Winning Her Heart back Chapter 602
Winning Her Heart Back
Chapter 602 Crying and Fussing
Emelie asked, âDid you just say an old acquaintance of mine? If an old acquaintance wants to see me, they should be going to the cemetery instead.â
Only a handful of people knew that she was still alive.
Wesley asked, âIs it a man or a won in?â
âA young man, and he also said something else.â
The butter paused before replying, âHe said that Ms. Hoven has deceived him and that she needs to take responsibility.â
Emelie was so shocked that she couldnât speak.
For a moment, the garden was so quiet that only the sound of the summer breeze rustling the flowers could be heard.
A few seconds later, Wesley put down his tablet. He smiled faintly as he said, âOh? How interesting. Invite him in. Iâd like to meet him too
Emelie thought that it was a prank. However, when the butler brought the person in, she stood up in surprise.
It was him!
Ballz was sunny.
On the other hand, Capebatt City had a change in weather.
When Elies left in the moming, the sky was clear. However, by the time he arrived at the Undvike residence at noon, dark clouds had covered the sun, and it looked like it might rain.
He checked his watch. It was now 11 oâclock.
After listening to his mother nag for half an hour, he would go and deliver lunch to Ashley. Then, he would wait at the law firm for her to finish work so that he could drive her home. He didnât trust her to drive in the rain.
That was right.
He didnât plan on eating at the Undvike residence. He knew that his mother didnât call him to return just to have a meal. After all, she constantly nagged him about the same things..
âMontâ
Eliasâ mother, Maya Gonzales, was sitting on the couch. She immediately turned her head when she heard him and then looked behind him
Elias said, âYou can stop looking. Itâs just me.â
Maya instantly got angry. âDidnât I ask you to bring Ashley back for dinner?â
âShe has work at the law firm today.â
âSheâs five months pregnant. Why is she still going to the law firm? Staying home and taking care of the baby should be her priority!â
Elias sat on the couch and grabbed a few peanuts before cracking them open and tossing them into his mouth. He said lazily, âSheâs only five months pregnant. Why canât she go to the law firm? What about those female employees who work until their due date?â
Maya said, âThatâs different. Sheâs carrying the child of the Undvike family and the Thornton family! That child will be worth billions once theyâre b
born!â
Elias laughed. âWhat kind of logic is that? The money is Ashleyâs. If she wants to give it to the child, she can. If she doesnât, the child isnât automatically entitled to inherit her wealth. Donât talo things for granted.â
Mayaâs expression changed. âWhat do you mean by that? Didnât you sign a prenuptial agreement? Didnât you both agree that her inheritance would go to the child after theyâre born?â
A look of impatience flashed across Eliasâ face. He knew that his mother was only interested in the inheritance.
He threw another peanut into his mouth, then looked up and said,
âNo.â
Maya was furious, and she raised her hand to slap him. Elias didnât dodge and merely looked at her indifferently.
However, before her hand reached his face, she stopped as she couldnât bring herself to hit him. Instead, she slapped his shoulder and started crying while hitting his back.
âYou ungrateful child! If it werenât for Ashleyâs inheritance, I wouldnât have allowed you to marry her! You know how difficult things are for me in this family! That wretched Sadie is pregnant again. Sheâs pregnant again!â
âShe keeps having one child after another. If this keeps up, there wonât be any place for either of us in this family! Do you think Iâm just thinking about myself? Iâm thinking about you too!â
Elias didnât react to his motherâs crying or hitting. He continued eating the peanuts indifferently. This happened every month, and he was used to it.
