Chapter 19
Winning Her Heart Back
Chapter 19 You Can Try
William said coldly, âYou donât just think itâs a pity. You even think Iâve wronged her. Havenât you always thought weâd end up married?â
Aside from Williamâs parents, Jayden had asked him when he planned to marry Emelie before.
Jayden said pointedly. âMs. Hoven is an exceptionally attractive young woman. Now that youâve set her free, countless people have set their eyes on her. Iâm just worried you might regret things in the future. Ms. Hoven could very well be swept away by someone else by then.â
William said lightly, âShe wonât.â
âShe wonât be with someone else? Are you that certain?â
William scrutinized Jayden briefly before saying. âYou can try your luck if youâre interested.â
âYou fucker,â Jayden scoffed before making his horse trot ahead. But he did understand why William was so confident. After all, Emelie had been too obedient to Williamâs bidding for the past three years.
William was all that mattered to Emelie. She even spent her free time around him, rarely having any personal space to herself. No wonder William was so confident no one else would snatch Emelie away and that sheâd always do as he bid.
William probably only thought Emelie was throwing a tantrum out of jealousy due to the presence of Daphne.
But that possibility wasnât impossible. Maybe that was what Emelie was trying to do. After all, the lover
Emelie had for William was so apparent that only a blind man would be oblivious to it.
Regardless of what William might think, there really were a lot of people setting their sights on Amelie. After they disbanded, Troy sought Jayden to get Emelieâs phone number.
Troy was a playboy and naturally flocked to beautiful women. He had long set his
es on Emelie but
never made a move because of William. Now that their relationship had ended, Troy was eager to try and
seduce her.
Troy wasnât fussy about not pursuing women whoâd been with his friends. It wasnât like Emelie actually dated William anyway. Heck, gangbangs were a thing. What more a relationship such as theirs?
Jayden didnât give Troy Emelieâs number, but Troy still found a way to obtain it. He immediately dialed the
number.
Emelie answered softly, âWho is this?â
Troy shivered from the wave of delight at the sound of her voice. âMs. Hoven!â
Emelieâs brows furrowed slightly. âYes?â
âIâm Troy Spencer. Do you remember me?â
Emelie recalled who he was. Troy was Williamâs friend. âHi there, Mr. Spencer.â
Those 19 YOGNA TYY
âI heard youâre changing jobs, and I happen to require a secretary, so why donât you come and work for me? Iâll pay you double!â
âWhat do you work as?â
âWell, Iâm about to take over my fatherâs company. Argh! Itâs difficult to explain over the call. Troy swiftly Invited her out, âWhy donât we have dinner tonight? My treat.â
Emelie didnât want to. âThank you, Mr. Spencer, but Iâm still busy and wonât be able to join you.â
âWhere are you exactly? I can pick you up, and we can head right to dinner. Itâs not inconvenient for me at all. You need to eat regardless of how busy you are, right? Troy asked. He wasnât receptive to social cues or polite refusals. He was always incredibly persistent.
Emelie didnât want to offend Troy, so she said, âIâm near Bohr Tower.â
âIâll come over right away!â
Emelie had gotten a checkup at a hospital near Bohr Tower. Troy soon drove over in his especially extravagantâlooking Ferrari.
Troy retracted the Ferrariâs roof and took his shades off while whistling at Emelie. He was the spitting image of a wealthy millennial heir.
They went to a restaurant for dinner. When the server handed them their menus, Troy handed his to Emelie and said, âWhy donât you order for us?â
Emelie didnât shy away from the offer and took the menu. âIs there anything youâre not fond of eating. Mr. Spencer?â
âNah. Order away.â Troyâs eyes were glinting as he looked at Emelie. Only God knew how captivated he was by her when he first met her, not only was Emelie gorgeous, but she even had a naturally voluptuous
body!.
But because William had been by Emelieâs side before, Troy hadnât dared approach her and instead spent the whole night sneaking looks at her.
Now Troy was going to use his chance to win Emelie over!
So after Emelie finished ordering, Troy said eagerly, âWhy donât you join me, Emelie? Iâll pay you however
much you want!â
Emelie was taken aback for a moment before her expression grew cold. She was about to ask Troy what he meant when a man and woman stopped by their table.
The man called out, âWhat a coincidence, Ms. Hoven.â
Emelie looked up and got to her feet. âI could say the same, Mr. Feyd.â
It was Feyd Ryder.
Troy stayed seated and said in a peculiar tone, âOh, itâs Mr. Feyd. Are you out on a date with your girlfriend?â
Foyd could hear how provocative Troyâs tone was. They were of the same social status. Hence, they were familiar with one anotherâs thoughts and expectations. Feyd could tell that Troy had set his eyes on Emelle. Since Troy was now Feydâs love rival, the latter naturally had to rebut.
âWeâre just colleagues. Donât go around thinking just any man and woman are together all because you have tons of lovers yourself, Mr. Spencer,â Feyd said.
Troy rose to his feet, hand slamming on the table.
