can’t find a job, maybe you should just.. surender to him.”
