Chapter 472
Winning Her Heart Back
Chapter 472 Wesley Canât Escape
William removed his foot from Marcelâs throat a few seconds later and turned to walk to his car.
It was a waste of time to deal with him here. Lyle had many ways to make him talk. Hopefully, a few hours with him would loosen Marcelâs tongue.
Lyle nonchalantly gestured to his men.
They immediately came over, bounded Marcelâs hands and feet, and taped his mouth shut. Then, they tossed him into the trunk.
Lyle took the towel that one of his men handed to him and wiped his face and hair before climbing into the Maybach.
He asked, âWill, whatâs the plan?â
Raindrops clung to Williamâs mono eyelids, which looked like razors.
He cast a glance at the tumultuous weather. Visibility was low, so flying was logically out of the question.
However, Wesley knew that the longer they stayed at Capebatt City, the higher the chance of William finding him. So, it was more likely that he would insist on flying
William said in a deep voice, âAshton, call Jayden. He has connections in the aviation department. Ask them to ban Wesleyâs flight route immediately.â
âYes!â Ashton replied.
William added, âAnd get someone to the hospital to guard Emelieâs mother. No one can see her except the doctors and nurses, of course. She canât be discharged either. Donât let her treatment be interrupted.â
âUnderstood!â Ashton said.
William loosened his tie. âLyle.â
âGo ahead, Will,â Lyle said.
âKeep an eye on Norman, particularly his communications. If he contacts Wesley, let me know immediately.â In a span of minutes, William had spun an intricate web that left no escape for Wesley.
Lyle, giving orders into his phone, found a moment to say, âDonât worry so much, William. Emelie cares about her mother the most. She will return as long as her mother is under our watch.â
Williamâs response was cold. âOf course sheâll be back. Sheâs my wife. Where else would she go?â
After Lyle instructed his men, he kept his phone away and touched his bruised mouth, courtesy of Marcel.
He cursed with hatred. âWesleyâs got guts, Iâll give him that. Kidnapping someone right under your nose? We need to teach him a lesson. Otherwise, heâll think he rules Capebatt City.â
Indeed.
William wrapped his tie around his hand coldly as if it was a venomous serpent. âWhat was the domestic company he wanted to buy again?â
Ashton answered at once, âBridge Corporation.â
âIsnât Elias in a bidding war with his two brothers over his fatherâs estate? If he acquires Bridge Corporation, it will earn him some brownie points with the old man,â William said slowly. âAsk him if heâs up for it. I can provide him with funds and connections.â
Ashton shuddered.
Bridge Corporation was still in its nascent stages. Attacking it now would be like a tiger attacking a cub or a cruise crushing a rowboat.
William would win without a doubt and Bridge Corporation would only be left with one endingâdestroyed.
He wanted to cut off Wesleyâs path completely, preventing him from developing in the country.
Ashton had a premonition. If Wesley didnât return Emelie within three days, or William couldnât find her, Norman might be Williamâs next target.
Ashton replied with a single âYesâ, and she started making the arrangements on her tablet.
Suddenly, Ashton received a call, and she quickly picked it up.
After listening for a moment, she turned to William and asked, âMr. Middleton, a passerby recorded a video of the car chase and posted it online. The PR department has suppressed it but the traffic police is aware, and they have intervened.â
Lyle arched an eyebrow. âDidnât Wesley leave first? If anyone needs to answer to this, itâs him.â
Williamâs expression was indifferent, but he didnât object.
Ashton retreated to the back and said to the driver, âWe can leave now.â
As they drove back, the car didnât speed like before but instead drove steadily.
As the car was driving onto the main road from the suburbs, a helicopter flew overhead.
