Chapter 471
Winning Her Heart Back
Chapter 471 She Left With Wesley
The helicopter blades churned and the powerful gusts flattened the grass around them, whipping up Wesleyâs suit.
Wesley tossed his umbrella aside.
He stared at Emelie. âEme, are you coming with me or not?â
Thousands of thoughts flashed through Emelieâs mind in a span of a few seconds.
Should she leave? Should she stay?
Who could she trust? William or Wesley?
Who should she bet on?
Could she continue her investigation if she stayed, or would leaving be the only way to get answers?
Images flickered through her mind: William slipping the wedding ring on her finger, Wesley protecting her in her youth, Williamâs âI miss youâ on their wedding day, Wesley walking away despite her pleasâ¦
Emelie breathed heavily.
A raindrop fell into her nose and she choked in a panic. She felt like she was drowning.
The helicopterâs hatch swung open.
Jodie was lying near the hatch, and she yelled, âSir!â
âLower the ladder!â Marcel yelled back.
Jodie immediately threw down a rope ladder, and it landed right in front of them. âClimb up! Climb up!â
Williamâs eyelids twitched. This was the first time he felt that the distance of about 20 feet was far away.
âEmelie!â he shouted.
She had agreed to get back together with William and marry him not too long ago. They had just gotten married, and they hadnât even begun their life together as a married couple yet.
Wesley was also calling out to her. âEme!â
Emelie closed her eyes and took a deep breath before turning to meet Wesleyâs gaze. âIf I go with you, will you tell me everything? The whole truth?â
Wesleyâs Adamâs apple bobbed. âYes.â
Without further hesitation, Emelie grabbed the ladder and started to climb up.
Williamâs pupils narrowed. For some reason, he felt like Emelie was a kite with a string that was about to break.
He flung open the car door and jumped out before the car even came to a complete stop.
5 He only had one goal. He had to catch Emelie.
Jodie spotted William from the helicopter and screamed, âTake off!â
The helicopter lurched upward, taking Emelie away with it.
At the same time, Marcel brought his blade down on William.
William reacted swiftly and his anger flaring.
The two men were locked in combat. It was rare for someone of Williamâs stature to be engaged in a physical brawl himself.
The other cars had arrived by now. Lyle jumped out and took Williamâs place in the fight
âWill! Go after Ms. Hoven!â Lyle said.
William jumped back into the car and slammed on the gas.
Because Emelie was still on the ladder, the helicopter didnât fully take off and kept hovering at a low altitude.
Emelie clung to the flimsy ladder. It was already hard enough to climb up a rope ladder, let alone when it was on a moving helicopter.
Even though the helicopter was swaying as little as it could, Emelie still felt like she was violently rocking on a swing.
Emelie was soaked in rain and her face pale.
She glanced down and saw the Maybach gaining on them. Emotions swirled within her.
Meanwhile, Wesley, having been trained, climbed up the ladder quickly. He reached down and grabbed Emelie, securing her.
He then yelled to Jodie, âPull us up!â
âGot it!â Jodie responded and hauled them toward the open door. Jodie leaned out and grabbed Emelie, pulling her into the cabin. William slammed on the brakes, his eyes glued to the helicopter.
Emelie had been suspended in the air for several minutes and was now trembling, but she wasnât sure if it was because of the cold or her fear. The helicopter flew over Marcel.
Marcel tried to climb up the ladder, but Lyle kicked him down. Before Marcel could get up, Lyle slammed his foot down on his chest.
Lyle looked up, his gaze meeting Emelieâs at the cabin door.
Marcel yelled with all his might, âSir, Go!â
Wesley said immediately, âGo.â

The helicopter broke out of its circling pattern and ascended, then it flew away and disappeared from sight.
Lyle, who was drenched, wiped the rainwater away from his face. âDamn them! They were prepared!â
William had returned with the car and got out. He walked straight toward Marcel and stepped on his neck. The pressure caused Marcelâs face to turn an alarming shade of purple.
Marcel wanted to fight back, but he was trapped under Lyleâs foot. He could only await his fate.
Williamâs eyes burned with anger as he asked a single question, âWhere is the helicopter taking her?â
Blood trickled down Marcelâs throat, but he managed a defiant grin. âEven if you kill me, I wonât tell you.â A murderous glint flickered in Williamâs eyes.
