Chapter 20
Winning Her Heart Back
Chapter 20 Fighting Over You
Emelle immediately played mediator. âAre you here for dinner too, Mr. Feyd? Their mushroom soup is pretty good. You should try it out later. As for what we talked about the other day⦠Iâm still considering it. Iâll let you know my decision once Iâve made it.â
Feyd was considerate of Emelieâs pride. He glanced at Troy before saying to Emelle, âIâll try the soup then. Tawait your response.â
Feyd then led his female colleague to another table to dine.
Emelie turned to Troy, who hurriedly said, âDonât think about him, Emelle. Think about me. Iâm being genuine here.â
âGenuine about what?â Emelie asked.
âGenuine about hiring you as my secretary! I donât know anything, so how could I manage my fatherâs company well? I need you more than anyone else!â Troy said earnestly. âDonât worry. Iâm the kind of boss who just pays you and never micromanages. Youâll be in charge of everything if you work for me!â
Emelie was originally angry over what Troy said earlier, but now his personality just seemed funny to her. She then told him sheâd consider his offer.
That made Troy immensely happy. He insisted on taking a picture with Emelie before posting it on his social media. The caption he used was like Feydâsâstating that he was about to find luck in his career and romance.
Emelie only had Troyâs phone number and not his social media handle, so she naturally didnât know heâd posted such a thing.
Jayden saw the post while scrolling through his phone before showing it to William. William only looked at it expressionlessly.
After dinner, Troy insisted on sending Emelie home. Emelie had no time to refuse before Troy ran over excitedly to his car in the parking lot.
So Emelie had no choice but to wait for him outside the restaurant.
But Troy never showed up even after 15 minutes had passed. Emelie was about to call his number when a police car drove to the parking lot. Emelie looked on, confused, before heading over to the parking lot.
She then saw Feyd and Troy, both covered in cuts and bruises, being dragged by the police to the police car. They had been charged with assaulting one another.
Emelie was at a loss for words/
âMs. Hoven! Get Will to come bail me out!â Troy yelled when he saw Emelie.
âWhat bail? Stay put!â the police officer snapped.
Emelie watched on silently.
Feyd called out as well, âMs. Hoven! Please ball me out! I canât let my father know about this
Emelle remained silent. As much as she didnât want to step foot in this matter, she didnât want to be held accountable as the source of Feyd and Troyâs fight. The two had likely fought over her. The tension. between them had been apparent earlier In the restaurant.
If their parents found out that their sons had gotten into a fight with another man all because of a woman and got detained at the police station for it, they would hunt her down right away. Theyâd probably make her leave Capebatt City or something.
Emelie had witnessed countless rich and powerful people in her three years of working with William. They always did as they pleased. That was why Emelle needed to fix the problem before it escalated further.
In the end, Emelie gave Jayden a call.
She had all the numbers of Williamâs friends. After all, she used to be responsible for managing activities and plans in his daily life. Emelie opted to call Jayden because he was the only one amongst Williamâs friends that she thought was righteous enough.
Emelie deduced this fact based on how Jayden had been dating his girlfriend since high school until now.
Emelie didnât expect William to show up with Jayden at the police station, however. She hesitated before approaching Jayden for a greeting, all because she noticed William stepping out of the car alongside him.
Both men were casually dressed. Williamâs gaze was typically neutral and unreadable when he saw
Emelie.
Emelie didnât care to figure him out. She greeted Jayden and only Jayden. âMr. Gleamfield.â
Jayden hurried over. âWhy donât you just stay out here, Ms. Hoven? Your leg is still injured, after all. Iâll handle things with the police.â
The station entrance had many stairs, so it would be difficult for Emelie to climb them.
Emelie nodded gratefully before hesitantly saying, âMr. Spencer got into a fight with Feyd Ryder. He should be bailable as well.â
She took out her bank card and said, âYou can use this to pay for the bail. My password is all the number
8.â
Jayden cocked an eyebrow and pushed Emelieâs card back to her. âIâll take care of it.â
He then went up the stairs and into the police station.
William didnât appear to want to follow Jayden. He coldly told Emelie, âFirst, you help Troy get Jayden
over here, then you help bail Feyd
