Chapter 619
Winning Her Heart Back
Chapter 619 Iâm Here to Kill You
The lights on the secondâfloor corridor had gone out, and the lights from the living room barely reached the stairs, leaving Eliasâs towering figure to be engulfed in darkness.
He wore the same clothes as before, with his white shirt stained by a large patch of dried blood. He looked like a bloodâsoaked hand reaching out from hell, menacing and terrifying.
Sadie was startled by his sudden appearance and instinctively stepped back, almost missing a step.
She grasped the handrail for support and forced a smile. âElias, when did you get back? Iâve been downstairs. How come I didnât see you come in?â
Elias remained silent as he stared down at her with cold, unreadable eyes.
Sadie swallowed, her eyes couldnât help but twitch. His sudden appearance was unsettling.
Could he have discovered the truth? No, it was impossible. She had been careful, so he couldnât possibly know.
Sadie tightened her grip on the handrail. âI⦠I saw the news. Did something happen to Ashley? I was just about to put on a coat and head to the hospital to see her. If youâre home now, she must be all right. Good people tend to be blessed, donât they?â
However, Elias continued to stare at her, his face and eyes void of emotion.
Elias usually acted rebellious, wild, and carefree. He would either defy his father, Rowan, making him back off or challenge his mother, Maya, driving her to fury. He had always displayed ferocity and had never been so calm.
Elias gave Sadie the eerie impression of being unreal. A deep fear gripped her.
âElias, why are you looking at me like that?â Sadie asked.
No⦠No, something was wrong. He must have learned the truth.
Sadie stammered, âElias! Donât listen to other people! This has nothing to do with me! I wouldnât dare hurt Ashley or your baby even if I had the guts to! You must believe me! It really wasnât me! Weâre a family!â
The corner of Eliasâ lip curled up, and he smiled. The smile was so cold that it made it hard for Sadie to breathe.
Just then, several people entered through the front door. âElias? What are you doing on the stairs?â
Rowanâs appearance was like a lifeline for Sadie. She quickly turned away from Elias and ran down the stairs. âDarling! Darling, help me! Elias is going to kill me!â
Rowan looked stunned. âWhat?â
Maya scolded her immediately. âNonsense! Elias would neverâ¦â
Elias finally spoke, âYouâre right. Iâm here to kill you.â
As Sadie struggled to escape, Elias suddenly kicked her hard in the back.
âAh!â Sadie yelled as she lost control.
She tumbled down the stairs and crashed to the floor. Rowan and Maya stood in shock while the approaching maids froze in horror.
Sadie clutched at her stomach as she rolled around on the floor, screaming. âMy stomach! My stomach!â
Rowan witnessed what had just happened. âElias! What are you doing? Go check on Sadie!â
âAnyone who dares can try.â Elias slowly walked down the stairs as his voice made the maids freeze up.
He grabbed a vase from a display in the corner of the stairwell. âWho gave you the nerve to team up with Gianna and harm Ashley?â
âI didnât⦠I didnâtâ¦â Sadie struggled to speak. To Sadie, Elias seemed like a demon that had descended upon her.
She struggled on the floor, crawling towards the door as she screamed, âDarling! Darling, save me! I didnât do it! I really didnât!â
Rowan yelled, âElias! Stop it!â
Ruthless rage flashed in Eliasâs eyes. He tightened his grip on the vase and brought it down on Sadieâs head. The vase shattered on Sadieâs face, and the shards tore through her skin.
Sadie screamed in agony.
Suddenly, Elias reached the bottom of the stairs and stomped down hard on her stomach.
Blood pooled around Sadie as it flowed out from her body. Eliasâs terrifying demeanor made him appear monstrous.
âYouâd better pray that Ashley wakes up. Otherwise, Iâll make sure you die,â he said.
