William had Capebatt City in his grasp. Since he had cut off Emelie from everything, everyone thought she was his enemy.

Whenever something bad happened to her, William wouldn’t have to ask about it. Someone would bring him the news to flatter him.

That day, he was having a meal with his client. The client told William how his man saw Emelie and Mona at the police station while attending some business there. It seemed to him that the women were brought there due to some conflicts.

William didn’t say anything back then. However, he came straight to her apartment building after his meal.

William took out his phone and sent Lyle a message.

“I want you to look into how Emelie had a miscarriage six months ago.”

Mona decided to return to her parents‘ house for two months. She would return to Capebatt City and look for a new job after the New Year and once everything had settled down.

That Friday, Mona packed her belongings, and Emelie sent her to the high–speed rail station. After seeing her friend get past the checkpoint, Emelie went to Cloudex Corporation.

She would go on a business trip to Winstour City the next day, so everyone involved in the project had to attend a meeting there.

Emelie and Samuel agreed to meet at Cloudex Corporation’s entrance. When Emelie was on her way, she received a message from Samuel, saying that he had an emergency and couldn’t make it.

She pursed her lips and replied, “Alright. I’ll go by myself then.”

Samuel: “I’ll ask Charlie to accompany you.”

Emelie: “There’s no need for that. There shouldn’t be anything important. They’re probably going to talk about some things to keep in mind for the trip. I’ll note it down and tell you about it when I get back.”

Samuel gave it some thoughts and agreed.

Emelie entered Cloudex Corporation with some documents in her hands. After taking a few steps, she couldn’t help but turn and look at the entrance.

Things had changed. This time, she was entering the building to represent the research team.

Since she was early, the CEO hadn’t arrived yet. There were only a few employees getting ready in the huge meeting room.

A few more people entered the room, and Emelie noticed one of them was Jayden’s assistant. Jayden’s company had taken part in the project as well.

Their gaze met, and they greeted each other with a nod.

After that, Emelie’s gaze naturally fell on the woman that the secretary had brought.

The woman wasn’t wearing the usual business attire. Instead, she wore a red blouse that showed off her slender neck and well–defined collarbones. She was also wearing a black dress with a pair of boots. It looked comfortable and .

Her hair was curled, and when she entered the room, she made the cold room feel alive.

It was Patricia, the woman Bryan brought to the cruise ship.

When Emelie saw her, she couldn’t help but remember how Willian left her with Bryan and left with Patricia.

The next day, she noticed Patricia flirting with William under the table in the restaurant.

She instinctively frowned and thought about what had happened on the ship. She couldn’t keep calm anymore.

Emelie wondered why Patricia was there. Was she part of the Swanson Corporation?

After a short while, William and Jayden entered the room, deep in a conversation.

Emelie stood up with everyone else. William paid no attention to her. As for Jayden, his gaze was on Patricia.

“This is Ms. May, Swanson Corporation’s business development manager.”

As expected, she was part of them.

Emelie previously thought Patricia was just one of Bryan’s women. It turned out that she was a business development manager. Patricia confidentially walked toward William. She looked alluring, and when she smiled, she was even more flirtatious.

“Hello, Mr. Middleton. Long time no see.” For some reason, she sounded flirty.
